Politics › How Tinubu And APC Used And Dumped Nyesom Wike by EponObi(op): 8:43am On Jan 08 |
Over the last few days, I've been seeing people say Tinubu and APC used and dumped Wike.
That's not the case.
Yeah, the title should have read "How Tinubu and Wike Didn't Use and Dump Wike". Lol
After the 2023 elections, the presidency and the APC compensated and respected Wike for supporting them in Rivers state. For helping them secure Rivers votes, he was given a very top ministerial appointment as minister of FCT - you can say he was made governor of the FCT. With yearly budgets running into trillions of naira, precisely ₦1.81 trillion in 2025 alone, Wike was given control over a massive resource to drive development in the FCT as he pleased - unchecked, without barrier or red tape.
What more did he want? What honor and respect for his capacity as "Mr.Project" is greater than that? He was in PDP and given a position that should have gone to a member of APC.
Is that what you count as used and dumped?
It was Wike who turned the respect to disrespect.
His problem is he doesn't know how to pick his battles. He's like a driver pressing the gas without removing his leg under any circumstance; no brake, just gas full-on. Eventually, he will crash his car.
Wike fights everyone who doesn't do what he wants. It is his interest only and at all time.
In his stupidity, he thinks he can fight the president and the party holding the federal power. He keeps crossing boundaries and thinks everyone is as weak as Atiku and the PDP.
The Yorubas have a name for people like him. They call them "alaseju baba asete"
Google AI: Alaseju is a Yoruba term describing someone who overdoes things, goes to extremes, or takes undue advantage.
APC is an institutional political party. It's a behemoth, highly structured and organized. Wike is insane to think he can poke nose into their affairs or fight them.
When Fubara joined the APC, the equation changed. It changed because a variable called party protection changed. The weak protection Fubara received in PDP (which was under Wike's thumb) flipped to a strong party protection under APC, which is far from from the control or reach of Wike. That was the game changer in the war between the duo.
It's myopic to think APC will leave Fubara - a governor in their party - to be decimated by a Wike. On the scale, to APC, Fubara has more weight than Wike who isn't even a member of their party.
This saga between APC and Wike only makes APC more attractive. Those PDP governors and members who defected to APC will be happy they made the right choice because with APC, it's an entirely different experience compared to the PDP where a national party allowed a single person to control it with his personal interest without regard for other members.
This is also an evidence of the leadership qualities of Tinubu and Atiku.
A massive APC with 28 governors out of 36 but Tinubu is putting his foot on the ground against Wike to protect one of his own. Unlike Atiku whose PDP was way smaller and he couldn't clip the wings of Wike and keep the party under control.
Also, everyone can see how APC is protecting and supporting Fubara in an "all for one and one for all" style. PDP couldn't do this for him when his fight with Wike started and during the state of emergency declared by Tinubu. In fact, those governors having cold feet defecting to the APC now have more morale and reason to push through. Image source: Tribune Online

ADC and Atiku will regret having Obidient and Obi in their party. They are fascists.
They've started the process of destroying ADC like they plummeted LP. In a few months, Nigerians will see that LP and Abure were not the problem.
What kind of childish blackmail is this?: "We won't take it lightly" when it has been decided there will be primaries and no zoning. You people understood this before officially joining the party. You might think this Mama Pee is just saying her own but you won't know she is parroting the message of Obi. That is his MO - using his minors to say things he doesn't have the balls to say, then pretend like he doesn't know anything.
I think Atiku now understand what's going with the blackmail; reason he said he is not stepping down for anyone yesterday.
May God help you in ADC sha. When everything scatter, I'm waiting to see who they will accuse - Tinubu obviously. You are ignorantly and deliberately creating friction in the party but when everything start scattering, you will say Tinubu is destroying ADC. Issokay.

But Russian military is occupied right now, and china just can't fill in militarily for Russia.
At this point, anybody entering an alliance with china (economic or military) is just signing his death warrant because china is a cowardly nation uner xi.
Brics is almost entirely dead right now, only Russia, Iran and north Korea can afford to be in brics because they can defend themselves. China is both the economic and military muscle of the BRICS. They are only taking their time. When they are ready to look the US in he eyes, they will go against Taiwan. That's when they world will know if the Chinese are truly ready to challenge the world order or not. For now, they keep building. Abeg don't raise the hope of Nigerians unnecessarily. I don't think he's promising 24/7 supply; he already said Nigeria need to invest massively yearly over to years to achieve uninterrupted supply.
Wo, just make the supply this year to be good like when the supply was solid last year, when many of us had constant 12+ hours per day. That's all.
I no go lie, Adelabu came through last year when the entire country turned on him for the most terrible supply in years. He was named the minister of darkness. Days goes by without light.
I think the supply only dropped seriously towards the end of the year.
Mr. Power, just build on last year success and everywhere will be Gucci. No one in their right mind is expecting 24/7 light for next few years. Now that the FG is clearing debt owned to gas supplier, this should be an easy feat to achieve. |
