Please take a calm deep breath and open your mind, please be objective. Inflation is not new in the world, thats for sure, but the radical inflation inflicted on this country by this present government is unique. You would be insensitive not to admit that. Or it would be either you are so wealthy that you dont feel it or you are taken care of by someone else so money and prices are meaningless to you. But even if either were the case, you would still recognize the devastating impact on the common man in the last three years if you have any humanity and sense of empathy.

Now let me give you some cold hard facts. Don't take my word for it, research them.

1. The total removal of fuel subsidy in one day was a first of its kind in the world. Everywhere else where this has been done, its been done gradually. Here, for the first time anywhere, the price of fuel jumped 200% in a single day from under 200 Naira to over 600 Naira. That was too much a shock for the economy and especially for the vulnerable. It had a ripple effect on prices of every commodity and thus the result was a jump in prices at a hectic pace never seen before.

2. Just three to four weeks after this, the naira was floated. The result was another jump from about N700 to the dollar to almost N2000 AT A POINT, even though it fell to generally around 1500-1600. In case you dont understand, in an import dependent economy, this simply meant further rises in the prices of almost everything by over hundred percent.

By the time you add the effects of the two above, the multiplier effect was dizzying.

Note that electricity subsidies were also partially removed.

And further down the line, the price of petrol was increased again from just over 600 to circa 1000.

All of these were shocks, and they have resulted in suffering of an unimaginable kind for the poor and vulnerable masses. So please do not simply say in an insensitive way "inflation didnt start with Tinubu."

If you want to make the argument, say that all these shocks were necessary as is said by people like GloriousGbola. Dont pretend that they didnt happen at all or that what happened was just what had always been happening.

But honestly do you think many people will naturally vote for BAT? The North is disillusioned with him. They feel marginalised despite their huge support for electing him. He has been very clannish in his appointments limiting the most key ones to his base like PMB did.

Forget South East. Neither governors nor city boys can convince them.

South South, maybe fifty fifty. Only maybe.

South West will also be split. He wouldn't get it all.

If anyone tested the pulse of Nigerians, the majority don't want him.

But most likely he will force himself on us.

In summary the point is this;

If 2 million people come out to rally in support of Tinubu, you cannot conclude that it means Nigerians love Tinubu or they support his reelection, because there are over 98 million adults who did not join the rally.
My point has nothing to do with election.

You people don't understand anything. This is something Obi should have done too, but he kept running away from primaries. A grossly unpopular president is using party primaries as a pre launch to project his popularity but you lots can't see beyond your nose.
