The downfall of most musicians usually begins when they want to start doing everything in the value chain of music production...

It's better to just focus on singing songs and leave the running of a music label and other administrative stuff to the professionals undecided

Fundamentalist:

What is scary about abstaining from immoral acts like fornication, adultery, indecent dressing, alcohol consumption, blasphemy etc.

If your beliefs are that of the christain religion , I see no concrete reasons why you should be afraid.

Immoral acts as mentioned above are strongly opposed by the christain bible. Its only if you want us to be hipocritic.

okhokhugbo is a dead place, no access to that area if it rains. i bought 50/100 there in 2010 and the price have not appreciated since then because of the bad condition of road. you can't drive to okhokhugbo by car or SUV when it rains. if it's your personal house just forget that land abeg. true life story

After seeing an accident happen live last week friday involving a commercial bus, I now fully support the implementation of the speed limiting devices and the checking of tires of all vehicles on the roads (especially commercial).

One second I was looking at a bus driving in the opposite direction, next second BOOM!!!! Bus is in the air, flipping and turning wildly, people being thrown out all open and broken widows, bodies spread across my lane of the road like spilled beans..

SO if these devices will save lives, I am all for it.

Travel / 2 Dead, More Than 1,000 Rescued From High Waters In Louisiana Flooding (photos) by erayo2GCA(m): 9:28pm On Aug 13, 2016
At least two people have died and over a thousand have been rescued from severe flooding across central and southern Louisiana that has led the governor to declare a state of emergency, officials said.

An elderly man drowned after slipping and falling in high waters amid heavy rain in East Baton Rouge Parish. And in St. Helena Parish, a man died when his pickup truck was swept off a flooded highway and submerged under water, Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said at a news conference Saturday.

Crews are working to rescue another person although they expect this person may have also died in the disaster, according to St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office chief of operations Michael Martin.

In St. Helena Parish, about 210 people have been rescued from flooding so far, and three people in the community are believed to be missing, Martin said.

In Livingston Parish, which saw more than 17 inches of rain on Friday alone, officials said over a thousand people have been rescued from flooding so far as of Saturday morning, and they’re working to save another 150 in the Watson area. The Louisiana National Guard is sending a helicopter to assist with rescues in the drenched community.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, officials said more than 200 people have been rescued from flooding and 42 roads have been closed. The parish seat, Baton Rouge, had over 8 inches of rain on Friday, its wettest day on record.

The flooding this week also closed many schools in the Baton Rouge area, including Louisiana State University. see more photos

Culture / The Last King Of Africa. Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi. 1888A.D-1914A.D by erayo2GCA(m): 1:13am On Aug 13, 2016
Prince Idugbowa was the eldest son of Oba Adolo and his mother was called queen Iheya. During his coronation he took the name Oba ovonramwen Nogbaisi in 1888. He was tall, stout and light in complexion with his majestic voice. He was blessed with six children [princes]Aiguobasimwin , Usuanlele, Ehigie and Uvbi [princesses] Evbakhavbokun, Omono, Orimwiame.

After his installation to the throne, he had some chiefs [Eribo, Obazele, Osia, Obaraye and others] who opposed his ascension killed.

At the early stage of his reign, the Europeans visited Benin-city, Blessby, Bey and Farquahar.
That same year the Odundun, the Deji [Udezi] of Akure acquired swords for himself without the consent of the Oba Of Benin. And when the Oba learnt of this in early 1889, he then sent Okpele to take the swords from Deji. After much threat Deji surrendered the swords to Okpele and he then took them to Beni-city. Odundun sent a lot of presents to the Oba, but the Oba refused to accept his presents.

That same year [1890] the Oba gave his daughter’s [ princess Evbakhavbokun] hand in marriage to Ologboshere.

Early 1890, the Oracle of Oghene of Uhe [Oni of Ife] warned Oba Ovonramwen to be cautious that he perceived calamity was going to befall the city.

May 1891, during the royal coral beads ceremony, a human sacrifice was offered to the gods, his name was Thompson Oyibodudu. During his execution he shouted saying ‘the white men that are greater than us are coming shortly to fight and conquered you and I, but do it quickly’. This manifested in the punitive expedition of 1897.

In 1892, chief Nana of Benin River, stopped all trade between the Benin and the Itsekiri’s and he also prohibited the supply of cooking salt. After a while the issue was resolved and trade commenced. Chief Nana continued to pay homage to the Oba.

Early 1896 the Oba stopped trading with the Itsekiri’s , because he felt the Benin were been cheated. After many negotiations, the Oba requested for twenty thousand iron sheets from their chiefs before he can allow trade to commence. He had gotten some Iron sheets and brass from Mr Cyril Punch and other Europeans in 1891/1892 which he had used in roofing the palace halfway but he needed more to complete it, hence his request from the chiefs.

In 1895 the Enogie of Ekpoma, in Ishan kingdom died and the people rebelled because they felt the Oba had ignored them and they needed a new leader so the Oba sent massagers over there, commanding them to install the eldest son of the late Enogie.

That same year, the Oba built a war camp [Eko] at Obadan village. He recruited ten thousand men to be trained, so they could be used in Agbor and other campaigns which he proposed to undertake.

The Europeans sent Gen. Mr Philip and eight others to induce
Chief Ologboshere was accused alongside others as the masterminded of the massacre of Philip and his party was trial and hanged. And Oba Ovonranmwen was dethroned and deported to Calabar where he lived and died. This event is referred to as the Benin massacre.
Oba Ovoranmwen was not a bad king, because of the war that occurred in his time; the trial showed that he was innocent of the massacre of Phillip’s party. He was unfortunate to have those advisers at that moment and it was his refusal to appeal before the final court judgement that causes him to be deported and deprived of his crown. He is still worth celebrating like other great Oba’s. His eldest son [prince Aiguobasimwin] succceded him and became Oba Eweka ii

Crime / Franca Asemota Jailed For 22 Years For Trafficking Nigerian Girls For Sex Trade by erayo2GCA(m): 2:47am On Aug 05, 2016
LONDON - A female trafficking boss was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Thursday for using the threat of witchcraft to exert control over almost 40 women and girls brought from Nigeria to Europe for sex work, a British court prosecutor said.

Franca Asemota, 38, was found guilty of conspiracy to traffic persons for sexual exploitation, trafficking persons outside of the UK for sexual exploitation, and assisting unlawful migration.

Isleworth Crown Court in west London heard that Asemota was part of a criminal network that trafficked girls, boys and women to Europe, using the threat of "juju magic" and rituals with curses to exert control over her victims.

Prosecutor David Davies said Asemota targeted girls from poor, rural backgrounds with little knowledge of the world, promising them legitimate jobs in Europe between August 2011 and May 2012.

"Only when they were far away from their homes were they told the truth – that they would have to work as prostitutes," Davies said in a statement.

"The girls were told that if they disobeyed their captors or tried to escape, the curse would cause them injury, infertility or even death."

Prosecutions for human trafficking in England and Wales have increased since the introduction of a new anti-slavery law last year, with about 180 people prosecuted between April and December 2015, which prosecutors said was a new record.

The Modern Slavery Act - which came into force in July - increased maximum jail terms for traffickers to life and brought in measures to protect people believed to be at risk of enslavement.

Studies show there are an estimated 13,000 victims of forced labor, sexual exploitation and domestic servitude in Britain.

Globally an estimated 45.8 million people are born into servitude, trafficked for sex work, or trapped in debt bondage or forced labor, according to the 2016 Global Slavery Index by human rights group Walk Free Foundation.

Forced labor generates an estimated $150 billion in illegal profits every year, according to the United Nation's International Labour Organization (ILO).

Foreign Affairs / Egypt 'kills Head Of Islamic State's Sinai Branch' by erayo2GCA(m): 10:16pm On Aug 04, 2016
The Egyptian military says it has killed the head of the Sinai branch of so-called Islamic State (IS), along with dozens of its fighters.

It said Abu Duaa al-Ansari was killed in a series of air strikes on fighters of the Sinai Province - or Ansar Beit al-Maqdis - group.

The air strikes targeted jihadist strongholds near the town of El-Arish.

Sinai Province is Egypt's most active insurgent group and has been linked to deadly attacks in Sinai and Cairo.

The Egyptian military said: "The raids left more than 45 terrorists killed, dozens of others injured and several arms caches destroyed."

Brig-Gen Mohammed Samir said in a posting on Facebook that Ansari was killed in an operation guided by "accurate intelligence".

Sinai, including here in El-Arish, has seen multiple Islamist attacks in recent years

The air strikes were on southern and south-western areas of El-Arish, the largest town in northern Sinai.

The jihadist group, which has been active in the Sinai peninsula since 2011, has not commented on the army's statement.
Video threat

Islamist militancy has risen in Egypt since the army deposed President Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2013.
Sinai Province: Egypt's most dangerous insurgents

Originally called Ansar Beit al-Maqdis (Supporters of Jerusalem), but changed its name after it pledged allegiance to so-called Islamic State in November 2014 Began with rocket attacks on Israel but refocused on targeting Egyptian security forces after the removal of President Morsi

Its aim is thought to be to take control of the Sinai peninsula to turn it into an Islamist province
Deadliest attacks include killing of 33 security personnel in North Sinai in October 2014
The number of active members is believed to be between 1,000 and 1,500
Believed to have cells in Cairo, Giza and the Western Desert

A recent survey conducted by London-based Al-Araby al-Jadid news website said the group had carried out more than 31 attacks in various areas across Sinai within just a two-week period in March 2016.

The group is also a prolific producer of propaganda videos.

On Wednesday, a video said to be from the IS Sinai affiliate issued a rare direct threat to Israel, saying it would soon "pay a high price".

Foreign Affairs / Obama Says Trump 'unfit' For Presidency by erayo2GCA(m): 7:17pm On Aug 02, 2016
Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama offered one of his sharpest denunciations of Donald Trump to date Tuesday, declaring the Republican nominee entirely unfit to serve as president and lambasting Republicans for sticking by their nominee.

The strong rebuke in the White House East Room came after Trump's criticism of the family of a slain Muslim US soldier, along with comments that displayed apparent confusion related to the Russian incursion into Ukraine.

"The Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president," Obama said at a White House news conference with the Prime Minister of Singapore. "He keeps on proving it."

The Trump campaign responded by going after the Democratic nominee as well as the President.

"Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office," a Trump statement said, listing a number of policy concerns. "Obama-Clinton have single-handedly destabilized the Middle East, handed Iraq, Libya and Syria to ISIS, and allowed our personnel to be slaughtered at Benghazi."

Obama on Tuesday described his feelings about Trump as unprecedented, recalling disagreements with previous GOP presidential nominees Sen. John McCain and Mitt Romney -- but never an outright sense they were unfit to serve.

"The notion that he would attack a Gold Star family that made such extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our country, the fact that he doesn't appear to have basic knowledge of critical issues in Europe, the Middle East, in Asia, means that he's woefully unprepared to do this job," Obama said.

Speaking alongside Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in the White House East Room, Obama said there are now weekly episodes in which even Republican party leaders distance themselves from Trump.

"There has to be a point at which you say, 'Enough,' " Obama said.

Obama goes after Trump's party

Obama placed responsibility for Trump's statements squarely on his fellow Republicans, many of whom denounced his statements on the slain soldier's family but didn't withdraw their support.

"What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?" Obama asked of GOP leaders. "This isn't a situation where you have an episodic gaffe. This is daily and weekly where they are distancing themselves from statements he's making. There has to be a point at which you say, 'This is not somebody I can support for president of the United States, even if he purports to be a member of my party.' "

Obama said that denunciations from Republicans of Trump's remarks "ring hollow" without an accompanying withdrawal of support.

"I don't doubt their sincerity. I don't doubt they were outraged by some of the statements that Mr. Trump and his supporters made about the Khan family," Obama said. "But there has to come a point in which you say, 'Somebody who makes those kinds of statements doesn't have the judgment, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world.' "

Trump and the family of the slain soldier have been locked in an increasingly bitter dispute over Muslims in America and the nature of patriotic sacrifice.

After Khizir Khan, who lost his son in a suicide bombing in Iraq, declared at last week's Democratic National Convention that Trump had "sacrificed nothing," the Republican nominee claimed he'd been "viciously attacked" and questioned why Khan's wife, Ghazala, didn't make her own remarks.

Criticism from Trump's own party came swiftly, including in a lengthy statement from McCain, whom Trump previously derided for having been taken captive in the Vietnam War. But he and other top GOP leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan, made little indication they would withdraw support for the Republican candidate.

Trump has also taken flak for appearing unaware that Russian forces had annexed Crimea in early 2014, saying on ABC's "This Week" Sunday that President Vladimir Putin is "not going into Ukraine." Later, he argued that the people of Crimea "would rather be with Russia than where they were" -- an argument that Putin himself has made in justifying his annexation of the disputed Ukrainian territory.

Trump looks for better Russia ties

And he's maintained his view that fostering better ties to Putin would benefit areas of American foreign policy, including in the fight against ISIS. "If we could get along with Russia, wouldn't that be a good thing, instead of a bad thing?" Trump asked Monday during a campaign appearance in Pennsylvania.

Trump also took heat for calling on Russia last week to release deleted emails from Clinton if they had obtained them in a hack of the Democratic National Committee, which US officials have fingered Moscow for.

At the news conference, Obama said the alleged Russian hacking wouldn't necessarily prompt a complete freeze in relations between the the country and the United States.

Noting that the FBI was still investigating the hack, Obama said cybersecurity was just another dispute of many between Putin and himself.

"If in fact Russia engaged in this activity, it's just one on a long list of issues that me and Mr. Putin talk about," Obama said. "I don't think that it wildly swings what is a tough, difficult relationship that we have with Russia right now."

Obama's administration, through the Justice Department's national security division, continues to investigate the hack. Neither the White House nor the FBI have publicly blamed Russia for the intrusion. But federal officials said there is strong evidence indicating the breach was perpetrated by hackers working on behalf of Russia intelligence.

Trump has brushed off Democratic charges that Putin could be behind the hack in order to tip the US election in his favor, claiming he's never met the Russian leader and doesn't maintain a relationship with him. In statements from only a few years ago, however, Trump said he enjoyed warm ties with Putin.

Obama's remarks Tuesday intensify his patten of inserting himself into the rancorous presidential race. While the President has freely criticized Trump in the year since the businessman entered the race, his denunciations have come faster and harsher in the last several weeks.

At last week's convention, Obama named Trump repeatedly, arguing the candidate was ignorant of facts and intent on dividing the nation. And in June, Obama lit into Trump's response to the mass shooting in Orlando, saying he was peddling a dangerous vision.

Education / David Beautiful Bald Eagle Jr. Dies At 97; American Indian Chief Who Served In W by erayo2GCA(m): 11:45pm On Jul 31, 2016
A longtime representative of South Dakota's Lakota people, Chief David Beautiful Bald Eagle Jr., has died on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. He was 97.

Bald Eagle died at home Friday and a traditional four-day wake began in his home Monday.

Bald Eagle was born in a tepee in 1919 and for decades he was the face of the Lakota people in state tourism promotions.

Charlie Rooks with Rooks Funeral Home in Eagle Butte said Bald Eagle's funeral is scheduled for Friday at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.

Notable deaths of 2016
He served in the Army during World War II and was wounded after parachuting into Normandy during D-Day, the Rapid City Journal reported. He later became a champion Lakota dancer, rodeo cowboy and chief of the Minicoujou band. He also appeared in movies, including the Oscar-winning "Dances with Wolves."

Bald Eagle's grandfather was Chief White Bull, a relative of Sitting Bull, who fought in the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876.

Bald Eagle had been asked to address indigenous people worldwide, and tribal leaders from South Dakota reservations sought counsel from him, the newspaper reported.

"I was born in a tepee at Cherry Creek, the first Indian village there ever was," Bald Eagle told the Journal in 2013. "I know we can't go back there, back to where we were. But we can tell the young ones how it was and they can remember, and they can bring it back. They can return."

Foreign Affairs / Indonesia President Joko Widodo Should Not Become The Most Prolific Executioner by erayo2GCA(m): 1:39pm On Jul 30, 2016
The Indonesian authorities have told the relatives of 14 death row prisoners that they will execute them by firing squad tonight, Amnesty International has learned.

The 14 include four Indonesians, and ten foreign nationals – all convicted of drug-related offences.

Contrary to Indonesian law and international standards, the families were only informed of the decision this morning. Indonesian law requires that relatives be informed at 72 hours in advance.

“President Jokowi should not become the most prolific executioner in recent Indonesian history,” said Rafendi Djamin, Amnesty International’s Director for South East Asia and the Pacific.

Jokowi still has time to pull back from these unlawful executions, before inviting global notoriety
Rafendi Djamin, Amnesty International's Director for South East Asia and the Pacific

“He still has time to pull back from these unlawful executions, before inviting global notoriety.”

If the executions are not halted, President Jokowi will have implemented the death penalty more times than in any South East Asian country, and more often than any Indonesian leader this century.

“The Indonesian authorities are proceeding with indecent haste. There are four clemency appeals that are still to be heard, and there are serious fair trial concerns about many prisoners’ cases.”

“At a time when a majority of the world’s countries have turned their back on this cruel and irreversible punishment, President Jokowi is recklessly hurtling in the wrong direction,” said Rafendi Djamin.

Systemic flaws

Amnesty International has documented systemic flaws in Indonesia’s criminal justice system and its implementation of the death penalty.

The imposition of the death penalty for drug-related offences violates international law, which only permits the use of the punishment for “the most serious crimes.”

These include violations of the right to a fair trial; the right not to be subjected to torture or to other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment; the right to apply for clemency or pardon of a death sentence; and foreign nationals or others who do not understand or speak the language used by the authorities are entitled to the assistance of an interpreter following arrest, including during questioning, and at all other stages of the proceedings.

Background information

Under Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who was President of Indonesia from 2004 to 2014, there were 21 executions. By tomorrow, President Jokowi could bring the total number of executions under his rule to 28 if they are not halted.

An Amnesty International report on Indonesia, Flawed Justice: Unfair Trials and the Death Penalty, published in October 2015 highlighted systemic flaws in the administration of justice resulting in violations of the right to fair trial, as outlined in the cases below of prisoners who are at imminent risk of execution at Nusakambangan Island:

Indonesian nationals Agus Hadi and Pujo Lestari were arrested for attempting to smuggle benzodiazepine pills from Malaysia in 2006. They were detained at Riau Islands Police Headquarters on 22 November that year, interrogated there for 20 days and then transferred to the Batam prosecution detention centre. They were held in total for nine weeks before they appeared before a judge at their first trial hearing in the Batam District Court at the end of January 2007. Court documents indicate that Agus Hadi only received assistance from a lawyer on 12 December, 20 days after his arrest. Pujo Lestari had legal counsel appointed by the Batam District Court on 8 February, 78 days after his arrest and a week after the court had scheduled the first trial hearing.

Indonesian national Merri Utami was arrested by the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police force after the police found 1.1kg of heroin in her bag on 31 October 2001. Merri Utami told her current lawyer that shortly after her arrest the police repeatedly beat her, sexually harassed her and threatened her with rape to make her “confess” to possessing the drug; and that her sight has been damaged as a consequence of the beatings. She was convicted and sentenced to death in 2002. Her conviction and death sentence were upheld by the Supreme Court in 2003. She submitted an application for clemency to the President on 26 July 2016.

Zulfiqar Ali, a Pakistani national, was arrested at his home in Bogor, West Java province on 21 November 2004, and charged with possession of 300g of heroin based on his friend’s confession to the police. However during his trial, Zulfiqar’s friend retracted his statement that the heroin belonged to him. During his pre-trial detention, he was refused the right to contact his embassy and was not permitted any access to a lawyer until approximately one month after his arrest. Tangerang District Court documents show prosecution granted an extension of Zulfiqar’s detention from 4 March to 2 May 2005, meaning he was detained for at least three months before being brought to the first trial hearing, although there is no information as to when the first trial hearing started. Whilst being interrogated by the Soekarno-Hatta Airport district police, Zulfiqar Ali was kept in a house for three days and punched, kicked and threatened with death unless he signed a self-incriminating statement, which he later did. After three days his health deteriorated to the extent that on 24 November 2004 he was sent to a police hospital, where he required stomach and kidney surgery due to damage caused by the beatings. He was in the hospital for 17 days. During his trial he described this torture, but the judges allowed the “confession” to be admitted as evidence. There has been no independent investigation into his allegations. Zulfiqar Ali did not speak Bahasa Indonesia. He received limited translation assistance throughout his detention and during the proceedings against him. At the trial, he was provided with translation only from Bahasa Indonesia to English, but he understood only a little English. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 2005. His death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2006

.

Humphrey Jefferson “Jeff” Ejike, a Nigerian man, who was arrested on 2 August 2003 in Jakarta for possessing drugs after police found 1.7kg of heroin in a room used by one of his employees at the restaurant he owned and ran. Jeff was convicted of and sentenced to death for offences relating to the import, export, sale and trafficking of drugs in 2004. His conviction and sentence were upheld by the Jakarta High Court in June 2004 and the Supreme Court in November 2004. He did not have access to a lawyer at the time of his arrest, interrogation or detention. He was detained for a total of five months without legal representation, in breach of Article 14 of the ICCPR as well as Indonesia’s Criminal Procedure Code which guarantees the right to be assisted by and to contact counsel. He has claimed that he was repeatedly beaten during interrogation and threatened with being shot if he refused to sign papers in which he “confessed” to possessing the heroin or if he refused to implicate others. Trial records of April 2004, however, show that Jeff told the court that he was not subjected to any form of coercion, although he such statements are themselves sometimes made as a result of threats. The trial judgement includes the statement that “black-skinned people from Nigeria” are under surveillance by police because they are suspected of drug trafficking in Indonesia.

In November 2004, the former owner of Humphrey Jefferson Ejike’s restaurant, reportedly told police that he had organized for drugs to be planted in the restaurant so that Jeff would be arrested and convicted. The former owner later died in prison but several people testified that they had witnessed him making this confession while in prison on drug charges. Such witness statements formed part of an appeal for a review of Humphrey Jefferson Ejike’s case to the Supreme Court, which was rejected in September 2007. That same year the court upheld the constitutionality of the death penalty for drug offences. He applied for clemency from the President of Indonesia just a few days ago. No execution must be carried out while legal or clemency procedures are pending.

Religion / Clergyman Donates To Widows In Cross River State by erayo2GCA(m): 2:02pm On Jul 25, 2016
According to Eval Asikong Facebook post

The Founder and General Overseer of Christ For The World Mission, Rev. Dr. Nicholas Ezeh, has donated several bags of rice, cartons of tin tomatoes, bags of salt, cartons of magi cube, toiletries, detergents, vegetable oil and a cash sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000.00) to widows across the State, as part of the activities marking his 2016 birthday celebration.

Presenting the items to the widows at a ceremony held at the POWER Incubation Center of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Rev. Dr. Nicholas Eze disclosed that he chose to celebrate his birthday with widows, orphans and the less privileged in appreciation of God’s abundant blessings on him, his church-Christ for the World Mission, and his entire family. Rev. Eze hinted that God has raised and given him enough grace and enablement to serve Him since he arrived the state on January 8th 1973 pointing out that whenever God blesses a person, he should share with the masses.
He told the beneficiaries that the items distributed to them were not to stop but reduce their burdens and admonished them to be prayerful to generate faith that will become channels of God’s blessings for them.

The cleric commended the Cross River State Government and the Ministry of Women Affairs for embarking on programmes that will alleviate the plight of widows in the state, maintaining that he has adopted the widows’ outreach as part of his birthday celebration. He stated that his effort is to complement what the government is doing. That it is like a custom to his family, noting that his mother was a widow and what she passed through as a widow challenged him to do what he is doing for widows. He was accompanied by both his biological and ministry family, especially his “Muchroom partners”.

Hon. (Mrs.) Stella Odey, Commissioner for Women Affairs while receiving the cash and items, commended Rev. Eze for his philanthropic gesture from personal earnings, noting that they will go a long way to cushion the challenges of the beneficiaries in this tortured economy. The Commissioner assured Rev. Dr. Nick Ezeh that Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Senator (Professor) Ben Ayade is gender-friendly and widows-friendly. To demonstrate his passion, commitment and dedication towards issues of widowhood, His Excellency Governor Ben Ayade created a department of Widows under the Ministry of Women Affairs. He also made employment of widows in the garment factory a priority for widows to be self-reliant.

To complement this, the wife of the governor, Dr. Mrs. Linda Ayade has done so much for widows in the state, including promising sponsorship of widows into the Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC). Recently she organized an event that brought widows together.
The Commissioner for women Affairs appreciated the benevolence of the philanthropic cleric, assuring him of a sustainable partnership even as she wished the Clergyman an awesome birthday.
The Widows sang a birthday song for Rev. Dr. Nick Eze with representatives from the three senatorial districts making a speech.

Dr. Nick Ezeh is an expert in church planting and currently oversees over 400 churches under Christ for the World mission Inc. He is also a mentor and spiritual father to the body of general overseers called the much-room partners. He has invested over 40years in ministry, seats on a number of boards in the educational sector and is the president and founder of world harvest Bible College and seminary. A member of the national executive council of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the advisory council of the PFN Cross River state chapter. Dr. Nick is without argument a papa and a prophet in the land and a gift to the body of Christ and this generation. His message emphasizes the authority of the believer, the grace of God, living a life of faith and reigning in the earth with a kingdom of God consciousness.

Present at the event were: Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Stella Odey; P.A. to the Governor Widows' Affairs, Mrs. Imelda Asikpo; a representative of the United Nations; Directors in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare; and the large entourage that accompanied Rev. Dr. Nick Ezeh drawn from his ministry and biological family.

Health / 9 Signs Of Infertility In Men And Women by erayo2GCA(m): 2:44pm On Jul 24, 2016
Approximately 1 in 8 couples struggle with infertility and the most obvious sign is not being able to get pregnant despite having unprotected sex for 6 months or a year, depending on your age.

Here are nine other important symptoms to pay attention to— they could explain why you can’t conceive.

1. Irregular or absent periods
A telltale sign that you’re infertile is if your periods are irregular or non-existent. In order to have regular periods, the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in the brain, along with the ovaries, must work together. But when they don’t, it could mean there’s a hormonal imbalance.

“Irregular periods or absent periods represent the fact that at some level an issue with regularly producing an egg and that can be a clear cause of infertility,” said Dr. Jason M. Franasiak, a board-certified OB-GYN and a board-certified technical supervisor in embryology and andrology at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey in Marlton.

If your cycle has dropped from around 28 days down to 21 days, or your periods have stopped altogether, it could mean that you’re approaching menopause. In some women who have a genetic predisposition or an autoimmune disease, menopause can happen as early as their 20s, said Dr. Brian Levine, a board-certified OB-GYN and fertility specialist, and the New York practice director for the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine in New York City.

2. Heavy or painful periods

Between 5 and 10 percent of women who are infertile have heavy periods, which could be due to uterine fibroids. Likewise, painful periods might mean you have endometriosis, a condition that has also been associated with infertility.

3. Vision problems and clumsiness
If your peripheral vision doesn’t seem as strong as it used to be, you’re suddenly clumsy and your periods are irregular, it could a sign that you have a prolactinoma, or a non-cancerous tumor on the pituitary gland that can affect your fertility, Levine said.

The pituitary gland makes follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) which regulates the ovaries and egg production. Yet since the pituitary gland sits directly on the optic chiasm— the point in the brain where the optic nerves in the eyes cross over— the prolactinoma can push down on the chaism and push the cells that make FSH together, which in turn affects your vision, Levine said.

If your doctor finds that your prolactin level is elevated, he will order an MRI of your head to see how big the tumor is. A small prolactinoma can be treated with medication while larger ones will require surgery to remove it. After treatment, your periods should return to normal and improve your chances of getting pregnant.

4. Excess, unwanted hair
If you have excess hair on your face or on other parts of your body, it might mean that you have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal imbalance and a common cause of infertility. PCOS causes the ovaries to make more androgens, or hormones, than normal and create a disconnect between the way the brain talks to the ovaries, Franasiak said. Other symptoms of PCOS include irregular periods, weight gain and acne.

5. Loss of libido and sexual function

Studies show that for approximately 40 percent of couples who struggle with infertility, the man is the primary cause or one of the causes.

Men who have loss of libido, have trouble getting or keeping an erection, problems with ejaculation or pain, swelling or a lump in the testicles could mean there’s a problem with fertility.

6. Weight gain

Forty-five percent of women are overweight or obese before they get pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and carrying extra pounds can make it hard to get pregnant.

Yet if you’re underweight, over-exercise or are athletic, you could have irregular periods, which can affect your infertility too. Talk to your doctor or a nutritionist who can help you come up with a plan to get to a healthy weight.

7. Painful sex
If sex is painful, extra lubrication might do the trick but vaginal dryness is usually due to a lack of estrogen, a sign of early menopause and an obstacle to getting pregnant.

8. Thinning hair or hair loss
If your hair seems thinner or more is falling out, it could mean you have thyroid dysfunction which can affect ovulation. In fact, a study in The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist found that 2.3 percent of women with infertility also had an overactive thyroid. Some additional symptoms to pay attention to include anxiety, weight loss, rapid heartbeat and fatigue.

9. Vitamin D deficiency

According to a report by the CDC, 41.6 percent of people are deficient in vitamin D and it may be associated with infertility. Although some studies show sufficient levels of vitamin D can help female and male fertility, experts agree there’s not enough data to show that a deficiency causes infertility.

Nevertheless, vitamin D is important for things like strong bones, immunity and heart health, so ask your doctor if you should take a supplement.

Crime / Police Kill Terror Suspects In Mombasa, Kenya by erayo2GCA(m): 12:59am On Jul 22, 2016
Two terror suspects have been killed and three hand-grenades seized from their house in Mombasa.

The two men, who police said escaped capture during raids in Majengo and Malindi, were with two others who got away with bullet wounds during the 4pm incident in Mshomoroni, Kisauni Sub-County.

Speaking at the Dog Section Unit Police Station, Kisauni deputy OCDP Walter Abondo said the two were members of the terrorist group Al-Shabaab and were suspected to have been planning to carry out attacks in Mombasa.

Police also seized 17 rounds of ammunition, three liquid explosives, four plastic explosives and four bomb detonators.

“This evening members of the public tipped us [off] that there were suspicious characters within the area. And when we surrounded the house and approached the four, they started shooting at our officers,” said Mr Abondo.

He added: “The two have been in our books and their day was today. We are currently trailing the other two and we are appealing to members of the public to continue supporting us.”

Police believe the suspect who escaped is called Ishmail Shoshi and he has been on the list of wanted terror fugitives since last year.

Those shot dead were identified as Salim Hanjary Benzimba and Kibwana Ahmed Abdalla, alias Rajab

A police report further said those killed were "logistical facilitators" for Al-Shabaab and some of their tasks were to identify and rent houses to shelter other militants.

The report also associated them with another fugitive called Hussein Barbly.

"They were involved in the [renting] of the Majengo residence in which police recovered a cache of arms. They also leased a house in Malindi, Kwachache area, where officers killed four terror suspects."

The report appealed to the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Crime / Woman Who Traded Daughter For Heroin Gets 51 Years To Life by erayo2GCA(m): 8:51pm On Jul 21, 2016
CINCINNATI -- She said she was ashamed that she traded her 11-year-old daughter for sex to get heroin, but the judge pointed out that April Corcoran never offered an apology to the child.

“You showed no kind of mercy,” Judge Leslie Ghiz said.

In turn, Ghiz said she’d have no mercy on Corcoran and sentenced her to 51 years to life during her sentencing Tuesday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.

Corcoran, 32, of Warren County, pleaded guilty in June to multiple counts of complicity to rape, of human trafficking and child endangering involving the child. Corcoran also admitted giving the girl heroin sometimes as a reward. The child vomited each time.

Ghiz allowed Corcoran to read a statement in court.

“I made selfish, horrible choices that will affect (the girl) for the rest of her life,” Corcoran said. “I am consumed by guilt and shame every day.”

That didn't move the judge.

The girl was sodomized, raped, forced to perform MouthAction and frequently videotaped by Corcoran's drug dealer in his Camp Washington home, prosecutors say. The encounters happened between February and June 2014.

Shandell Willingham, 42, who faces the same charges as Corcoran, has been convicted in Indiana on unrelated drug charges as well as on child pornography charges. He was returned to Hamilton County last month. A hearing in his case is set for Aug. 10.

The girl's grandparents told the judge they hoped for justice for their granddaughter and that others would be protected from Corcoran. The girl's grandmother spoke quietly in court.

"I saw my granddaughter. I heard her small voice," Sylvia Corcoran said. "It was horrific. How could she (Corcoran) do this? I don't know if my granddaughter is going to be able to have a normal life."

The girl, now, 13, is living out of state with her father and stepmother.

Ghiz said she had to take breaks while reading everything that was admitted into the court case.

"I can honestly say that, in three-and-a-half years on the bench, this is by far the worst thing that has come before this court," Ghiz said. And she's seen everything from thefts to physical harm done by people addicted to heroin, she said.

"I don't know that you grasp the damage that has been done to this poor child," Ghiz said, noting that the girl is undergoing medical care, has had suicidal thoughts and is taking medications.

Corcoran's lawyer, James Bogen, said his client has been "sickened and disgusted" by what she's done since she's been jailed.

Dr. Daniel Bebo of UC Health told the court that when someone’s in withdrawal from opioids or heroin, “There’s a lot of leeway to what they’ll say or do.”

But he confirmed Bogen's statement in court about addicts: "They still know right from wrong."

Antonio Conte born 31 July 1969) is an Italian professional football manager and former player. He is currently manager of English club Chelsea.

Playing as a midfielder, Conte began his career at local club U.S. Lecce and later became one of the most decorated and influential players in the history of Juventus. He stood out throughout his career due to his tenacity, work-rate, and leadership, captaining the team, and winning the UEFA Champions League, as well as 5 Serie A titles, among other honours.
He also played for the Italian national team and was a participant at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 UEFA European Championship, where, on both occasions, the Italians finished runners-up.
His managerial career started in 2006, leading Bari to the 2008–09 Serie B title, and Siena to promotion from the same division two years later. He then took over at Juventus in 2011, where he implemented a 3–5–2 formation and won three consecutive Serie A titles, before taking charge of the Italian national team in 2014 until the UEFA Euro 2016 campaign.

Juventus

On 22 May 2011 Juventus sporting director, Giuseppe Marotta, announced that Juventus had appointed Conte as their new head coach replacing Luigi Delneri. Conte arrived amid high expectations that he, a former fan favourite as a midfielder for the club, would lead them back to the summit of the Italian and European game.

His first ten months as manager saw the club reach a number of landmarks such as, following a 5–0 win over rivals Fiorentina, equalling Fabio Capello's run of 28 unbeaten games between November 2005 and May 2006. On 20 March 2012, he became the first coach to lead Juventus to a Coppa Italia final since Marcello Lippi in the 2004 Coppa Italia Final. On 25 March, following a 2–0 victory at the Juventus Stadium, he became the first coach to complete the league double in the Derby d'Italia against rivals Internazionale since Fabio Capello in 2005–06.

Italy

On 14 August 2014, following Cesare Prandelli's resignation, the Italian Football Federation announced to have agreed a two-year deal with Conte as new head coach of the national team until Euro 2016. With the national side, Conte continued to field formations which he had employed during his successful spell with Juventus, varying between the 3–5–2, 4–3–3, 4–2–4 and 3–3–4, the choice that ultimately replaced Prandelli's 4–3–1–2 midfield diamond formation. His first match as Italy manager was a 2–0 win over Netherlands, during which Ciro Immobile and Daniele De Rossi scored the goals for Gli Azzurri. Conte won his first competitive match on 9 September 2014, defeating Norway 2–0 in their opening 2016 European Qualifying match

Chelsea

On 4 April 2016, it was confirmed that Conte had signed a three-year contract and would officially become the new first team manager of English Premier League side Chelsea from the 2016–17 season.
