I'm a job seeker living in Sango Ota but please I'd like to know- is there a specific nature to the job/business so that I would actually know if I am particularly eligible? |
go ghana!!! go team africa!!!! |
Even westerners practice witch-crafty & wizardry. I guess them juju own pass ours. |
Well at least, all the unnecessary extra luggage that Nigeria's money is being wasted can stop hoping for more money. |
@ ziga There is no falacy in my statements. I'd rather keep mute than just post anything. I do enough scientific research to make sure I don't mislead with my contributions. Did you not see the link I posted. You can source around yourself from doctors. May I ask if you are a doctor to even be sure of countering my opinions? Maybe we could meet up some place were only medical intellectuals are allowed- no hard feelings there. , just saying. |
The temperature of water gradually (nt instantly or fast enuf to prevent chem rxns) adjusts to ur body temp. Or y do we sometimes av a cold tommy after taking water? Its simply because, it takes a little while for the temp to balance up. @ the liver guy, water and food do nt go to ur liver directly. The liver would always try to detoxify ur system bt there is only so much it can take- thts y u get a bloated tummy if u kp taking lots of alcohol (for example). Caution saves medication and cost of cures bt in the end, EveryOne is always free to choose how he/she dies. |
Thanks a lot ekpezoo and Mr_Fix_it, I really appreciate your quotes, very simple and straight forward. |

I have to tell all you guys that posted here. These posts are quite interesting. @ Jinwitemi: Religion has always been in existence before Christians, Moslems etc, and I do not agree with you that humans will outgrow it. If not anything else, it will evolve to something else, of course humans will catalyze that. it has always been human nature to depend/believe in something, even the "scientists" who don't believe in God believe in science which is their religion. I can assure, it won't fade away. @ benodic: To blame religion because there are some people you met and aren't so "accommodating" because of your religion is a bit shallow. Someone once asked me, if half Nigerians were truly religious, wouldn't we be the most developed country in Africa, probably the world? I have met wonderful Christians and wonderful non-Christians, and I have met those that are not so wonderful too. I quite agree with Jesoul, "it is we who choose what to do with the religion we're armed with. |
Thanks Gabry. Keep it real. |

@ AYODEJI4LOVE: I completely disagree with you that smoking or not smoking makes you irresponsible or responsible. If it is anything, it is our culture that made a smoker irresponsible. As you know, smoking does not make a person a lazy man, neither is drinking. Check out the beggers for example(NOT MOCKING), they are completely satisfied with begging. How can a man who does not have any form of deformity fake blindness, or deafness, or lame? It's simply laziness, and you'd be surprised at how good some of them can speak English. As a matter of fact, a principle for me is to only give to beggers with deformities. |
@ snowdrops & Persien: I do know about my body being the temple of the Lord. I recently posted something - "Cold Water Kills You." Check out the link https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-456750.99999.html#bot And tried to explain why, how, and what it does to kill you, but the repliers there refused to agree with me, now I have supported my post with a link and even asked to to inquire from their family doctor. The reason I'm bringing this up is to ask any of you guys - Would you stop drinking cold water because there is the chance it might kill you?- Since you are very familiar as to how important it is to US, at the equator. My point is, it is not only smoking or drinking that can kill you, but anything can, as a matter of fact people who die from smoking or drinking do because they are addicted to it. So it is because they took too much, like wise, you can't take too much sugar, or milk, or bread, , So damaging your body with smoking or drinking is actually a result of taking too much of it. |
U dont need to fight facts- what u dont know is simply beyond u (no hard feelings) . chk up with ur family doctor or the numerous resources on the internet.u can also try this link among others: http://www.healthoma.com/a-glass-of-hot-water-after-meals-reduces-cancer-risk/ |
I just started READING my bible this year. Although I still have a long way to go, I'm beginning to get convinced drinking or smoking is not a sin. If you have a different opinion, please let me know and state which book and verse it is in the bible. And when stating a verse, refer directly to an instruction from God or one of the prophets(men of God) that makes it a sin and not something ambigous that will confuse us or yourself. |
I truly appreciate all the replies/contribution. But please people, can we keep our eyes on the ball. The post is not only to whine, but it is supposed to also make us check ourselves and environment - how it affects Nigeria. Guys: (1) If you like girls being dependent, how do you think that will move you as a person and Nigeria forward? (2) If you prefer girls being independent, please let us know how that would make both parties grow. Girls: (1) Are you independent? Let us know how it has affected you positively. (2) And if you think dependency is the future, let us know why. |
We all love a chillied drink to erase our thirst or just refresh our tastebuds and throat. It is however a researched and verified fact that taking of cold water is actually hazzarduous to the health. This is so because it impedes the ease of digestion especially, that of lipid (oils/ oily foods) and causes it to cake up as bad/ saturated fat which could store up in your blood vessels someplace along the channel. This in turn could restrict blood flow, increase the number of varicose veins and pollute your blood stream when it thaws out in some cases. Medical advice: Reduce cold liquid intake to the minimum and when you must, Try not to take cold water with food. To a longer, healthier life, Ur E-Doc. |
In my previous post "intimacy" is substituted for a word not allowed. So please just indicate if you are male or female. |
I would like to ask every lady and gentleman who read the post to please leave a vote on what they think: Nigerian Girls Are So Independent - YES or NO. Please your vote should be either "YES" or "NO" and please leave your SEX(i.e male or female only please). |
@ afrobaby - you are right about guys, but what stops a girl from a plain reply of "NO!" if you think a guy is for play? @ sonofpeace - You are right about sarcasm. If you live in a world you describe, then good for you and the guys there. But I'm going to introduce voting from both men and women to support the post. @ Woke4all - I'm not saying the topic does not contradict the body of the post, I am saying the topic IS the intended topic, no mistakes. And sonofpeace wrote the right word - SARCASTIC. @ GL - I look forward to meeting more girls like you (THIS IS NOT A PASS). @ Ebonyeyes - If you ask people not to do that, how do you start a change, not to mention effect it? As a matter of fact, in the US, where democracy exists, that's the way President Obama won his winning votes. @ A-40 : Please read and think before replying. @ queeneve - I agree with your conclusions(the last two paragraphs). @ agathamari - I don't think these girls are disrespectful at all. I think it's just the way they are. And the post is to start and encourage the evolution of Nigerian girls to being independent. The effort should come from both the guys and girls. |
@ Woke4all - The topic is as it's meant to be, no mistakes. The body just says that Nigerian girls aren't at all. @ Onchedu - Please note in the body of the topic that I'm well aware that not all girls are dependent. I've met girls who are very independent, and I'm very proud to say I consider them my friend. And I suppose you grew up in a well-off family which means you have friends that come from well-off family(This is just a presumption). If that is true or not, then you should know that the Nigerian wealth category system is a pyramid. With the richest at the pin end top and the poorest at the flat-based bottom. Now if you fall in the category of the average and below Nigeria, you'd definitely relate with what I'm saying. That category is where I grew up, and I and tell you pretty much that it is hard to come across girls who are independent. If anyone has a different opinion about the categories of girls in the average and below Nigerian class, let me know. |
Is this post really as far back as 2006? |
I've always had a problem of getting a relationship with most Nigerian women. I try to find the reasons why and this is my excuse. Nigerian girls are simply too independent. This is not to say that all are. I think the problem is actually the men. I can confidently tell you that Nigerian men have a problem with a woman who can actually think. And when they get married to one who can, it becomes a fist fight - where they can actually win. And this has been tradition with girls as they grow up, except the select few. I hate when (1) Every time you call a girl or a girl calls you, she says you should send a recharge card. (2) You invite a girl for launch at a fast food, and she brings a host of friends to eat all they can. (3) Your girlfriend wants to get admission into a tertiary institution, and you become the registrar etc I can go on with list but I don't want to bore you. Thing is guys do prefer things this way(except for the money spending part). But haven't you heard the saying "Two heads are better than one?" If you won't let girls become as good as you are or better, how do you want to grow? How do you make Nigeria a better place? And girls - I think it is the saddest thing ever to depend on guys on everything in your life (spiritually, emotionally, financially, physically). I want to see a Nigeria were girls can be proud of themselves, and not proud of themselves because they caught a rich/handsome/smart guy. |
This sounds good. I just hope the government or political aspirants won't use the youths for hooliganism. |
