Culture / Re: Do Somalis, ethiopians And Eritreans Consider Themselves As Whites? by EriSaho: 7:34am On Jan 29, 2016
Yes, we are black (I'm Eritrean).

I have never met any of them in real life denying themselves as Black, it's mainly those self insecurity keyboard warriors on the internet for an obvious reason.

Let me ask you something, any Horners here who refuse to call yourself Black, what do European people sees you? It will be only a matter of time they will regret what they said once Europe give them the answer.

the problem is how? Communication is a determinate factor, I just wish she would have a phone where we could Whatsapp
You said she go to normal school so her hearing level is okay (assuming she wear hearing aids). 3 Things you should be aware of:

1) They rely on lipping. Don't talk soft normal as you do with normal people.

2) Raise your voice a bit and don't talk in distance. Always keep close.

3) You can practice hand sign language. Depends where you live, every country have different sign language. It only takes you a month to finish the basics.

When you know her well, you will understand her hearing level meaning you can determine whether if she is able to do that, this or hear etc and she will get used to your voice.

Interesting... Shortage of MEN? So how did that happen?? What went wrong?? All these question we must ask ooo before heading there ooo
Well, the news is fake for the starters but it is true there are shortage of men.

Eritrea is facing population collapse for four reason:

1) More than million Eritreans fled to Sudan during the war. Until 1991, they were physically prevented from returning to their homeland by the gangs of bandits running the country for political reason.

2) Most population especially the vast youth are in the military service (slave labor in disguise). They desert to neighboring countries to avoid life conscription then they would usually become blacklisted from returning.

3) North Korean wannabe started senseless wars against all neighbors around Eritrea -- Djibouti, Sudan, Ethiopia and Yemen despite population being crippped from 40 years of war and 90s civil war. 100,000+ were killed, 500,000 were displaced and most of them also fled outside with no intention of returning.

4) There are more than million refugees combined in Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Yemen and elsewhere in the last decade and diasporas would rather die than returning. Despite having low population in a small and crippled Eritrea with no war but run by a North Korean wannabe who has police checkpoints in every street, require permits, overpopulated prisons, massacres used secretly and other injustice Eritreans face everyday etc..

Politics / Questions About Nigerian Migrants In Libya/eu by EriSaho: 5:54am On Jan 28, 2016
Greeting,

From my understanding is, Nigeria is one of the richest country in Africa and they are progressing very well. They have resources that gives them the advantage to head forward.

So, why do some sizable numbers of Nigerians flee to Libya or Morocco in order to reach Europe in the most dangerous route aka the Mediterranean sea in a broken boat where they could end up drowning which happens often in the last two years?

African migrants are treated like dirt in lawless, war torn and warlord run-Libya where they face slavery and concentration style camp (see VICE on YT), and recently being looked down in Europe?

Isn't Nigeria better than that? What makes them flee when Nigeria is rich? And why is the government not doing anything to stop them from risking their lives?

I hope my tone is not harsh or anything. I just wanna know why they risk themselves fleeing when their country is in a decent position. undecided
Politics / Re: Boko Haram: In Defence Of Govt's Position To Negotiate. by EriSaho: 4:04pm On Jul 04, 2015
You can't compare between Boko Haram to Taliban.

Boko Haram is not idealogically close to the Taliban. Boko Haram is much more extreme whereas Taliban is a lesser extreme and more focused on driving the occupation out like the Vietcong and establish their own rule in their country but the Bokos are targetting on its own population.

How can Boko Haram negotiate with the government when they clearly said they blasphemized (aka made takfeer) on the population who oppose them? There is no way they will accept to negotiate for peace.

Unfortunately, it's the ugly truth. Perhaps a divided Nigeria between the North and South is something they may agree with like the Kurds and Somalia/Somaliland.

democracy is surely the best for every country that loves development.
Indeed!

When you lots broke away from Ethiopia?
What was Eritrea like?

And how was the feeling of a new independent country like?
Unfortunately, there was no freedom after we got our independence in a long 30 years war. You don't wanna know what our current president (Isaias Afewerki) is doing to our people and the country, such a failure but not every rulers is perfect.

There was a repetitive protest outside the country and opposition groups existence (mostly ELF) but it takes no effect on the ground so who knows when freedom will come or not in the future. We all hope he'll be replaced by someone much better.

Largas:
What challenges have you after the civil war?
There was no civil war, it was between Eritrea and Ethiopia.

I'm not sure what you meant, mind explaining again?

Thanks.

Largas: I know nothing more.
You could educate us, Eri mate.

Bit of us are willing to learn.
It has 9 tribes with different languages and the main language are Tigrinya and Arabic. Our culture is similar to Ethiopia.

It was ruled and influenced by Abyssinian Empire, the Arabs, Ottoman then Italy and again Ethiopian Kingdom but shortly after, we fought 30 years to get our independence and earned it.

Hello my friends.

You know, most of the people outside Africa (especially in the West) never heard of the tiny country. sad

So, I'm just wondering whether if Western and Central African fellas actually know what Eritrea is like.

Do you know the country by just the name or the people?

I would like to hear your response.

Greets, from Eri mate.
Religion / Re: The Islamisation Of Nigeria. The Nigerian Constitution Recognises Only Islam. by EriSaho: 1:04pm On Aug 02, 2014
Uncomfortable about the title of this thread, Nigeria is a Muslim majority so why the fuss?
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by EriSaho: 1:02pm On Aug 02, 2014
Northern African Arab countries, Nigeria and South Africa may have decent, modernized and sophiscated military hardwares but it's never about having toys but being loyal, have the courage and the confidence as you know strategic/tactic is always important.

No matter what gears you have, it doesn't count as being the strongest army in the world. The recent example could be the collapse of Mosul months ago where you have an army with two of the strongest backer (Russia/US) who spent billion dollars on military in this hand and some guys with propelled rocket launchers, 4x4 and guns on the other hand yet the second largest city of Iraq fell into ISIS hand. Why? Because they're organized, experienced and focus more strategically. Same goes to Afghanistan and Vietnam.
