Can this country ever enjoy true democracy? We keep talking about voting for parties, voting for clans, zoning bla bla bla, instead of looking for credible people regardless of their party, clan, ethnicity or popularity. My people please grow up. I will vote for sincerity, dignity, professionalism, intelligence, transparency regardless of the party such person with the attributes belong to.

@labalaba4, am not interested in your tongue wagging, and for your information am neither a politician nor an AC member. Am a Lagosian that appreciates where some1 seems to be doing something others have ignored. I support any govt that seems to be working and result oriented. Reserve your tongue wagging and insults to pple of ur like. Instead of you discussing the issue on ground objectively and constructively, you take advantage to show your bias mind against Fashola. We are talking about borehole and its potability vis-a-vis government perception, views and plans, youre talking about govt stealing. Why not leave that for the right topic. Fashola is not so stupid to make a decision without proper strategies put in place. Governance isnt bread and butter, its easy to criticize and condemn thats what we know how to do in Nigeria. I practiced journalism for 10years before retiring to my business, i have come to realize our people's action to the govt. We see them as stand bye enemies, its acceptable where you have insensitive govt., but try to adjust as we are seeing the dividends of democracy. If youre given the mantle you'll realize its not bread and butter. If you have opinion, suggest to the govt., if they make mistake criticize constructively if they are in the middle of a decision as we have with this borehole issue, send signal of your objections rather than curses and condemnation.
We are here to rub minds not flex muscles.

labalaba4:
Ultimately for these goons, it's all about money.

They want to start charging us for water they will not provide - water levy. I repeat, this is their roundabout way of taxing boreholes. Watch as they introduce a "Fit for consumption" certificate, for which they will charge an arm and a leg for every borehole in the state, as another means of raising more money to service all the GBESE that they have accumulated for the state.

The "certificate" will be their "compromise" position after all the expected hue and cry from the public.

I've told you people severally that AC are gangsters, una no gree. Some people here on this site, like Tpiah, Babapupa and Paddylo will continue to believe that the sun shines out of Fashola's rectum, even if he shits on them. My suspicion is that they and other Fashola supporters on this site DO NOT ACTUALLY LIVE IN LAGOS.

FASHOLA MUST GO, TO JAIL, ALONG WITH YEKINI AMODA OGUNLERE, A.K.A. BOLA AHMED TINUBU!!
Why are you bringing politics into this, wont u useless PDP's leave AC alone? We lagosians says we are ok with Fashola Govt. which 1 be ur own? If u want to attack go and attack the MD of water works afterall they are still proposing for the edict Fashola hasnt approve it. Haba! EKO O NI BAJE, , O BAJE TI!
PoliticsRe: Lagos Water Corporation Seeks Bill To Stop Borehole Sinking! by erniewhez(m): 2:47pm On Jul 30, 2010
dnt mind them, they havent said the truth. The issue is people are resolving to borehole because water works like Nepa is not reliable and they are loosing patronage. Thank God there's affordable alternative to their lapses unlike NEPA's.

BusinessRe: Need Advise How 2run Hotel Bssnes, witout Me In 9ija: Tanx Frnds. by erniewhez(m): 6:17pm On Jul 27, 2010
Its always a great risk running a business you wont be there to monitor. Its always better to contract it out and collect your pay up-front. Check in without prior notice and see how your equipments are been taken care of. Try come around when the last payment is about due and make sure you collect your money before leaving. Where the money doesn't seem to be coming, advertise for a new manager to contract the hotel to and don't hesitate if you have a better offer. Ensure constant maintenance to avoid drastic depreciation. If after 2 years you cant cope sell off the place or come home and stay with your biz.

Arlington:
Omoboy ,you don't need to give anybody one naira to tell you anything about an American visa unless you have money to waste.
Your brother in-law should send you a letter of invitation stating that during your stay in the USA you will be staying with them and he will be responsible for everything during your stay, his bank account details (if he is willing too). does your sister have her citizenship yet since you said 3 years i doubt it , i would say it is better if your in-law says he is the one personally inviting you to visit them .
you said you drooped out of school that might be the hard part because the main thing is they want to see something that ties you down to Nigeria meaning something that you have that will bring you back family , a wife, a child ,property or a job .
If you where schooling you would take a letter from your school your ID card , bank statement if you had any cash in it .be ready as they might ask you what you study and what it is about.
The thing is they might not even look at one document they are just watching and listening to your answers.
I sent my sister all kind of documents and they did not look at one just asked her what she was going to do, who she was going to see.she had just 400k in her own bank account and they granted her the visa.Try not to take fake documents there that you can not defend oh!
So just gather the documents you can and be confident and i wish you luck.
I havent said its compulsory for him to pay any1. Its just that it helps when you get counseling. I told him he can get the information he needs on the US consular site and what you dont know is that he has complications and that is why I said he needs an immigration lawyer to see how he goes about rectifying the complications. i.e: the sister may not be the best person to invite him, he has no tie to bring him back, bla, bla bla, Lawyers knows how to address these issues. If you can assist him, its good. If i know how to help him i would as well. But basically genuity is very important. And his confidence before the interviewer.

@omoboy, I told my friend but he said he has a lot doing in his hand now. But you can make it if u follow d rules and guidelines and avoid mistakes. Best of luck.

ds is for professionals, u need a lot of tutorials tht cannot be spilled here. Meet an immigration lawyer to councel you. However you will find the basics on the US immigration website, go online read and understand. But Technically as you know these American wld be looking for any mistake to deny you, thts why ull need experts and its not free.

@olas2u, u dnt knw wht d poster is talking about, not the traditional yoruba Ifa.
@Poster, yes I knw about it but its a long story, It started in SA(South Africa) by an insurance firm. It was claimed to be successful and thereby extended to Nigeria. Its a kind of networking insurance policy sales and getting your % cut on every referral u bring in, i.e. ur downstream, if ure conservant with network marketing. We call it PYRAMID. I was in it but gave it up cos it requires some1 tht is less busy and can talk and convince pple, it requires regular seminar hostings and constant check by phone mails or visitation of ur downstream. And it requires regular servicing of your insurance premium to no default otherwise ure out, unless they have re-adjust some measures. Its a good stuff if pple do really understand it. If youre very serious about it i can introduce you 2 my upstream, he is versatile and still in.

Common ure a man. This stuff happened to my blossom friend and just as i am telling u and ure still, doubting i was telling him until the girl decided to have intimacy with me and i blew it up 2 my frnd b4 his eyes got opened wide. not too long we found out she was preg for her cousin. WAKE UP BROTHER! Use much of her and dump her. This will be my last say on this ok?

RomanceRe: Is She Tired Of Me by erniewhez(m): 11:01am On Jul 20, 2010
@roots, this lady is capitalizing on your weakness, she knows that you love her and she is taking advantage of you. she wants to eat her cake and have it. She wants to keep you not because she still loves you but because of the financial gains you've been giving to her. Yes she has found something in her neighbor that attracts him to her, am sure she must have had intimacy with him. Try tell her you're giving up the relationship just to test her, you will see that she wont feel sober. She just don't know how to tell you goodbye because she will be an ingrate and you will hate her for life. So she will rather frustrate you until you give up by yourself. My advice is don't bother about all you've done for her, let her go if she wants, you'll be compensated someway somehow. That guy has something she loves and you don't have it. Probably the guy is more educated than you, or handsome than you or richer than you or more sexually good than you. Its better you marry someone that loves you for whatever you are and enjoy everlasting marriage than someone who is forced to marry you because you have done some goods in her life.

PoliticsRe: No More Multiple Taxation by erniewhez(m): 2:36pm On Jul 13, 2010
Now I can breathe a breath of relief. But I have a little problem I don't know how to address at this point. The local council's imposed inflated levies on me, I spotted that what was behind the bill as stipulated charging rate was lower than what was written in the front as my billing due. I contested it with the local council officials and as a law abiding citizen, I told them I will only pay what am due as stated at the back of the bill, but for familiarity purpose, being my regular client and to retain the patronage I gave them as gift a cash sum and went to pay the actual due to the bank. But to my surprise they came back not aware that I have already paid to the bank that I should not pay for radio & television, instead I should give them N2,000 and they will include everything in the receipt of the N10,500 I have paid to the bank. This raised my curiosity so I didnt present the teller I use to pay at the Bank I told them am yet to pay. After they left, I investigated the issue and was told those particular council officials are not responsible for radio & tele. At this point I halted. With this new information, what do I do with the N10,500 teller i have paid to the LGA Account? What rate do I request receipt for?

kieryn:
Family. Either balance the two or get another job. Time spent with family is irreplaceable.
You sound as if one can always pick jobs on the street whenever one need a new job, lol! Am sure youre self employed, otherwise you wont make that statement.
walcolm:
Well, if you are ever called to make a choice between your family and your job, then always choose your family

but if there's no reason to choose one or the other, then its everyone's duty to balance both and make sure one does not suffer because of the other. if you spend too much time at work, you'll loose your family and if you spend too much time at home, you'll loose your job. it is that simple
Walcom I go with ur opinion.

2 Timothy 3v13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing

them.
Endure to the end and be a light to others around you. Jesus is coming soon.
@Image123, yeah! 2Tim 3v13-14 should be the watchword for the genuine christian to keep focused not minding the negative situations around them, but please what do u thnk we can do about these preachers tht are trading redemption for prosperity?
Christianity EtcHypocrisy In Churches What % by erniewhez(op): 8:55pm On Jul 11, 2010
This Sunday morning, I went to drop a family member at his church and had to walk a long distance because everywhere was filled up with cars and people have to go miles to park. The crowd amazed me and I became interested to worship with the church for the 1st time to see what could have attracted so much crowd. While in the church I looked around and was surprised to see some faces around, faces I have known with yahoo yahoo, fraudsters, adulterers just name it. These people are up to date in these shady deals yet there in church like holiest of hollies. Meanwhile the Pastor was busy preaching prosperity. Yeah! We know its the sinners that God wants in church to save their souls, but I guess the Pastors are missing it all and I don't think these people can ever change their ways without been preached the redemption of soul rather than prosperity. Now I wonder if we don't have up to 75% hypocrites in churches. Its my observation am not judging but we need to look into this.
