Pidgin2: It won't go far for you because you now think like a Westerner but for most pure breed Nigerians I assure you that this money will go far even for land or investment e.g.Tbills, this is why it's important to visit often so that you will learn and understand what people are doing. A lot can be done with N10 million naira. @ukmigrant (sorry for this post but i need to put this Lady/man in his or her place)
@pidgin2 no sane person with N10m cash will invest in nigeria unless that person is ignorant. why you ask ?. when you have the likes of a. currupt officials from previous Head of states e.g Obj selling NePa,Nitel etc to Cops, immigration, custom, civil servants,teachers/lecturers even a kid of 5yrs in nigeria has the bloodline of curruption flowing in his blood or have we forgotten b.BH c.HEARDSMEN d.EVANS e. RITUALIST F.INTERNET SCAMMERS G.Lack of LIGHT,PIPEBORNE WATER,STABLE CURRENCY
the list is endless.
how do you expect one to start a business and earn a stable profit ? for Godsake even humans can't insure their lifes talkless of property, then why invest the first place.

BlowJobs: I haven't gone though the naturalization process. i Think they give you questions to study for the citizenship test. it includes US history, cultures, politics and general information.
About Racism: Honestly, i haven't dealt with racism here. No one has ever said any racist remarks to my face. People show bias tho. i see how some people relate to white foreigner from another country and me. they show bias like they automatically just feel comfortable around that person. Maybe skin color has something to do with it, i really don't know. I am an open minded person. I believe people tend to choose things/other people they easily relate to. Also, living here as a minority (especially a black man) has its PROS too. White ladies literally throw themselves at me. Its like a fantasy thing. Everyone wants to try new things. its like eating fried rice every day and someone offered you jollof rice+ chicken one afternoon. I have turned down several sexual advances (let's hang out blah blah). Some are bold as to ask you if you really have a BBC. as a black man especially someone on a visa, you need to be careful. Women can make sexual advances towards you and you say no and turn them down. If you flip the script, you can be sued for sexual Harassment.
Also, don't let no one intimidate you. A lot of people are really ignorant. they are surrounded by so much information and don't know anything Don't assume that because someone was born and lives here means they are smart. A lot are really dumb, don't let the accent fool you. I get asked ignorant question every time. i am tired of answering them.
No gangs here, no gang related violent. The major things here is people on drugs. Someone Overdosed across the street from me few weeks back. These people can't stay off drugs. It is a big problem. The gang related violent is in Massachusetts. The thing common here is "white trash". I don't know how to explain it. Like low life scums sort of people the bolded Got me like |

@BJ wanted to ask:
1. before becoming a citizen either via marriage or required year of stay are you expected to. (a) learn their national anthem/pledge (b) know the full 44 states etc
2.your location is a white populated area, how do you deal with Racist & intimidation to minorities?
3. have you witness any Gang related viloance, or Gun violence ?
(please ignore my method of asking like an exam question)
Regards.

At Op please your Honest review about this thread
www.nairaland.com/4144074/lies-nigerians-living-america
and this saying
The funniest and most expensive joke I have heard from Nigerians doing menial jobs in the US. and earning between $1,500- $2,000, is claiming that they are richer than bank managers in Nigeria. I guess they make their money in America while spending it in Nigeria. This stupid joke need to stop. A Nigerian doing menial job in the US. at best can be compare to someone receiving 80,000 Monthly in Nigeria in purchasing power. A Nigerian doing odd jobs for 10 yrs will still be paying rent while a 10 yrs bank manager would have long built two to three houses with a lucrative investment. Nigerians in America need to stop converting currencies because it is clearly stated that if you earn $12,000 annually in America you are living in poverty

BlowJobs: YES!!!, please join. It is just a google search away.
I just googled it: http://aaahq.org/About The American Accounting Association is the largest community of accountants in academia. Founded in 1916, we have a rich and reputable history built on leading-edge research and publications. The diversity of our membership creates a fertile environment for collaboration and innovation. Collectively, we shape the future of accounting through teaching, research and a powerful network, ensuring our position as thought leaders in accounting.
Also from their website: http://aaahq.org/Membership From fewer than 100 accounting professors in 1916, AAA has grown to over 7,000 members in more than 75 countries. AAA's many resources serve you as a scholar, educator, or practitioner. Above all, AAA membership brings you networking opportunities with colleagues from around the world, plus exciting new initiatives. Join or renew your membership today!
I will advise students and Professional Nigerians to join reputable organizations. You get to know the exams you need to write to work in other countries, requirements, schools, classified job adverts etc. And you get invited to meetings and events all over the world. thanks man |

BlowJobs: I am not saying it is Visa is automatic. but use your initiative
If you're a Nigerian student studying Civil engineering for example, join a reputable industry Association in the US. when they have events, they will invite you and possibly give you discounts and send you all the paper works. Most times, they ask students to submit papers on a particular industry topic, if your paper is accepted, most times they will pay for your trips or give you higher discounts since you will be presenting
If you are a pharmacists for example, join a reputable association as an industry person, when they have events, you will get invites.
same thing applies to other professions.
These are better reasons of Visa than "visiting my gf, attending my friend's graduation, i just want to spend vacation in the US, going to buy clothes, going shopping and all other unreasonable excuses.
Do your assignment well. Visas are harder in Naija. and as an accoutant should also join a reputable association ? if yes how do one get in contact with those association and how to join them ? thanks. |

Only when he powered it on and I saw it move did I realize what it was. Apparently, it's a rechargeable motorized skateboard. Smart thinking.
