I don't wish Nigeria Pat as d president ...he is intelligent but a coward. |
NLC should shut their backstabbing mouth up. If it is a fight we must fight, leave the people to fight their own battle. No more riding on the people's back to become a committee member. |

THEIR MISTAKE , OUR STRENGTH A new consciousness, a new hope has been awakened, let us nurture it and keep it alive even after this protest Labour position on fuel subsidy is for FG to revert back to N65 and continue discussion on deregulation of downstream oil industry where it was stopped Civil society position demands reversal to N65 on fuel subsidy and as well as discussion for accountability within the government The positions of labour and civil society are similar with the aims of achieving a better society and I believe they are not asking for too much. This is a democratic setting…….accountability and public opinion are part of numerous tenets of democracy It was federal government who aborted the discussion on fuel subsidy by going ahead without having reached a conclusive point with labour…, a display of government arrogance and disregard for public opinion They never thought we could be united in our demand and they never dreamed we could be on the street together asking for revolution They thought the country is too big, diverse and that they have successfully divided us with religion and politics We have long waited for unity to speak with one voice against corruption, but never succeeded until they made this grand mistake of removing subsidy, This has brought us together. Now majority of masses have been forced to come and make demands not only on subsidy but cost of governance Their mistake has created hope for the masses…the fallacy of government impunity has been confronted Now they know we will ask many questions at any roundtable talks with them They threaten, maim and kill with Police, Army, NDLEA among others. Not knowing that what we have is eternal and cannot be killed any longer. They are now protecting the monsters created by them that are killing our economy…, security votes for the president and governors , national assembly constituency allowances, unjustified allowances for ministries among others He who comes to equity must come with clean hands….they should stop killing the economy first A new consciousness, a new hope has been awakened, let us nurture it and keep it alive even after this protest Because this is surely a path to a new Nigeria Let us keep the hope alive because this is surely the weapon that will be used to visit their sins on them at the right time. Long Live Nigeria. |
i am an existing tenant who is about to make payment for the next yearly house rent, what is the law position and what is the right thing to do? If the landlord asks for a year rent what should do? Pls matured responses . Any successful legal cases on tenancy laws. THANKS A LOT |
WHY LABOUR MUST INSIST ON N65 Nigerian masses started this protest, labour only provided the platform Nigerian masses’ position is clear…N65 per litre, No to subsidy removal Anything apart from N65 has not addressed government reasons or leakages for wanting to take the subsidy away in the first place. There should be a roundtable discussion on subsidy between the government and masses representatives made of labour, TUC AND Civil Society leaders. Nigerian masses are not opposed to discussion on why it should be removed. The economic argument on fuel subsidy removal is understood and persuasive. Notwithstanding, the following have to be addressed at the roundtable before looking at the argument of fuel subsidy: Government corruption has already impoverished the masses Government corruption has eroded public trust Government cost of governance is scandalous from the federal to local government and is not supporting government argument on fuel subsidy. NNPC subsidy claim is unfounded, fraudulent and should be seriously investigated….it is a monumental fraud and a disgrace to our nationhood. Government officials staggering disregard to due process is alarming as evident in NNPC dealing with payment of subsidy and award of oil allocation. The truth remains that if Government decides to tackle corruption today, 80% of our problem can be dealt with. Infrastructure is bad Power provision is low Drinking water provision has long been neglected State of insecurity is alarming. The argument that until subsidy is removed, social amenities/services cannot be provided is flawed and untenable. In the first place, for more than 50 years of our independence we should have gone beyond these issues of infrastructure, power and security (needless to say to that it is the basic reason why people are opposed to this subsidy removal), considering how blessed we are with natural resources. Seriously, government has no moral justification for saying they cannot provide social amenities until subsidy is dumped on the masses considering the number and amount of corruption cases we have had in the past, which involved huge amount of money. This should have been used to solve the issues of infrastructure, power and security. I dare to say this without mincing words that if each of our past presidents, from the time of IBB to the present president Goodluck Jonathan , if well probed can provide the sum we need for these infrastructure, power and security problems. But it is sad to hear that all these people are also cabals to our government and very well untouchable. Our government is weak to these cabals but very strong to the weak masses. We need a government that can tackle corruption. Government should revert back to N65 per litre and no more. After we have had serious commitments with government in the areas of tackling corruption, infrastructure, power and security, we can then look at subsidy removal issues. |
Bakare is a great man. very frank and honest. victory belongs to the people. there shall be a new nigeria devoid of corruption |
Production is not complète until it reaches d final consumer. SANUSI is confused. whether particular commodity is subsidized at early stage or later stage of production does not matter, what matter is to tackle d corruption that is making it ineffective. |

Let us all organize at different local government council & secretariat. we need to do something to stop this mess. let us tell them how we want to be governed. we should benchmark our spendings on great countries expenditure patterns such as china as mentioned here. please let us fight for millions of unemployed youth, the homeless, bad road, poor power supply, poor education system, poor health, insecurity.
