I don't know much about Afrinvest. As for all the stockbrokers who services I have experienced, assuming I buy 100 units of A @ 1 per share with total commission 1%, the cost price per share will be 1.01. If I later buy additional 20 units of A @ 2 per share with 1 % commission. The new cost per share will be (1.01 * 100 + 2.02 * 20) ÷ 120 = 1.18
For this exact same scenario you did now, Afrinvest will calculate it and your new Average cost will be N1.515 which will be approximated to N1.52

* It depends.....and boils down on different scenarios.
* It depends on whether you're averaging up or averaging down......and at what price for each purchases.
* Also bear in mind that buying charges are included and spread on purchase costs.
The issue is the Portal. It calculates Average Cost by adding the previous Average Cost to the present Market Price, and just divides it by 2, regardless of the units of shares bought on both occasions

There is one very wrong thing that most stockbroking firms do. When you previously have 1,000 units of Stock A at the Cost Price of N1.00 and you later buy same just 10 units of same Stock A, when the price is now N2.00, they just add up the 2 prices and give you a new Average Cost of N1.50 Am I the only one that sees this practice as being very wrong?

I hope my money no enter voicemail for DIRECT CASH SETTLEMENT so?
It sounds like you're experiencing a delay in receiving the proceeds from selling your Japaul stocks on the Meritrade platform. The customer care agent mentioned that your account is set up for Direct Cash Settlement, which means the funds should be transferred to your bank account within three working days.

Since today is January 31st, 2025, and you sold the stocks on January 24th, 2025, you're right to expect the funds by now. Here are some steps you can take:

- Contact Meritrade's Customer Care Again: Reach out to the customer care team and inquire about the status of your payment. They may be able to provide more information or escalate the issue.
- Check Your Bank Account: Double-check your bank account to ensure that the funds haven't been deposited yet. Sometimes, delays can occur due to banking processes.
- Verify Your Account Details: Ensure that your bank account details are correctly registered with Meritrade. Any discrepancies might cause delays or issues with the payment.

If you're still unable to resolve the issue, you may want to consider contacting the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for further assistance.

I already know that Muslims are violent creatures. What I do not understand is why the owner of Nairaland is so scared of Muslims. Always be Neutral.

That's because Muslims are very fragile, soft and weak that they might even blow themselves up if provoked. The oath is to keep others out from provoking them, I guess.
Yet Muslims are allowed to speak to Christians topics anyhow they like because Christians are not very fragile, soft and weak ?

So ridiculous.

This will not make front page for obvious reasons. Personally, I don't see any justification for such restrictions. This observation has been raised several times to no avail. Seun gives free access to Islamic lunatics to masturbate freely on Christians' topics
I noticed it too. Maybe the owner of Nairaland is a Yoruba Muslim.

Yes, I came out because of E tranzact and CWG.
These used to be stocks of low profit margins in the past but today they have repositioned.Wait for CHAMS result any moment from now and see with your eyes how far they have improved.
Apart from omatek and NCR that needs restructuring, other stocks in the ICT sector are candidates of N10,N15,N20.
Cwg,E tranzact and Chams ,your own time has come.

I came back in peace.
Welcome back. But ETranzact is an illiquid stock.

But if the topic is a Christian topic, they make no restrictions. They allow everyone to discuss in it. Why?
