The Dangote Refinery's impact on the dollar exchange rate in Nigeria is a topic of interest. With the refinery's production capacity and the Naira-for-crude policy, some experts believe it could lead to a reduction in demand for dollars, potentially causing a decrease in the exchange rate. Here are some possible reasons why the Dangote Refinery might influence the dollar exchange rate: 1. Reduced demand for dollars: By producing petroleum products locally, the refinery will reduce Nigeria's reliance on imported petroleum products, which are typically paid for in dollars. This decrease in demand for dollars could lead to a decrease in the exchange rate. 2. Increased Naira stability: The Naira-for-crude policy, which allows indigenous refineries to buy crude oil in Naira, could help stabilize the Naira by reducing the need for dollar transactions. 3. Improved trade balance: The refinery's production will reduce Nigeria's trade deficit, as the country will import fewer petroleum products. This improvement in the trade balance could lead to a stronger Naira. 4. Economic growth: The refinery's operation is expected to boost economic growth, create jobs, and increase government revenue. A growing economy can lead to a stronger currency. However, it's essential to note that the impact of the Dangote Refinery on the dollar exchange rate will depend on various factors, including: 1. Global oil prices 2. Nigeria's oil production levels 3. Government policies and regulations 4. Market dynamics and speculation While the Dangote Refinery's operation might have a positive impact on the Naira, it's unlikely to single-handedly crash the dollar exchange rate. The exchange rate is influenced by a complex array of factors, and the refinery's impact will likely be one of many contributing factors. |

Canada can revoke a person's citizenship under certain circumstances. According to the Canadian Citizenship Act, citizenship can be revoked if: 1. Obtained by false representation or fraud 2. Obtained by knowingly concealing material circumstances 3. Person has been convicted of a serious crime, such as treason, terrorism, or war crimes 4. Person has engaged in organized crime or human rights violations In Amaka Patience Sunnberger's case, if the Canadian government finds her comments incite violence and genocide, they might investigate and potentially revoke her citizenship. However, this would require a thorough legal process, and the decision would depend on the specific circumstances and evidence. It's worth noting that Canada has revoked citizenship in the past for individuals convicted of serious crimes, such as terrorism or war crimes. However, each case is unique and subject to legal review. |
That's an interesting scenario! While it's not uncommon for people to engage in leisure activities during breaks or downtime, the fact that the accountant is browsing Bet9ja (a betting platform) while waiting for a job interview raises some concerns. As the MD or HR, I would consider the following factors before making a decision: 1. Professionalism: Is this behavior reflective of his professional attitude and work ethic? 2. Judgment: Does his decision to engage in betting activities during an interview wait time demonstrate good judgment? 3. Integrity: Could this behavior be indicative of potential integrity issues or conflicts of interest in his work? 4. Distractibility: Might his focus on betting activities distract him from work responsibilities or impact his productivity? Considering these factors, I might still choose to interview him to assess his qualifications, skills, and fit for the role. However, I would also want to discuss this incident during the interview to understand his perspective and gauge his level of self-awareness and accountability. Ultimately, the decision to hire would depend on his overall performance during the interview, his ability to address my concerns, and whether I believe he would be a good fit for the company culture and values. |

UFC star Israel Adesanya has sparked controversy with his comments about Lagos women, stating that most of them are "runs girls" (a local term for prostitutes) and that their lifestyles are financed by prostitution. He made these comments in a video shared on his social media handle, where he also urged them to be friendly and nice instead of being proud. Adesanya's comments have likely caused offense and sparked debate, with some people defending his right to express his opinions and others criticizing him for making sweeping generalizations about women in Lagos. It's worth noting that Adesanya's comments come after his recent visit to Lagos, where he was received warmly despite his recent loss in the UFC. His comments may be seen as a way of speaking his mind and sharing his observations, but they have also sparked controversy and highlighted the need for respectful and considerate language when discussing women and their choices. |
This report highlights the devastating issue of human trafficking and forced prostitution of young Nigerian girls in Ivory Coast. The victims, some as young as 13, are lured with false promises of employment and sold into sexual slavery. They are forced to undergo prostitution, with little to no control over their lives or bodies. The report reveals a well-organized trafficking network, involving recruiting agents, madams, and corrupt immigration officials. The victims are subjected to physical and emotional abuse, including starvation and beatings. The story of Sara, a young girl who was trafficked and forced into prostitution, is particularly heartbreaking. She was promised a job selling body lotion but ended up in a brothel, forced to work to pay off debts to her madam. The report emphasizes the need for action to address this issue, including increased scrutiny of immigration officials, support for victims, and prosecution of traffickers. It also highlights the importance of addressing the root causes of trafficking, such as poverty and unemployment in Nigeria. This is a tragic reminder of the need to protect vulnerable individuals, especially children, from exploitation and abuse. |

There's this guy who started working at my workplace in February last year. Of all the ladies that were there, he chose to make only me his friend. We got along well. He asked a lot of questions, and I gave him detailed responses, I was indirectly orienting him. Within a few weeks, he was already receiving accolades from our boss for working hard and being diligent. All the ladies started throwing themselves at him, but he didn't really mind anyone. He kept only me as his friend, and it made me happy and proud. About two months later, he invited me for dinner at a restaurant around the airport residential area. I went, and after we had spoken for long, he made it known to me that he admired me and would love for us to start a relationship. I was already in l0ve with him before he made that proposal but I didn't want him to feel like I was yearning for him or I already wanted it like the other ladies so I turned down his proposal at that moment. He didn't talk much, he just said it was fine and then we went home. Days later, he got me a flower and some perfumes and added a note that he wanted me to reconsider his proposal. That was where I fell completely in love with him but I wanted to play hard to catch so I told him I wasn't ready, that I was still recovering from my ex and was scared of men. He tried again for the third time by taking me to the beach and trying to convince me he was different. I told him at the beach to give me some days to think about it. Three days later, he asked if I had thought of something, and my response was simply "not yet." Bro Kwaku, can you believe that from that time till the guy never asked me anything concerning relationship again? I waited days for him to ask, so I tell him I was ready, but he never did. He only discussed work, work, work with me. I was single and waiting for him to just raise it. What should I do now as a Lady? #Copied
