MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING BEST FRIEND OVER N3M

Police operatives in Kano have arrested a middle-aged man, Sadiq Zubairu, for allegedly killing his best friend, Bello Adam after collecting N3 million.
The suspect, a staff of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), collected the money, with the promise of helping the victim secure with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). He later hired two assassins to help him kill the victim.
The spokesman for the state police command, Haruna Abdullahi, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, said the suspect was arrested on May 5 after a report of a missing person was lodged by the deceased’s family. The statement read: “On 05/05/2024 at about 10:00 a.m., report was received from a resident of Zawaciki Quarters in Kumbotso LGA, Kano State that his elder brother, Bello Bukar Adam, a KEDCO staff, aged 45 years old of Zawaciki Housing Estate, Kano, had left his home with his Toyota Corolla motor vehicle, ash in colour since on 04/05/2024 and his whereabouts is unknown. “On the evening of the same date, there was a report that the deceased body of a male adult had been discovered abandoned at the outskirts of Eastern Bypass, around Bechi Village in Kumbotso LGA, Kano State. “The body was removed from the scene by a team of crime-scene policemen led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Kumbotso Division, SP Mustafa Abubakar, who brought the corpse to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where a medical doctor certified the body dead. “Accordingly, the team immediately swung into action and arrested one Sadiq Zubairu, aged 35 years old of Hotoron Arewa Quarters, Nassarawa LGA on 06/05/2024 at 9 a.m. “During preliminary investigations, the suspect confessed that he conspired with two others and jointly lured the victim to his house who until his death were intimate friends. He narrated that he tied him up, and hit him with sticks and sharp iron on his head and other parts of his body until he became motionless. “Thereafter, he loaded the motionless body inside the boot of the deceased’s vehicle, threw him off by the roadside along Eastern Bypass, around Bichi Village and left away with the motor vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, 2015 model including his mobile phone. “The suspect further confessed that what led to this regrettable incident was after he deceitfully collected the sum of three million naira (N3,000,000:00) from him on the pretext that he would secure a job offer for him. “But having realised that he had no means of returning the money to him, he hired two hefty guys, conspired with them, killed him and hid the motor vehicle at a garage in Hotoro Quarters, Kano. The vehicle has since been however recovered by the police.”

23-YEAR-OLD STUDENT, ARRESTED FOR THE KIDNAP & MURDER OF BEST FRIEND IN NIGERIA

A 300-level student of Philosophy at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ogun State, Ayomide Adeleye, has been arrested over the kidnap and alleged murder of Christiannah Idowu, a student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The gruesome kidnap and murder of Christiannah have generated condemnation on social media as Nigerians are demanding justice and immediate prosecution of the alleged killer.
Information gathered by our correspondent revealed that 23-year-old Ayomide had confessed to the crime.
According to a detailed report, Christiannah Idowu was declared missing on August 19, 2024, after her parents were contacted by her abductors via her own WhatsApp account. The first contact with her parents occurred around 8:49 p.m., followed by photos of Christiannah in captivity, sent using WhatsApp’s ‘view once’ feature.
The abductors demanded a ransom of N1,500,000. Christiannah’s parents were said to have managed to raise N350,000 immediately.
The abductors then instructed that the money be deposited into a betting account through a bank deposit (details withheld).
After receiving the money, on August 22, the abductors requested that the bank statement of the sender be forwarded to an email. The family, reportedly complied.
However, the abductors ceased communication immediately afterwards.
On August 22, an amount was said to have been transferred into Christiannah’s GTBank account and subsequently withdrawn into a Wema Bank account belonging to the primary suspect (name withheld for now).
By August 29, Police sources hinted that intelligence operatives confirmed with the bank that the BVN linked to the masked betting account allegedly belonged to the suspect, who also operates the Wema Bank account (account number withheld for now).
Further investigation as gathered, revealed that the suspect withdrew N100,000 from the betting account before agents could have the account blocked.
Operatives reportedly began investigating the suspect, who is said to have a mutual relationship with Christiannah, as evidenced by their Instagram interactions.
The same account number was said to have been used to launder money from Christiannah’s account which was previously posted on Twitter soliciting a giveaway.
With all this information, operatives reportedly tracked the suspect’s phone activities and messages, leading them to his parent’s house in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
Active tracking further confirmed his presence at the location, with Nigerian Army personnel from the 174th Battalion effecting his arrest.
The suspect’s phone was said to have contained details of the money transferred and also confirmed ownership of the betting account. It also reportedly showed correspondence between his email and the email used to communicate with Christiannah’s family.
After reviewing the evidence, the suspect was reportedly taken into custody for further investigation.
A few days later, the suspect reportedly confessed to both his father and soldiers that he had killed Christiannah and buried her at his home.
An unconfirmed report said that the suspect’s ex-girlfriend was killed in 2018, similarly, and in 2020, his biological sister met the same fate.
Reacting to the trend Human rights activist lawyer and alumni of OOU, Festus Ogun, said “I’m so embarrassed that this boy is a student of OOU. On behalf of the management and alumni of OOU, we disassociate ourselves from him. He doesn’t represent our values. #JusticeForChristianah”
When contacted, Lagos State Police Spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the Nigerian Army had handed over Ayomide, to the Police.
Hudenyin in a message he shared on his X handle wrote: “23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to #LagosPoliceNG by 9 Brigade #HQNigerianArmy. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 1400hrs. The investigation is ongoing”.

The Delta State Police Command has arrested one Mr. Efe Onoetiyi for the gruesome murder of his best friend, Paulinus Okon, after misappropriating over N30 million from the deceased.
Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, revealed the details during a press briefing on Monday, where Onoetiyi and four accomplices were paraded.
Describing Onoetiyi’s case as particularly painful, the CP told journalists, “Paulinus was reported missing on September 8, 2024, by his brother after he went out with his friend Efe Onoitiyi, 30.
The suspect, Efe Onoitiyi, who initially denied knowing what happened to Paulinus came to Paulinus’s house to ask his family about him. “He was confronted that the deceased went out with him on that same date which he denied that the deceased did not go out with him. On a later date, Efe came back and demanded N500,000 from the deceased’s brother that he would use the money to pay an herbalist who could tell them Paulinus’s whereabouts. “Efe again came and informed the family that Paulinus was kidnapped and he collected a ransom of about N20,715,000 from the deceased brother claiming that he was in touch with the kidnappers. “When it became obvious that Efe had something to hide, he was arrested and the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, State Headquarters Asaba. “On November 28 2024, I directed the DPO Ekpan to take over the case and ensure that a discrete investigation was carried out to fish out those responsible, as the main suspect, Efe, was not yielding.”
The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, where further investigation led to the arrest of one Okeimute Gaga. Gaga confessed that Onoetiyi, along with accomplices—Sunday Ikpeba and Lawrence Joseph, a herbalist—lured Paulinus to Orere River in Otokutu, where they bound him to a stake and beheaded him on the night of September 8, 2024. He added, “His body was thrown into the river while the herbalist took the head of Paulinus and buried him at his shrine in Otokutu. The DPO, Ekpan Police station, led police operatives to the shrine in Otokutu where the skull of Paulinus was exhumed and recovered.”
During interrogation, Efe admitted to the murder, revealing that he diverted N30 million Paulinus gave him to buy a house for personal projects, including purchasing two lands and building a duplex. He added that he masterminded Paulinus’ murder to cover up the misappropriation of the N30m.
The CP also disclosed that the suspects, including the herbalist, are in custody, with all confessing to their roles in the crime.
Lamenting the incident, Olufemi urged the public to be vigilant about their associations, especially during the festive season. He also expressed concern over poor parenting, particularly the lack of focus on raising male children.
In a chilling conclusion, the suspects admitted they had sacrificed Paulinus’s head to the gods of the community.

ABUJA: MAN USES CUTLASS TO KILL HIS BEST FRIEND AFTER SERVING HIM FOOD TO EAT

A 23-year-old man, Iliayasu Mohammed, has been arrested for allegedly killing his close friend, Safillahi Muhammad. Mohammed has invited his close friend for a meal at his home in Dantata Village, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, where he ended his life. According to the FCT Police Command, Mohammed reportedly served Muhammad food, before attacking him with a cutlass. The tragic incident occurred on February 13, 2025.
Police Respond to Distress Call
Confirming the incident, the FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, stated that officers responded to an emergency call at about 1:30 PM and arrived at the scene shortly after. "Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim lying unconscious in a pool of blood with multiple deep cuts on his head and body. "He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead," Adeh said in a statement on Wednesday, February 19.
Suspect linked to criminal activities
Preliminary investigations revealed that Mohammed, who hails from Dakwa in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, had a history of criminal activities. "Further inquiries showed that the suspect is an ex-convict and a member of a criminal gang that targets motorcyclists for theft. "During interrogation, he admitted to the crime and provided information about his accomplices, including a fugitive gang leader identified as Hassan," Adeh added.
Police intensify efforts to arrest accomplices
The police have launched a manhunt for other members of the syndicate who are currently on the run. "The FCT Commissioner of Police urges residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities. The command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens," the statement concluded. Mohammed is expected to be arraigned in court upon the completion of investigations.

1) “She talks too much!” — Deborah*, 15: It’s one thing to have a talkative friend. It’s another to have a friend who talks so much they make you want to disappear. Deborah*, 15, shares: “Ever since we got to SS1, it was like she couldn’t stop talking—about other people, her private life, things that didn’t concern her, just cho cho cho all the time. If the claimant does not publicly make this known in less than 3 months from the date, the harassment took place, then the claimant, he or she, shall forever hold their peace about it. Enough is enough of this coming to claim Sexual Harassment after a very long time from when the act took place.
3. Let the Law clearly state that the official reporting or law suit of a claimant of Sexual Harassment should be an independent case, not triggered by any other event or situation, other than the fact that Sexual Harassment was committed against him or her.
