Sometime in 2016 the Enugu State government started work on the Enugu part of the express way and was able to cover some KM. Towards end of last year 2017 seem the Federal government took over from Enugu State government and since the take over, work has stopped and the Federal government has resulted to mischievously campaigning with the part completed by the Enugu State government.
