trutharena:we need to be serious in this country for once. |
This is very recent. When I was growing up in the early 80's you wouldn't need up to 2 Naira for all that. I used to get 10 kobo daily from my parents to buy snacks at school. |
Shadomaan7:pls read the post again. I am speaking against the NNPC for taking actions that are detrimental and harmful to Nigeria's economy. They should stop the imports of refined petroleum products into Nigeria and provide Nigerian refineries (including Dangote) with locally produced Crude Oil and see how the economy will be boosted. |
Salewa97:i disagree with you. This has to do with imports and export, crude oil, energy costs etc. Whatever they do will have an effect on the economy. |
Let us be serious in this Country for once |
-40% of the pressure on forex in Nigeria is for the importation of refined petroleum products - Dangote currently refines enough products to meet domestic consumption and to spare. - If Nigeria stops imports of refined petroleum products, the pressure on our forex will be reduced by as much as 40%. It will also help to reduce the terrible deficit in our balance of trade. Leading to the massive appreciation of the Naira. This is not rocket science. - A barrel of crude oil currently sells for about $80 per barrel. With the exchange rate hovering around N1,700 to a Dollar. When pressure is reduced on our forex as a result of an end to imports of refined products, the Naira can appreciate to about N1000 to a USD. That means refineries in Nigeria will need less Naira to buy each barrel of Crude oil. This will lead to a drop in pump prices and inflation. - Unfortunately, NNPC not only continues to issue licences to companies to import refined petroleum products, its policies also make it very difficult for Dangote refinery and other Nigerian refineries to buy crude locally thereby forcing them to import crude. What a shame. - what baffles me most is when I see fellow Nigerians supporting actions like these, thinking they are harming Dangote. When in fact we are missing an opportunity to salvage whatever is left of Nigeria's fragile economy.

slimfit1:no serious investor will collect land and keep it fallow for 20 years. |
DonBenny77:your bad energy and negativity will only affect you, while Wike keep on progressing. Can't you see that? |
Most of you shouting monopoly don't understand the implications of continuing importation of petroleum products. 40% of the pressure on forex in Nigeria is for the importation of refined petroleum products - Dangote currently refines enough products to meet domestic consumption and to spare. - If Nigeria stops imports of refined petroleum products, the pressure on our forex will be reduced by as much as 40% leading to the massive appreciation of the Naira. - A barrel of crude oil currently sells for about $80 per barrel. That means refineries in Nigeria will need less Naira to buy each barrel of Crude oil. This will lead to a drop in pump prices and inflation. - by continuing to issue licences to import refined petroleum products, NNPC is killing our economy. This nonsense has to stop |

EmeeNaka:daft comment |
Why are you guys creating threads with very old videos and making it look like something that just happened? This is an old video. |
This is a very old video. This was at the begining when Fubara demolished the Rivers State House of Assembly. |
All the commenters above me talking tough like they will be there to help Fubara. Some may not really understand that the Rivers State House of Assembly members on that stage are empowered by law to actually impeach a governor. I'm just interested to watch if Fubara will refuse to obey when the Supreme Court rules in a short time that he should go and present the budget to the Martin Amaewhule led RSHA. |
socialjustice93:there is nothing to worry about. Let her tell her doctor that she is Rhesus negative and mention the issues she is having. The doctor will inject her with Rhogam and fix dates for check up and she will 100% have her baby with no issues. |
socialjustice93:it's not true to say that once antibodies have been activated nothing can be done. Rhogam takes care of it every time. Let her talk to her doctor and you will see that what I'm telling you is correct. |
socialjustice93:antibodies are only activated after each delivery. That's why the injection is taken after delivery to protect the next pregnancy. |
Not a big deal. Rh negative women are given an injection called Rhogam after every child birth. That ensures that subsequent pregnancies are not negatively affected. |
And why is this news? |
Their business |
Namaster:just keep talking. Even when you have no facts about something. Keep talking for talking sake. |
press9jatv:the story is correct. The Supreme Court refused to grant them stay of execution today. |
These ones still de act drama to entertain gullible political illiterates called Obidients and Atikulators. Meanwhile Fubara applied to the Supreme Court for stay of execution pending the determination of the appeal. That application for stay of execution was rejected today. This kind of stupidity by Fubara and his boys, I never see am🤣. |
It's all about the money and nothing else. Thief |
For the gullible ones criticizing the decision of the Rivers State House of Assembly to declare vacant the seats of four of its members who were earlier suspend from the house, It is my prayer that you understand the clarification below. Recall that after the Hallowed Chambers of the Rivers State House of Assembly was set ablaze on the night breaking into 30th October 2023, purportedly to stop the Assembly from holding plenary session , the Assembly still sat in the early hours of the same October 30, 2023 within the Assembly Complex and suspended four of its members suspected to have masterminded and carried out the burning of hallowed chambers , and also issued an impeachment notice on Gov Sim Fubara. Recalled also that after the peace parley that was held at the instance of President Bola Tinubu , the House immediately withdrew its impeachment notice on the Governor and also recalled the four suspended Members, yet they obstinately refused to attend sittings of the House after their suspension was lifted , without any excuse. Against the peace accord signed at the instance of President Tinubu to restore peace and stability, Gov Fubara made a U-Turn to commission the suspended lawmakers to form a parallel assembly and provided an accommodation for them inside Government House, which both the Federal High Court and the Appeal Court have in different terms declared that they Never Existed . Consequently and in line with constitutional provisions , the Rivers State House of Assembly at its 56th Legislative Sitting of the Second Session held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 declared vacant the seats of the four assembly members, namely Hon. Edison Ogerenye Ehie, Hon. Victor Oko Jombo, Hon. Adolphus Timothy Oruibienimigha and Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, representing Ahoada East II, Bonny, Opobo/Nkoro and Ahoada West Constituency respectively. The decision of the State Assembly followed the continued refusal or failure of the four to attend and participate in Legislative meetings of the House, without cogent permission for a period amounting in aggregate, to more than one-third of the total number of days the House met in the First Session of the Tenth Assembly and for also being absent in the past fifty -six legislative sittings of the Second Session. The motion for their expulsion from the Assembly was moved by the House Leader, Hon. Major Jack and co-sponsored by 25 other Members. The House voted in the affirmative that the seats of the 4 Members be declared vacant, and the Independent National Electoral Commission be notified to conduct by-elections to fill the vacancies. The House also agreed to give Gov Fubara a second chance to uphold the Rule of Law by representing the Rivers State 2024 budget . If after reading till the end and you no still understand this simplest explanation, make thunder faya you. |
Does INEC even know that this character exists?😂 |
Clock is ticking. Fubara and his small boys will learn. |
flokii:thank you. To them, Atiku should practically own the Party |
Go and suspend him na. Mumu people. |
I used them all. |
Clown 🤣 as na you be INEC
|
That one concern una. Shebi Fubara has appealed to the Supreme Court. When Supreme Court recognizes the Martins Amaewhule led House of Assembly in a few weeks and orders Fubara to go and submit the budget to them, let him disobey. That's when he will learn what is called politics. |
