That's because US made weapons are overpriced. The military industrial complex in the US charges it's government many times the amount it's weapons are worth. However, if the State Governors are allowed to continue conducting those elections, it is likely that they will continue choosing who becomes LG Chairmen and Councillors.

To ensure that there is a level playing field for all parties, I strongly suggest that President Tinubu should go a step further to get the constitution amendment to mandate INEC to conduct LGA elections.

The law says, FG should not pay states with unelected LG chairmen LG allocations, only state allocations.

This means , states like Rivers can continue to govern without FG LG allocation with caretaker chairmen because of its huge IGR.

Only states with poor IGR will suffer this impact.

Please let SIEC's be scrapped and INEC should conduct LG elections for sustainable and genuine democracy at the grassroots, devoid of control of the governors.
