Thanks everyone. Was nursing the same view that its good to wait until after dividend payout before any buying. Very likely, prices will further crash after that. We hold and watch when to dive in.

I am new here. You guys should welcome me mbok. grin grin

Wonderful contributions indeed from everyone.

Politics / Re: Electricity Consumers To Pay More As Discos Hike Tariffs by Ethnan: 12:14pm On Feb 18, 2020
We are shaped by our experiences and people must respect that. We also, irrespective of our experiences must be willing to change our position in the face of indisputable fact. Only fools doubt proof. Some people have had terrible experiences regarding solar power solution especially for heavy loads like heating iron, pumps, big freezers etc.
My recommendation as a professional is,
1. Use solar/inverter solution for your lighting, TV and fans and maybe fridge.
2. Use generator for your non-constant loads like heating, water pumping, microwave, etc. You will usually run your generator maybe for an hour or two every 2 or 3 days for these loads. So you dont need to install a big solar panel bank and batteries for these loads. They are intermittent loads.
3. Solar panels and battery would usually degrade faster with heavy current consumption. Charge and discharge are chemical reactions that result in the 'wear' of battery components. Heavy loads will facilitate this wear process.

If you have questions, you can ask, hopefully I will find the time to respond

Science/Technology / Re: Self-powered (fuelless) Generator Design by Ethnan: 7:55pm On Mar 06, 2017
The reason most of us technical persons keep wasting enormous time and resources without any result is because we hardly engage in doing the design first of all, incorporating all relevant scientific laws. In fact the real hard work is the design which could involve some very complex calculations and analysis. Once the design is done, it provides the answer as to whether the venture is practicable and viable too. A clear design will provide the direction in phases of how to implement. This reduces wastage of time and other resources. It is good to engage practical engineers who have a very sound theoretical background to help in doing a design for you before you begin your implementation. This assistance could be paid for in cash or equity in the prospective patent or company that this could birth. Whatever the reward is should be clear from the beginning.

However, we should not lock our minds to existing scientific laws only. Science I realize among other things, tries to explain happenings, but doesn't have the objective to STOP new discoveries that COULD EVEN BE SEEN TO CONTRADICT EXISTING SCIENTIFIC LAWS. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! After all we were told when we were in school in the 90s that there were only 9 planets. Today they claim they have discovered hundreds if not thousands. Before now, the atom is an indivisible part of an atom, but today the atom can actually be ripped apart, talking of nuclear reactions. When these new stuff happen, we scientists only try to explain them. PLEASE CONTINUE IN YOUR SEARCH, FUELESS ELETTRIC GENERATOR IS POSSIBLE, but just try have some synergy with guys who have very sound engineering background. It could save you a whole lot and make this come faster.

My Sun and Shield ,You are!
My Warrior and Defender,
My Rock forever!

Majestically, you walk upon the thorns and thistles of the enemy,
Could the hunter's trap catch the Wind?
Could the Ocean be salted enough with all the salt of the earth?
Could the Sea be dried up that we see its bed?

Could the mountains be moved in a day?
What is man's answer to the threat of lightning?
Or Storms and floods that leave nothing in their path?
Tornadoes and hurricanes, who can fight them?

Oh God, You are far beyond all these!
The hurricane, the thunder, storm and flood,
They hush at the sound of your voice.
You thunder, And all the beasts of the forest obey you!

My mountain is your ant hill
My fear is your none thing
Mighty,mighty is this God!

specco: Hello house, I have been using a 1000w modified sine wave inverter(ST) and a 200ah battery to power my old CRT Television set but now I want to upgrade to an LED 32'' television set. I want to know if the same MODIFIED sine wave inverter can power the LED tv without problems or must I get a pure sine wave inverter for it? Please I need advice on this before I buy the flatscreen set.

If you can afford the sine wave, I advise you to change to it. I have an uninvestigated report from one of my clients about his LED TV which kept blowing up after he replaced his LCD. The LCD never had issue all the while.

If the batteries are essentially the same,200ah/10hr will provide a much longer backup time.

akorangela: when an inVerTer shows 99% and is noT fully charged what's d cause
why do you think its not fully charged? If it's because it doesn't give you enough backup time during power outage as it used to(even though it shows 99% charged),then your battery is gradually packing up.

Up till now. The problem was choosing brand and later to get cost estimate. The end of the year syndrome is still hanging on me till Jan end.
All I know is whatsoever I want should be 1.5kva and not higher. But I need advise on battery combinations, inverter brand etc.

1.5KVA/24V Luminous inverter should do for you. Battery brands that are cool are also Luminous and Zenith. I am talking as a professional. But be sure the installation is gotten right, otherwise you wont enjoy this for long. Ensure all heavy loads are seperated from the inverter line. Not that you have to shut them down when you are on inverter. Cheers.

Sincerely checked the website, all I see are calculations to determine load and appropriate inverter. I didn't see the cost analysis of the various possible combinations I may compare with my budget.

I have made up my mind about 1.5KVA and two 200mA batteries, the specific question I have is about the brand I plan to buy and the perceived issues associated with that/those brands.

I would love to have your experience with the one you installed. Happy New Year guys!

voltront: I have read every single post in this thread and i most say i appreciate you all for sharing. I have a 1.5kva (6months old new batteries) luminous inverted that lasted over 9hrs on the first use. Since then it goes just 3-5 hrs. It shows "battery charged 99%" after just 2hrs of charging. I would like to know if that's how luminous inverters work. Anyone who is conversant with it's operation should please comment. Thanks

It looks like your batteries are having issues. You didn't say which make are the batteries. Since the inverter is charging the batteries at all,it looks the battery doesn't retain much charge. Was there anytime the batteries were left in a discharged state for about one week? leaving a battery in a discharged state for a long time could permanently damage the battery and drastically reduce its capacity. visit us at: www.hisystems.com.ng

alstacs: Hello guys, I've made up my mind on buying a cyberpower 1.5kva inverter but a friend warned me that some inverters don't charge when the current is low or high. I have a friend who has luminous and he is thinking of giving it out now. Current in his area is low and doesn't charge the inverter and when he uses his generator, the current is too high.
Anyone with practical experience with Cyberpower with respect to charging?

Yes,you are correct to use 3KVA. But why really do you want to have your deep freezer too on the inverter? How long do you usually have power supply every other day? You can cut down your inverter installation cost if you do appropriate load selection. Check our website to automatically calculate the inverter size you require and the backup time you could get. http://www.hisystems.com.ng/index.php?p=Power&s_p=Inverters#invertercalculator

Bear in mind too that a professional inverter installation is key in ensuring durability of your inverter system.Avoid cut and join technicians.

@D Don1. You have a point. I have read a lot of horrible ruthlessness regarding this invention. But today,America is in d forefront of free energy, and they are making good progress,so ,maybe soon, they will stop importing oil and exporting their clean free energy machines. What happens to Nigeria then? Who knows how soon? I ve always known that wherever there is a will, there is a way. Free energy machines will become commercial one day, what is the plan for Nigeria economy ? All these billions of allocations will become history...

@Arabic name(sorry, don't know how else to address u). Yes,its obvious we have made similar efforts.I have also dismembered a lot of hard disks to get these magnets but their shape was a problem as you said. Yet, this magnet is what you can buy anywhere in the US.

I have learnt to have an open mind in issues of science. Before now, atoms were indivisible, later that completely changed. Atomic energy can't be explained by law of energy conservation,it follows a diferent law. If these invertors closed their minds by being regimented by existing laws, there wouldn't have been the possibility of these finalised inventions.

Tell me today that if a human being spins at a certain speed,he can travel from his location to another at the speed of light,I will neither criticize nor believe you,but will rather start lookin at your theories for the possibility. Anything is possible. Shalom.

Meanwhile,I do hope that anyone who harnesses these pieces on info I have been presenting here to get this machine running will be kind enough to let me know when he succeeds. As much time that allows me,I hope to supply all the needed engineering supporting principles and theories.for anyone who wants to do some thorough work on this.we need power for any meaningful development. Science/Technology / Re: What Do You Know About Fuelless Generator? by Ethnan: 9:14pm On Aug 29, 2012
To begin,I want to state clearly that I also heard it on TV during one of Winner's chapel live telecasta;where one Collins testified of having developed a tractor that also generates electricity after working in d farm for d day. I tried tracking this guy,all to avail but I haven't given up yet. My thinking is this,if someone have already built this, why re-invent d wheel,I will just partner with him. My strong suspicion is that, the leadership of winners has kept it in the cooler and is working seriously underground to churn it out commercially.
Now,how does this machine work? Does it break d law of energy conservation? Imagine you are to hold a piece of 1kg iron just beyond d edge of a table with your hand,d iron being suspended from the table. How long would u hold it before u get tired? One day,one week,?and after which u will need to eat to hold up. Now,u can as well keep a heavy magnet at the edge of this table and it will suspend this iron as lon as we can imagine, without being tired or needing energy refilling. Where is its energy coming from? Its from its magnetic property which is almost 'indestructible'. It means there is an available free energy withi d magnet which can be harnessed with the appropriate arrangement to extract this energy for useful work. Now, energy conservation law is not broken in anyway because what actually provides d energy are d electrons specially oriented to one another within d magnet that keeps d magnet permanently magnetic. therefore, when a strong neodymium permanent magnet is appropriately arranged in a system such that there is a systematic interaction of a high DC voltage and its magnetic field, the output mechanical energy produced as rotary motion is more than 100% of the energy of d high DC voltage applied. It is over 100% because of d energy being supplied by the powerful magnet. In simple terms, if the high DC voltage was supplying 100W of power via a large no of turns of wire appropriately arranged within d magnetic field of a powerful magnet, the output rotary motion could be 250W and considering losses, this could drod to 230W. This rotary motion can then be used to turn an alternator to produce electricity. More losses would occur here and the final output could drop to say 200W,giving us a total efficiency of 200%. This AC electricity can be stepped up via a transformer to say 1000V and rectified to produce 1000DC voltage which is fed back to electric motor described before, therefore giving us a perpetual motion machine.

Now, most Nigerians have got the design wrong because of their general sloppines and non-dilligence which we see exhibited in d get-rich quick attitude. The magnet must be the highest grade of a neodymium magnet, not d type u see in sound speakers! The voltage applied is not just a 12V DC volltage, this won't produce enough interaction capable of producing or extracting the magnetic energy of d neodymium magnet. The least should be 120V DC which may give you about 120% efficient system. A 1000V DC powered system with other proper arrangements and adequate insulation produce upto an 800% efficient system. Remember, 1000V DC voltage is fatal,so great safety measure must be observed in handling this. The conventional electric motor uses the ceramic kind of permanent magnet'd type mostly seen in sound speakers. This magnet is useless when we are takimg about fuelless machines or over unity motors. I do project that it would take me at least two years if I have all financial suppport needed to get this machine commercially available in d market but honestly,I have a good job and a lucrative biz,so I am not motivated to pursue this fully at d moment though I realise this could be a money spinner for anyone who pioneers this commercially. If u ve got any questions, pls feel free to ask.Shalom.

The FUELESS generator is a reality. I am a first class electrical consultant engineer. I have followed and studied the development of this invention since 2006 but I particularly shoved this aside cos of a number of reasons including collapse of economies like Nigeria which mostly depends on oil and second, the experience of fellow professionals who lost their lives and those who were always threathened by oil cabals especially in America. But my interest resurfaced when America is now at the forefront of the quest for a clean alternative to fossil fuel. Now,nothing can stop this invention from becoming commercially available and that will be doom to so many countries and when I think just a little, I cry for Nigeria. A former petroleum minister of Saudi Arabia said that the stone age ended not because there were no more stones, the same way the oil age will end not because oil reservoirs would have dried up. I will write within the week again on how the FUELESS generator works, the valid scientific principle behind it and why Nigerians have not been able to get it right. Shalom.

which cable? Is it the one that connects the battery to the inverter? If so,a 16 to 25mm flex(battery cable))would usually be adequate for any inverter installation. Meanwhile you can learn more about inverters here: http://www.hisystems.com.ng
