Gboliwe:
Well, from the latest update and the attached lab results, will a medical personnel please break down the result in a language those of us who don't have an idea what the entrance gate of a medical school look like? Please.

The laparascopy, obinoscopy, colonoscopy, abdominoscopy and the rest of the scopys sound like what I see in the music section when a rap battle is on. Someone should demystify this.
Abeg I no fit laff o

You are not wrong at all, we are all working towards the same goal - DjDola's healing.

I will add that we give this hospital the benefit of doubt till all the tests are run and treatment progresses then maybe no significannt improvement before we go back to the original plan.

@feelme3
The fervent prayer of the people will avail for ur wife IJN.

It is my opinion that he be flown out of the country, I feel the pace of events have slowed down a little bit even the contributions!

I feel he will be given proper & accurate treatment over there because of the equipments they have

it used to be kidney, then it became liver biopsy now his "liver seems to be ok" but colonoscopy & laparoscopy has come in, I just hope new symptoms won't keep popping up & I also hope the doctor isn't using him to learn

The above is my humble opinion & I could be wrong, no offense intended
Caracta, gboliwe, marcjane please can you ask DJ and family if it is OK for me to use his picture and story on another website for the purposes of soliciting funds?
If it is OK,I guess some people on other sites should please post the story with the right account number for the fundraising
I also encourage people post on FB and twitter
Anyone that substitutes the account number with his or any other account not for this purpose,a hole will be burnt in your pocket if you deprive this young man of what was to come to him. Amen[/quote

Amen. I will also do that on my facebook page. Everybody welldone o.

naijadeyhia:
Hello people we have been deliberating outside this thread on a way forward and I think we have arrived at a decision.

1) we need to find out how much is available from the initial donations made

2) He needs to be placed on dialysis for now in a good medical facility

3) Passports need to be gotten if the OP does not have any yet (this will be found out). 1 for the OP and one for who would accompany him

4) Cost of flight and medicals in total

5) All calls to the OP must stop as only marcjane and caracta can speak to him or his family member

6) Enquiries have already started per a reputable hospital outside Nigeria to move him to

7) A fresh account set up which we can monitor. If TEHN cannot handle it then we look for another option. donated funds will go here for now until the preparations for flying out is completed then the money can be released to the family.

8 ) Finally we need to push the first donation session behind us and start afresh in ernest. This mountain is not insurmountable. in fact it looks more like a plain when we join hands to achieve this. Selflesness and love is the key. what is money compared to life? Seun as the owner of NL ur help and generosity is being appealed to at this point. STICKY THIS THREAD TO THE NUMBER 1 SPOT ON THE FRONT PAGE. If this is the only contribution you can make God will bless you real good. Our resolve cannot and will not be broken. Jehovah must take this glory and we the blessing. Long live NL, Long live the members!
Ok, then let's start the race.

Summary and update so far

I feel compelled to let the posters who have invested time and money and emotions and still investing to know the situation of things
I apologize on the behalf of those who went to see DJ if anyone feels they didn't report accordingly, this is very sensitive but at the same time you deserve to know.

The true picture is that DJ needs more specialized care than the hospital he is at can offer him
His liver is bad and sadly it has also affected his kidneys
Transplant is inevitable and now we have two failing organs
The care after transplant is not easy,it is long and extensive
Most importantly money is needed desperately to make this happen
Lots of money
I am therefore appealing to us all to give
Ask your mother father, godfather, politician friends, banker friends and business friends to give generously
To the politicians reading, please help save the life of this young man
The people reading here are the voters
Any politician that makes this happen for us,we will let everyone hear of this good gesture.

DJ needs us now more than ever
Thnx so much for this detailed info. Now we know d way forward. Let us hit the road running.

Yes, St Nicholas is another viable hospital for his diagnosis. If getting him abroad will take time, let him in a good hospital where he can be stabilised in d meantime while his visa nd other docs are bn worked out.
I really am impressed by everyone's contribution. Its bn long I see anything moved me this much.
DJ, I will continue to pray for you.

Fellow nairalanders, am highly impressed by ur show of love. The type of brotherliness you hav all exhibited here has shown that this country will rise above her challenges if we all can look beyond religious nd ethnic sentiments.

Everyone one of us, regardless of our ethnic or religion hav banded together to help a brother in need. Pls let us all continue to reflect this in all our dealings nd see d transformation of this great country.

DJ I pray that the Lord will perfect ur healing, u will not die but live to testify of HIS goodness IJN.

Nairaland GeneralWhat Was YOUR Reaction On Your First Menstrual Flow? by etomama(op): 7:03pm On Oct 02, 2014
Earlier in d week, a lecturer asked us to write about our first reaction when we discover our menstrual flow for ladies and d first ejaculation for guys.
D assignment was greeted wit mixed feelings but we had no choice but to 'retrieve' d experience frm our memory store.

Mine was not that dramatic, I was preparing dinner for d family(amala) to b precise. I was in d process of sitting down to turn d 'amala' when I noticed that I was sticky down there. I initially thougth it was d heat frm d 'amala'. I managed to finish d preparation nd rushed to d toilet because it was bcoming uncomfortable, I was shocked to see bloodstain on my pant, my first thought was I had injured myself down there but I wasn't feeling any pain.

I quickly cleaned up and ran to inform my elder sister. She is six yrs my senior, she was d one that educated m abt my body. She taught m how to roll d tissue paper nd how to maitain my hygiene during my monthly flow.

Let's share our experience nd first reaction during this important transition in our lives.
