bro na only online Dem dey claim dose things. This one will tell me whether feminism encourages infidelity or harsh treatment to one's significant other. This is how you guys create strawmen to be attacking feminists with. Like, because I am a feminist, I must be a promiscuous or dishonest partner? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Where did feminism say I should not be head over heels in love with my man? Or be caring and kind to him as he is to me? What does equality have to do with my bank account?? Sighs. We may never get out of the trenches. |
OasisX:We may be good. 😘😘😘 On a personal level, e nor pass like this. Couples deciding for works for them instead of a "must do this because you're this sex" approach. This is it 'fundamentally'. |
OasisX:No wahala. And if you can "back" the baby, change its diaper or carry it on a stroll outside (in the absence of an employed help*), I will go hundred rounds with you, infact. 😹😹😹 |
But feminism is bigger than sharing of bills sha. Even if I don't contribute shit or jack financially to my marriage, I am still an equal human and partner in my marriage. Aren't y'all yet to grasp what EQUALITY truly entails? Oh, boy. It stands alone. In and of itself. I don't need money for you to respect me and for me to be respectable, lol. Money can be a tool of ease (just like education, house, etc), sure, but it can never buy human DIGNITY (and decency). And y'all are the older guys? Aren't you supposed...? Oh, actually. It makes sense that a lot of y'all will be traditional. Some of you can just be relatively calmer than the younger ones. ![]() |
OasisX:"Allow." A ma ni problem, my dear. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |
Theflint1:It's like you just want to roll and roll and go round in circles. 😁😁 I am not saying anything difficult; AFTER vulnerable people, all man for himself. I am not the arbiter of nature's rules. In the absence of law and order, anarchy always reign. Lmaooooo. You're funny. Go and google the "Birkenhead Myth" and see that men don't always sacrifice their lives for (random) women. Do you want me to be bringing anecdotal proofs for you ni? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 If I had the clout I would ask this on Facebook or Twitter or Quora. But you really want to think there wouldn't be feminists with such experiences? Kai. Dkm, plis. (I would have mentioned NL, too, but for obvious reasons, taaaa). Scope? Aight. Believe whatever you want. |
BlueRayDick:Okay, okay, one last one before una go join come for my head for being a disturbance again. 🤣🤣🤣 I guess the Aba Women's Riot of 1929 was an act of westernization too o, abi? You can literally find thousands of evidence of our foremothers long before colonisation and Independence fighting for their rights in African societies, but you will always stretch to America loun loun in a bid to believe that we're practising something 'foreign' in 2023. |
Kholiwe:Thank you o. It is not one of the rhetorics of patriarchs that they are protectors? How is that feminists problem? If there are any seemingly positive "loophole" of the patriarchy that I can benefit from, I will take it. If I can do without the negative ones, I will dump it. The patriarchy backfiring on men is not a proof of inequality. And this also ties into the patriarchy/tradition/misogyny trio. While these three might intersect and one may not exist without the other, not every traditional practices out there is hostile to women. So I am all for traditional women who want to be treated right and subscribe to some pro-women notions. |
I hope this one knows who I am that he is sharing my post? ![]() Hope nothing? |
liveLongNprospa:And I do hope he pursues it to the end. |
pocohantas:Herod's gender nor go let me o. 😂😂😂😂 They won't. I've gone from the ends of a moniker to another mile of another. 😪 |
Theflint1:I don hear you, Mr. Conditioned Sex. If you had the chance, clean and clear, to save your life in a disaster, please, give it up for a woman. ![]() God will reward you. |
Theflint1:Good. Then stop dragging feminists for seemingly favourable decisions that they have no power to institutionalise. if there's ever a situation like this, I'm sure feminists can insist they be left behind or that whoever they deem truly weak and vulnerable take whatever slot was apportioned to them.Be left behind that what? Because I don't value my life or what? This is why good governance, civilization and education is good. Yes, I know it is almost unrealistic for EVERYBODY to be saved in a dangerous situation, but the rule of thumb in emergency situations is to save as many lives as possible, is it not? More ambulances, more lifeboats, more emergency attendants, more evacuation techniques, more food, more spaces, etc., so that everyone, MAN or WOMAN doesn't have to be lost. That's the goal of a working society. There should be no need for segregation if we had more buses and money and like the logistics to carry every single Nigerian in that country. Now in the case where that isn't possible, omo, let nature take its course in Jesus' mighty name 🙏. Also, have you ever seen a feminist in an emergency situation who did not offer up her slot for a child, a disabled person or a pregnant woman? ![]() Why imagination wan wound you? If every options above has been exhausted, and I unfortunately happen to not be saved or a man somehow got the last available rescue, because all man for himself and I'm left behind, all die na die niyen. If it was within his power to give up his slot and he wasn't altruistic enough, it's okay. He's human. And this is not me trying to downplay the impact of such a situation. And I have never been in one, so both you and I do not know what we will do for real. I'm just saying gender preferences and all these things we're saying will be the last thing on my mind. Fate/Faith (and survival) will be the only thing at play. |
Theflint1:You wan dey argue with research? 😅😅😅😅 Abi you nor see say I cite Cambridge? It is not just my uninformed opinion. Wo, ngwanu, good luck. Go and be listing the sacrifices for those academics make them dey hear. |
iamoyindamola:I am actually dragging. I will drag when I have the time, will or opportunity to see such discussions. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But you know the funniest thing? Y'all always want to have the one-way right of criticism without a befitting rebuttal. If I tok, una go say e end online. If we nor tok, una go say we don run away and we don't have any sensible response. Na ment, lmao? What if I told you that no feminist will want to be prioritised because of her sex? This topic has been overflogged on many forums from the local to the international, and the feminists' responses are always more or less the same. But anytime una ask this question, women who believe in traditions will respond and you will take that as a feminist response. Are you looking for a genuine answer or you're just looking for an answer just to taunt? Also, it may come as a surprise to you, that like many feminists, I am against the forced enlisting of men in the army (to fight wars that men started sha). I love my life and I do not have the mind nor the strength to go face a bullet- IF I CAN HELP IT. 😂😂 But instead of you people advocating for improved diplomacy and conflict resolution so that issues will not get to the stage of armed hostility (see a leader like Peter Obi), you will say it is natural for men to be brutish and domineering. Their egos will clash, they will not hear please from any side and everybody will now be suffering the aftermath, you people will now come and be dragging feminists to fight tipa tipa. No, that what, LOL? I believe all of the above, and the fact that men can be such unthinking mindless beings with no forethought of restraint and self-preservation doesn't make me unequal to him as a human and that's on periodt. 🥱 Clapback with one of your empty, jesting and watery comebacks, na for the business of your head. |
cc; liveLongNprospa So, please, abeg, quit it with the unicorn thinking that women are always some dainty princesses protected by men during war-time. PS: This is a 2006 research, but it was just the quickest one I could lay my hands on, in case you want to discard this on the basis of time-frame. I have no doubt that recent studies say the same thing.
|
liveLongNprospa:- Okay. So does this 'prioritisation' of women and children first in dangerous situations negate the oppression of women in the society? - If you actually took the time to research, you will find out that this touted phrase (the Birkenhead drill) is an exception rather than the rule. If you want me to, I will liberally furnish you with proofs. If more women do not die or are not much more vulnerable than men during wars and the likes, their survival rates would relatively be the same. It is just a vacuous phrase that has become standard practice to be uttered, with no actual translation into real action. If you will find pockets of individual men who will sacrifice their lives for their women, it will have a lot to do with the familial bond between them rather than because of their gender. You will lay down your life for your wife and daughter if it's required, because, obviously. And she will likely do the same for you too or her parents. But MAKE I DIE if you will allow a random able-bodied woman like you to be rescued before you sake of say she carry vagina. In dangerous situations, 'every man for himself' and 'survival of the fittest' are actually the principles at play. 😂😂 THIS IS FACT. If my family isn't there, walai talai, if dem don save children and weak people finish, I swear preserving my own life will be on the top of my mind!!! It has nothing to do with gender. This is life and primordial instincts. Same for everyone. Do you even know that men will harm and push and trample women aside in these situations if they are not contained? I hate it when we actually think chivalry in theory translates to real life. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It's just so cute thinking and talking about noble values, when a lot of men out there are far from being one. - And let's assume saving women and children first is standard, does that point to the superiority/inferiority of any sex? Intrinsically? Does this mean women have more value than men do? Abi what do you understand by equality? If preferential treatment is the opposite of equality, then it must mean one sex is above the other. And since women are on the receiving end of this treatment, pray tell me, WHY EVERYTHING ELSE doesn't give women this treatment? Why aren't we called the heads? Why do people not believe that women can lead well outside of the home? You have guys constantly dunking on women and degrading them and dehumanising them. One has even always constantly called me a sex object and think of me with contempt, how does this preferential treatment works into his worldview? How does this preferential treatment show in real life? My point is that, the fact that you and a few men treat your wives well and consider women with respect doesn't translate to the realities of most women. Instead, it is a belief in the inequality of men and women that actually gave rise to the subjugation of women. Misogyny is a natural progression from that belief that we're fundamentally different. And to act like saying things like "women and men aren't equal" doesn't lead to grave, devastating consequences for women is to bury your head in the sand. If you can convince yourself that someone is lesser than you, then you don't need much to start acting inhumane to them. A belief in inequality is the basis for misogyny. World over. If your belief in inequality makes you treat women well, you're just one man out of billions. |
izzou:Okay. This is sensible. |
BlueRayDick:Lmao. But you will never jump and pass addressing them. And you will never fail to use the word "woke" as a slur. |
Melvyn11:You would think this is common sense sha. |
izzou:So if a passport or other means of identification can be forged, how does knowing the state of origin REALLY clears the actual Nigerians? Like, is an SOO division the highest and infallible form of verification? |
Ibime:Wowww. This is cool. Interestingly cool. |
This house looks full and packed lol. |
pocohantas:See person wey I dey find. ![]() |
folake4u:You like good things too much. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Bit it's good. Like, no. I think jollof is from there, too. 'Cause even the name doesn't sound like anything Nigerian, but we seem to be the best in making it. I will like to try the actual Senegalese Jollof sha. Just to see. I wish you luck in your husband quest o. 😂 I was going to bring up some conversation on Twitter I was following but I've forgotten. When I remember it, I'll tag you. |
folake4u:Nonneee at all. Fine men all round. And big steppers. Some said Nigerians are colonisers and I had no choice but to accept, lmao. You know Lori is currently dating a British-Nigerian guy too? Pleeeeaseee, do. I'll be rooting for you. You two! ![]() |
folake4u:Like, soooo so nice. They ate! 😭 I would never have guessed they weren't Nigerians. Like, you can tell man was so HAPPY. See. Everyday Naija girls are this, Naija girls are that, but men of other races dey loveee to snag us and cherish us. |
Folake4u, come, come, come, come. Report! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 See their happiness:
Man knew he hit a jackpot. And I am seeing some comments that the guy (and his men perhaps) isn't Nigerian o. |
Fira09:Just see what an 'alpha male' who believes he's not a simp is doing. 🤮🤮 Is your shamelessness not embarrassing you? 😫 Just continue. 😅😅 Like many that have come and gone before you, come and try to put me in 'check' or make me realise my place under a man or clip my feminist wings, ehn? Shey na you be the Internet judge Judy? Please, TRY. We'll see who'll get fed up. 🧡💛 |
Fira09:Na you go first look for trouble, na you go fess run away under five minutes. Shey I told you yesterday that you CAN'T avoid me? See am now. I know say another day again, na you go still carry yourself and come into my mention, sniffing for crumbs of attention. But henceforth, I will always be exceedingly generous to you, as the less privileged that you are. 😘 |
Fira09:But when should I be expecting a petition, rich man? 😹😹😹 Let me suit up and start hustling for a pro-bono charge-and-bail lawyer. But you'd do well for Netflix, though, shey you know? |
...where Dem for see money pay bills
