CareerRe: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by evergreen9: 1:14pm On Jul 17, 2015
zeongeon:
if you have your BSC then you will start from General Health safety and environment course and if you like to go further then you can do the level 3 supervisory hse course. I advice you do the GHSE and LEVEL 3 HSE if you have your BSC. Then in time you can pickup your membership form of 30k fill it, they give you a project topic and a supervisor, you sit for exams and pass, defend your project and become a MEMBER of ISPON.
Thanks for your response, for those of us without BSC what level would you suggest?

Hello everyone, I am not too sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I am assuming most of you here are well experienced with ISPON considering the fact that this topic has to do with HSE. Anyway my question is this : Intend to pursue a career in the field of industrial safety and I have been told that ISPON courses would be beneficial to my career goals so I would like to know if anyone here has an idea on ISPON's education requirements for those who want to register for ISPON safety professional course.
Technology MarketHelp: Can I Find Used Laptop Battery Cases ? by evergreen9(op): 5:07pm On Jul 06, 2015
I ordered 2 HP batteries directly online as the ones I used to buy from Ikeja normally get bad after 1 charge. unfortunately I received the wrong HP battery and it wouldn't fit into my laptop (HP envy but for a different model), so now I am hoping I can find the casing for my battery so I can swap the Li-ion cells into that casing. I would like to know if it is possible to find used laptop battery casing? another option for me would be to sell the battery but I want to see if it is possible to do this first, if I cannot find laptop battery casing then I would have no other choice but to sell the batteries. I have attached pics of the battery that my laptop uses and the battery that was sent to me. You can see the difference.

Hello, I placed this complaint earlier on with CVM and no one seems to be interested in looking into this situation, so I have decided to create a thread here:

I sent an item to CVM address in Guangzhou, The item was actually a polo shirt. I was supposed to buy some more items and send to CVM's address. I didn't place an order for this item to be shipped to Lagos BUT to my greatest surprise the item was shipped to Lagos and the next thing I know I received a call saying my charge is 4,000 and that my item is also gathering demurrage charges. This is absurd and I cannot pay the said amount for a single pair of shirt that doesn't even weigh 1/4 kg not to talk of demurrage charges for an item that I clearly didn't ask to be shipped yet. This issue must be addressed.

Technology MarketAdvise On Choosing A Bulk Sms Service Provider by evergreen9(op): 7:46pm On May 06, 2015
I am interested in starting an sms marketing campaign, however the challenge ahead of me now is finding a reputable bulk sms service provider, there are hundreds of them out there right now, so its difficult to decide on which one to use, so I need some help from fellow Nairalanders - based on your PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with sms service providers, I would like to know which service you would recommend and why.

Note: I would really appreciate if we don't turn this thread into an avenue for marketing your own services. Those of you who offer reputable services can go ahead to say something about your service but other than that , I don't want anyone just posting the name of their company here just for no reason. Thanks

if your account gets hacked, your atm card is safe to an extent, in the sense that for any withdrawal to be made from your paypal account using the atm card as the payment option, the hacker would have to provide some information about the atm, informations such as part of the atm card number, expiry date, card value verification code, and the only way the hacker would have these information is if you have already given it to the hacker knowingly or unknowingly.
yeah i guess you can use your uba atm card
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate your help.
WebmastersRe: Help Using Paypal In Nigeria by evergreen9(op): 10:52am On Mar 08, 2015
henribj:
goto paypal.com
when the site opens it mostly opens the USA paypal site, just change the country zone to Nigeria and it will open the paypal page for Nigeria, sign up for a free account.
the funding process is this, you will have to link your credit/debit ATM card to your paypal account, that is the only way your paypal account can be funded. although there is another option to link your bank account to your paypal account but i do not know if that option is fully working for all banks in Nigeria.
To receive money into your paypal account, you only have to give your paypal email address to anyone who wants to send you money through paypal. paypal is like western union, when money is sent to you, you receive it in minutes, most times the money becomes available in less than 10 mins.
as for hacking, all websites can be hacked, you just have to play your part and be security conscious. most paypal accounts hacked are not hacked from paypal database, but are hacked through the owner of that particular paypal account because of his/her carelessness or lack of attention to detail
another thing to know or do if you don't want your funds transferred out of your account incase your account gets hacked is for you to make sure that whenever you receive any money into your paypal account you immediately transfer the money out into your atm card, that way, whenever anyone/hacker gets access to your paypal account, the hacker won't see any money in your account to withdraw cos the whole money is in your atm card.
hope this bit of information helped.
Thanks for your reply but if your ATM is linked to your paypal account and the account gets hacked, then the funds in your ATM account could also be used by the hackers or am I wrong? Can I use my UBA debit naira master card with Paypal?

Hi everyone , I hope this isn't a silly question its just that I don't know how the whole notarization thing works. Regarding the notarization , do I just walk into a high court (Ikeja high court for example)and ask them that I want to notarize my secondary school certificates ? Would I take the original or the photocopy, I actually plan to send my transcripts to 4 different schools (I was told multiple admission entries are allowed) so how much should I have on me ?

Anyway I would like to know if anyone here has used NIPOST / EMS to send docs and transcripts , if yes what was the service like?

Bros, check if d school accepts PTE academic. If yes, register, search for materials online, prepare, write and get your result after 5 days. PTE academic is ur best option if you have not written TOEFL or IELTS.
Yes, most of the schools accept PTE (academic), I would look into this test (the name the scare person sha , e be like say e go tough grin grin grin) . Thanks for the advise.

Hello guys , Please I would like to know when I can pick up my 2005 waec result. The last time I went to pick up my GCE result (some years back) I was made to understand that there are different days for different exam years . I wouldn't want to go all the way to the waec office in Ikeja just to ask what day I can pick up my 2005 certification. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

Happy New Month Pals
We wish you the same also . Anyway guys why This IELTS guys like to dey complicate things too much . I just contacted them (British Council) and they told me the following things:

1. The test would not take place at the same date . The first test takes place on the 10th of January and the speaking test would take place about a week after the first test

2. The test results would be released after 13 days BUT not all the test results.why all this complications ? The admission process begins on the 7th and ends on the 27th. If the first batch of results comes out after 13th days then that would be on the 23rd of January , 4 days before the end of the admission process , then how long would it be before the second batch of the result would be released?

Please I would like to know if it was the same for you guys also.

kenya is visa on arival for nigeria but you can't just board plain to kenya with just your passport, there are some procedure to follow, you have go to their embassy at abuja or email them, they will now tell you their visa requirement, which they will now forward to nairobi for process, their visa is so cheap, I remember their single entry is 20 to 50 dollar, don't give any body to do it for you, just contact their embassy they will reply and assist you, Its simple.
Thanks smiley

Hello house , this Finland stuff seems to be tougher than I thought. The Finnish embassy said they do not give visas for students who are interested in writing the entrance exams in Finland , however they said sometimes they normally hold the entrance exams in the Finnish embassy here in Nigeria (although with the approval of the educational institution), So I contacted some of the schools regarding the entrance examinations and I told them what the Finnish embassy here suggested , however they turned down this option and said the exams would only be written in Finland or in one of the Finnips locations , I checked the Finnips website and Kenya seems to be the reasonable Finnips location to write the entrance examinations. So I would like to know if anyone has written or plans to write an entrance exam in Kenya . Do the Kenyan embassy give tourist visas to Nigerians ? what are the requirements (fees etc) ? in regards to hotel bookings , what is the average cost of a Kenyan hotel and if you were to travel to Kenya to write an entrance examination like how many days hotel booking would you probably make.
I would like to plan ahead of time so that I can at least have an estimate of the entire cost of travelling, among other things. Thanks in advance

Simply write on dat 10th Jan. Send every other docs while d admission is still on. British Council will send your test electronically as long as you as them to do so on your behalf. Its on the form. Besides if you write 10th, it will be out by 23rd or 24th thus enabling u to meet up with d deadline
bumitek02:
but that is 50 50 risk oo, will they accept IELTS electronically? I think its only toafl they will only accept like that, IELTS is only by post whether its from BC. Well I think he will first ask his sch by then if the will accept it like that

Thanks guys . So how long does it take for the electronic result to be ready ?

Lagos IELTS is filled up until January 10th . I am worried that I might not meet the admission deadline for the Finnish Uni's If I write the IELTS test in January (Considering the fact that admissions in Finnish Uni's begin on the 7th and ends on the 27th of January ), Please I would like to know if there is any other state where IELTS registrations for December is still available .
