You can use KLM, Air France, Lufthansa as well. Your Polish D visa is sufficient for a stopover.

I put it to you that food is expensive in Nigeria. Just take it. If the price of food abroad is the same as the currency equivalent in Naira, then there's serious problem and you are not even realizing it.
Governments of countries that care about its citizen don't leave getting food to 'however the deem fit' but actively make food affordable for the common man such that even if you earn the minimum wage, you can eat comfortably and not starve. That's why you hardly find undernutrition even among poor people there.

The current costs of items is almost comparable with abroad prices so why the need to buy from Nigeria and that's part of what has affected chicken prices. Rather than trying to justify those prices, you deserve better from your government, whether it is Bihari or Tinubu or Obi in power. Other countries that don't have the UuS population and production scale still have food affordable or the common man

National D visa is a long term visa for study, work etc. You really should not have any problem with visa as a NAWA scholar. For appointments, you can send a mail to the embassy.

To be on a safe side, you can book a return on the day of your departure and cancel once you get to Poland. That way, you'll get a full refund if cancellation is done within 24hrs of booking.

I'm not sure about student visa but I know someone with a Schengen visa who was turned back by Qatar airways because they had a one way ticket instead of a round trip ticket.

You can get it in government hospitals but ensure you know what tests your school require. Some schools may ask to show the tests that were carried out for you to be declared fit while others may give you a certificate template for the doctor to fill and sign
