However, in as much as I need to have a study group, I’d also like you to share me any soft copy textbook you’ve or you can recommend a bookshop I could get one. Pinkandblue26: Hello everyone
I intend writing my GRE 1st week of November. I reside in Ibadan, Akobo Ojurin precisely. I am looking for someone to hook up with who also intends writing soon so we could be having group discussion and study together. I'm a lady. I'm going for MS in Food Science.
Thank you. I stay in Ibadan too, close to UI though. |

folabiola: You download the form, fill it offline, attach copy of your transcript, BSc certificate, admission letter into Msc, o'level result, recent MSc Identity card and duly signed application form by your HOD. This is applicable to masters scholarship, I don't know about other levels.
So the scholarship board will collate names of applicants from same school and level(Postgraduate, undergraduate etc) together regardless of your course of student and send to the admissions officer to confirm each applicant studentship. Please, could you assist in fillingthe form. I'm confused on some questions. |

oke48: Good point and God bless you for pointing out facts. That was why I stated that if he had a strong GP and also finds biochemistry interesting, he could travel abroad to further his studies. Furthering his studies abroad can be in 2 ways
1) He can finance himself (maybe personal/parent/relative support) 2) On scholarship
He could particularly research in an area that bridge both biochemistry and medicine. After high school, I wanted to study medicine but of course, with Nigeria universities admission system, I ended up studying mathematics. Even though I still had the passion for medicine, I made sure I took mathematics serious because that was what life was giving me at that moment. Instead of going back to study medicine, I resolved to pursue a career that bridge both mathematics and medicine. Now, I am currently doing my PhD studies in Biomathematics in Europe. I can categorically say that I feel fulfilled because I am still exploring medicine with mathematical tools. My point here is that our destiny lies in our hands and whatever we feel may work for us, we should do. If it goes well, fine, we gain from it. If on the hand, it goes bad (I don't pray for this), it's a lesson; we learn from it. Perfectly worded. |

oke48: I guess you would have to put a condition on this statement PhD holder employed in a federal university as lecturer 2 earns a meager 140k .
Even as a PhD student here in Europe, I earn more than what a professor earns in Nigeria. Please always condition your statement, his horizons may be more than what you're assuming. Not everyone would settle for less.
We know money is important but a succesful career is more important for now. If in a way, he finds biochemistry interesting and has a good GP, I could suggest he goes abroad for his MSc and PhD. He won't regret it. I have seen students in his field do extensive research in medical labs. Medicine is far more than just prescribing drugs or carrying out operations for sick patients. Thank you for this. Your comment inspired mine. To the OP, identify your passion. Why do you want to study medicine? Growing up, I wanted to be a medical doctor too based on the little information at my disposal but really, I wanted more than sitting in an office, prescribing drugs and going on calls. I actually wanted research, medical research! My passion for research has been my motivation. So know what you really want to do. What are your career goals. Mind you, Google is your friend |

To the OP and all who have contributed to this thread, thanks and GOD bless you.
My question is does Ireland schools have a fast-track program i.e. direct PhD from BSc?
Who else is applying for PhD here? Any current PhD student can as well share their experience and useful tips. Thanks |

fergie001: Most of the fears here are network related. Just persist, your futures may depend on this. In UI once u submit any wrong thing,to unsubmit it its 6k above, precisely they tried to help, and do not forget I said this on the 1st page, that even if you are done,do not submit or lock up,perhaps until the last day. In times of rush like this, there will be pressures on the mails, try using mails that are amenable.......sth out of the box. Like I said,do it mostly at nyt,and try as much as possible,to print out your transcript label,u will need it for ur transcript when the time comes, though it could be done later. I am just about to purchase the form. My question is must it be submitted on or before the 25th? if yes, do I have to wait for the referees? Thanks |

gabi101: hello, welcome to the fam! i really don't know where to help from but i would try. there are three means to get access this country(germany):Blocked account of about 8760 euros(not sure), Sponsorship letter which shows you have someone in Germany whose working and earns atleast 1500euros that can fund your education and lastly scholarship fund. for starting the processing you need to first find the course/courses related to your field(i can help you with this) ,then apply. For masters studies, most schools need your documents sent to them by post while few applications are done online. when you apply you will see the documents each individual school require from you.You need a test of English language certificate or proof of English proficiency as part of application documents...i cut my coat here.you should prepare to apply for summer(oct-dec) or winter(mar-july) application 2018, with dates depending of the schools you intend applying to.If you need help in finding any course you wish to apply to just let me know anytime.
#ENJOY Thanks for this. I have found schools that offer my course of choice but the problem now is getting funds. I seriously hope to get scholarship or just settle for schools here that has similar course of study |

[quote author=Melonny post=57406170]As you have said, let's appreciate our gender. I would like to point out what really GENDER EQUALITY is, Gender equality is achieved when women and men enjoy the same rights and opportunities across all sectors of society, including economic participation and decision-making, and when the different behaviours, aspirations and needs of women and men are equally valued and favoured (genderequality.ie) So, it doesn't mean men and women become the same, we should have access to same opportunities. [thanks so much for this more especially because it is coming from a male. It is obvious the op has little knowledge of gender equality. And it is only common sense, male or female to be responsible for your actions whether the aftermath is physical or not] |
