Read this thread like every other thread till I saw 9yrs and I was like keep doing what kept a guy in a relationship for that long without even marriage and no side condiments.

I don't know what to tell you besides the truth. I mean, do you want to hear, I was a great cook and lover to him? Or that I was a great friend or was sincere or yadi yadi yadi?

See, all the physical things, there will always be others who can do same. When he was asked by his friends what made him stick all these years, we, especially the girls were expecting to hear, she is this, she is that.

The list is endless, for the fact that a man loves God, quote bible verses, say the right thing and speak in tongues does not make him a good husband. People use church and bible as a cover-up, yes they fear God in church and around you but what they get up to in private is another story.

Your last paragraph is a paraphrase of the scripture, where Jesus said, with their mouth, they say they love me but their hearts are far from me. Another scripture says, "having a form of godliness but denying the power that lies in it".

So you are right in your thinking. Not all who says they love God, trust Him enough to give Him their heart. And where your heart is, your treasure is.
