What identity problem?

Being confused about whether they are igbo, bini, or ijaw.

Please, let's not create an issue here. 'Delta' igbos, whatever that means, don't have an identity problem. They are igbo and proudly so. They seem to be my favourite of the igbo subgroups. I'll give you an example. I once had an Anioma (delta igbo)woman as a neighbour. One day she joking told me: 'buy something come for ur sister, u no say na d same road we dey pass.' I reply that i'm igbo, but she's anioma. She was completely p!ssed off. Since then i had a couple of them as friends and i realized they don't have identity issues like some of the others.

@ OP  Life is a cycle. Good and sad moments are not permanent. This basically what the real life looks like in contrast to fairy tales. So just hang on. This sad moments of yours is SURE to pass by. But i feel the root cause, i stand to be corrected, is your relationship with your spouse. Maybe you need to get that aspect working, since it seems to be affecting other areas of your life. Try things that might help like sleeping well(minimum 8 hours), eating healthy, exercise, learning something new. Just my personal suggestions. Suicide news sucks.

@eziachi can u for once desist from using tht word 'biafra'. biafra is a dead man's delusion. biafra is dead and buried. let it R.I.P. u r only blacklisting igbo & making others igbophobic by continued use of tht word. brother, what we need is not biafra, but mass education of our people, industrialization&systematic transfer of our assets back to our homeland. so point of correction an igbo son won a british election

theres nuttin to be scared of. Igbos r a highly accommodating ppl with love for strangers due to their migratory nature. Also quite monoamorous. A few things to note when u meet his family: 1.Dont be pompous or trying to show ur class 2.Show ur interest in their culture, like learning to greet in igbo, they will love u for this. 3. Dont encourage ur boyfriend to distance himself from his family or friend, they may think u r d cause. If they see that u r a good influence on him, they will see u as one of their own with time.

common sense demands when u dont know an answer to a question, u simply shut up. Instead of saying nonsense. I'm igbo, i feel its no a igbo word, or its perculiar to his own dialect of igbo. Ur best bet find out from him tactfully

even though i'm not in lagos, i think that yorubas do better in keeping there culture than the igbos.



thats because the igbos refuse to live in their homeland. living too much in the diaspora will cause you to lose your culture. It happened to european jewry, until hitler crushed them. I hope the Igbos will learn from history

Sometimes this 'girl and money issue' is a pain in the neck. At times, you dont even flaunt your wealth and you still get asked for money by girls. Due to the bad programming many girls recieve from childhood, for example their fathers giving monies to the mother, its become a natural cycle for some girls when they meet a guy.

Another issue why they are always asking is you. Not that you flaunt as you claim you dont, but i think your problem is showing too much interest at an early stage. So those girls percieve you as desperate and their prices go high. Remember Economics 101, the higher the demand for her attention, the higher the price for her attention. When you meet a girl you like, just chill out.

But no matter how cautious you are, you still come across girls that will always ask even before you finished talking. What i do is this. Over the years i have realized that some times its a woman's way of testing you, while sometimes it's really to 'chop you'. So what i do in order not to offend the right girl is to give them when they ask, but i make sure it's 'peanuts'. A good girl will appreciate the act of giving,not the amount involved. Thats my personal technique. Hope it helps your unfortunate destiny and any other guy's
