geektrovert: Babe, Please drop the idea that getting a job in this country is based on connection. Drop it totally. If you are good, with God's support, you'd get a job. Immediately after NYSC, I got my first job through Nairaland, (XX,Bleep per month), after a couple of months, I got tired, picked up my CV and returned to nairaland..after about two months, I got another job in Abuja, few thousands less than six figures per month..Thank God.
Bros, Abeg, no vex, "do u mind if I join this group with 7 figures with zero connection?". Never a dull moment with me.... #justkiddingtho. Earlier this year, I got tired again, Picked up my CV and returned to nairaland, I started applying for jobs in January, around February ending, on this thread, I applied for one job posted by Debby in Ogun (a multinational FMCG), I did interview in February..and resumed March..this is my current job..and we are talking 7 figures per annum net salary with Housing, lunch, fuel, transport and other perks.
In February too, my friend applied for a job on myjobmag somewhere in Lagos...did interview and resumed in March, 3Mil+ net per annum with housing, lunch, medical etc.
Another friend of mine applied for a job sometimes in April, did a series of interview and got the job last month..A managerial position straight outta NYSC, this is 7 figure net annual, with car, housing, lunch and breakfast, etc..
All of us, I repeat, all of us, have Zero connection. We just have hope, and we pray to God, and we keep attending interviews, and we never give up.
It's a matter of time, this frustration shall pass by His grace..you can PM me so I'll join your whatsapp group. |

Hi everyone, There is a job opportunity for one person who will like to earn extra income from what they currently earn. I need just onededicated writer to work for and with me for a period of 2 months. This is going to be a contract employment, with a very likely possibility of becoming permanent. You would submit 5 blog posts/day(with pictures), these posts should not be more than 2 hours after they hit the internet. Of course, you could get stories from anywhere but you mustcraft it to be plagiarism free. This job is flexible such that if you can submit all 5 posts, say, in the morning/ afternoon, you are free for the day; but all posts should be handed in before 6pm of a particular day. All posts should border on Entertainment, music, celebrity, fashion, events, features, Lifestyle, travel, AND must be centered around Africa and Africans ; [/s]nothing Caucasian[s]. You would be required to work Mon- Fridays on posts of your choice but they must be addressed accordingly. This isn't article writing, where you have to rack your brain and gather points, its just playing around with words, well... that is if you know how to. I do love this job, and can do it myself, but work is demanding and limits my ability to do as much as i can. So if your posts aren't up to standard, I wont accept it. If you are the one i am looking for, send a sample of any blog post to my mail with subject, blog post. Nobody should quote me or send me their mail address, you would be disqualified once you do. This opening expires at exactly 6pm today, of which i will take off my mail address. No CVs please, as I am only interested in what you can do. You would be paid on the last week of every month. We'ld discuss in details if contacted. |

debbie: Sorry dear for responding late.To be sincere with you,no job is secure..but i think considering what experience you want to get from the new job.Take it and learn from it...knowing that you wont stay there forever.Give yourself sometime and move ahead.Remember most recruiters are scared of people who easily jump from one job to another ...judging from their cv.But that doesnt mean you cant pick a better job when you get one. Please grow your career now...the pay and all the luxury you wish to get from a job will come later. But finally the choice is yours. I pray you apply wisdom in your decision Amen. i pray so too. Thanx ma'am. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Suggestions, Please, Anyone?! by exotiqueify(op): 4:56pm On May 09, 2017 |
GEJPosterity: I think it's very obvious what you should do. You've said that one of the jobs offers more of an opportunity to grow, is a more structured environment, and is closer to where you live. The fact that it is a renewable fixed-term contract doesn't make it any less secure than the present one, because in reality, no job is secure. The management at your current place will dump you without thinking twice if it works to their advantage. Your only loyalty in the corporate world should be to your own interests. There is no paddy in the jungle, and Nigeria is a jungle.
Having said that, keep your eyes wide open wherever you are going, and if possible try not to leave where you are on a bad note. As you said, the ultimate aim is to grow your career. You don't grow your career through loyalty - that's one of the biggest lies told to us when we were growing up. You grow your career by making the most of opportunities as they arise.
It's your decision at the end of the day. Harsh truth....Knew i could always count on you. But truth is, i just started at the current place, not long... I am so confused. Can we chat please? With the number you gave me before? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Suggestions, Please, Anyone?! by exotiqueify(op): 4:30pm On May 09, 2017 |
I'm currently sitting on a job offer (already signed), to begin ASAP, but working currently somewhere else. The new offer is from a more structured environment, but its a renewable contract, and very possible staffing at the end of the year(based on performance of course). Current job is not quite structured, still in the development stage, but might launch soon. The only perk i'm seeing in the new job is proximity and shift-based. Current job? well? no perks yet. I am not quite concerned about the pay now, just want to grow my career, which the new job is most likely to offer. What do you advise? Matured responses please.

pcoolioz: I have a project and I would need article rewriters for the next 10days and for possible projects on the long run.
If you are interested and you have time on your hands feel free to send me a PM.
I am not looking for anything complex. But if you feel you can;
- meet daily deadlines without flopping - rewrite articles in your own words without errors and plagiarism.
- And you are okay with my rate of 1n per word which basically translates to 1000 for a 1000words rewrite.
Then please do Pm me or drop your info and I will get back to you. When next u have an opening, do let me know or just do a quote. Regards |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Help Me Choose Between These Two Job Offers by exotiqueify(f): 5:27pm On Apr 01, 2017 |
napoleon77: The honest truth is that both jobs should be seen as short term jobs. I do not see you spending a long time in either job due to the salaries on offer.
You would obviously be looking for other opportunities irrespective of which of the 2 you chose.
I would advise you take the job in the Indian company just for the work experience so long as you have a plan to move on within the next few months. The money and working conditions could be terrible but the work experience would be invaluable.
At this stage of your career, work experience is more important. Some people even work for free just to gain relevant work experience.
If you take the job in the school you may enjoy the working conditions but the work experience may not be that valuable.
Irrespective of which offer you take, just don't plan to remain there in the long term. Love your grammar, semantics and above all reasoning ability...Kudos |
