The problem is really not cost, it's more about proximity.
A man works in Lekki, Ikoyi or VI as a driver, Gardner, security man or the likes.
He may be able to afford a N400k self contain around Lakuwe, Bogije or Eleko axis, but that 400k can't get him anything meaningful.
Coming from the Lakuwe axis everyday is a No No so he opts for something around to lay his head, many of those people have houses at Ikorodu, where they spend the weekend...

So the problem really is not that they can't afford houses, but what is available for their class is too far from their place of work.

So you see the low cost houses would not work.
How much will it cost to build them? Ofcourse government won't rent them out, they would be sold, but to who, can the man on N150k salary buy?.
