BusinessRe: Have You Ever Been Duped On Olx Before? by expert101(m): 11:44am On Dec 10, 2013
The Guy that started this thread is a Big liar! don't render such services. No delivery of any goods.

By the way the country Manager of Olx was interviewed yesterday on Ebony Live Tv in Moments with Mo- He said their platform is a marketplace to
help Nigerians sell their stuff online. He warned Nigerians to be careful of fraudsters! By the way if you have to buy anything, before you pay-you must see the item physically otherwise if you are duped I honestly doubt if are a Nigerian.

Another issues is that many Nigerians that have never bought anything online come here to backlash online services like Jumia, konga web businesses etc. You guys should stop such, one day you will have biz and fill bad if your reputation is sabotaged by people who are not your customers.

Be warned!
BusinessRe: Nigeria Need More Startups In 2014 by expert101(op):
Never take no for an answer. Starting a startup isn’t easy and there will always be people who tell you that something is impossible. Planning and modeling out your business is always a good idea, but don’t get stuck planning too long, build something and push it out to your users as fast as you possibly can. If your product is getting good reviews and people are willing to pay for it, you’ve got something.” Nigeria have a population of 160 million. Having 1 million people buy your product annually isn't a greedy idea neither is it impossible.

At the end of the day- It's you that will be smiling to the Bank if you have the guts to the step.

Cheers.

Do you want to start a startup? The answer should be YES! The key is to focus on solving a problem with your startup which is designed for fast GROWTH. Think long term, Think Big and don't forget to build a strong team you can trust. Nigeria have a lot of problems that can be solved or at least a better way to engage our citizens online. The likes of Nairaland, cheki, IrokoTv, Tolet.com.ng, spinlet,Vconnect, kuluya.com, jumia, konga, jobberman, voguepay.com, bus.com.ng, oya.com.ng, hotels.com.ng carmudi, jovago etal are doing well and picking up. You must pick a niche develop a concept that truly offer some kind of VALUE to your audience then find ways to monetize your site because you have to pay bills.

If you want to start one it's important to understand that. Startups are so hard that you can't be pointed off to the side and hope to succeed. You have to know that growth is what you're after. The good news is, if you get growth, everything else tends to fall into place. Which means you can use growth like a compass to make almost every decision you face.

Nigeria tech savvy experts should focus on delivering more value and learning how to market your startup will go a long way to ensure you survive. Don't be intimidated about big advertising budget. Just start with what you can afford and look for ways to get finance to push it if you believe in your business 100%. A bad product well marketed and positioned can fetch you a fortune but a good product know one knows about will die off shamelessly. So as you brand your you startup you must know how to make noise so your target audience know you exist.

HERE ARE 10 THINGS STARTUP FOUNDERS MUST DO TO ENSURE THEIR PROJECT IS SUCCESSFUL

1. Make the commitment.

Entrepreneurship can be learned. But you have to be committed to the process of building your own thing and the act of creating something, rather than just coming up with an idea. It will likely take several ideas, with the learning process of failing on a couple, before you can call yourself a successful entrepreneur.

2. Find a problem, then solve it.

Rather than finding a new idea first, try finding a problem first. Problem solvers make successful entrepreneurs. Idea people are dreamers, who often don’t enjoy the hard work of a solution in a specific timeframe to make money.

3. Think big. Think new. Think again.

In other words, make sure your solution will scale up. Professional investors will tell you they look for business plans that can credibly project revenues of at least $20M within five years, or they won’t justify an investment.

4. You can’t do it alone.

Have a support team of people you know and trust. An idea person and a problem solver make a great team. Successful entrepreneurs have to work well with people, whether they are partners, investors, employees, suppliers or customers.

5. You must do it alone.

But the dichotomy is that there are things that you have to do alone. “The buck stops here.” You have to be decisive, accept responsibility and provide the vision. Vision is not a group-think activity. Sometimes decisions have to be made quickly and with very little hard data, so you need to have the confidence in your gut.

6. Manage risk.

Without risk, there can be no innovation. Not every idea can, or will, be a winner. Fear of failure will kill innovation, but reckless disregard for risk will kill a business. The successful entrepreneur is able to find the balance between these two extremes.

7. Learn to lead.

In a startup, the entrepreneur leader has to do 2 things: first, drive the business creation process, and secondly, inspire all the others. The others include the rest of the team, investors and customers. That means hands-on leadership and effective communication.

8. Learn to sell.

Don’t believe the old myth that “if we build it, they will come.” Selling is a learned skill and takes effort, just like building a product. Everyone in your startup, especially the entrepreneur, needs to understand sales and needs to be a salesperson.

9. Persist, persevere, prevail.

Experts say the prime cause of failure in business is quitting too soon. The successful entrepreneur never gives up and uses creativity to overcome all obstacles, including personal, financial and technical ones.

10. Time, not money, is the key resource.

Entrepreneurship is a lifestyle, not a job. Be prepared to play the game for life. There are no quick fixes or quick, get-rich solutions. Learn to manage and balance your time; it’s the one thing that belongs to you alone. Great entrepreneurs have a life outside of work and find time to give back.

Until then I hope we have learn't enough from these article. I look forward to seeing more successful startups in Nigeria come 2014.

To your success.

This is good way to make money and just one of them. As an affiliate you have to sell other people's products to earn commissions.

What about starting your website set up an autoresponder, build a list...then SELL!

On a second - you can create a site that solves problems and issues people a having. Advertise it then Monetize and smile to the bank.

Have a nice day.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but what about a beer a day? Or for that matter, a glass of wine or even a shot of hard liquor?

It's well-established that drinking too much, even every once in a while, is bad for you, but there's often uncertainty regarding how moderate drinking affects health. There are some negatives, and some positives, so decisions about whether to drink really depend on people's individual situations.

FoodRe: Mama Put And Fast Food Which Is Better by expert101(m): 12:12pm On Nov 13, 2013
The two biggest reasons why fast food is unhealthy are fat and salt. Most types of fast foods have too much of both of these things.

Fat is bad for you for at least two reasons. First, fat is high in calories. Eating a lot of calories tends to make you overweight. This leads to issues like diabetes and heart diseases. Second, fat tends to cause things like high cholesterol counts that also contribute to heart disease.

Salt is bad for you because excessive salt leads to high blood pressure. This, too, can cause heart disease as well as other health problems.

Make homemade meals or get a wife or girlfriend that can cook well. The rewards are yours( Healthy Life) grin

Start by outlining all the areas of your life where you want to achieve success and happiness. This would certainly include your career, but also your social life, relationships, children and places you would want to live. It’s never too early to start a bucket list, and it should be directly linked to your brand and ultimately, your plan.

Remember that your personal brand definition should be aspirational: an indication of what you want out of life, not necessarily where you are right now.

Of course this is just a start. We need to turn this into a positioning for your brand so that it serves as a guide for how you build your brand.

Hi Friend,

Finding a new job quickly is often necessary because of financial pressures. It's possible to get a new job fast and with a few simple steps you can be back to work before you know it.
1. Start your job search by making a list of your 10 most important job skills. The list will help you narrow your job search.
2. Call friends who might know of any job openings. A friend's recommendation is one of the best ways to get a job quickly.
3. Carry your resume with you wherever you go. Opportunity can knock more than once but you have to be prepared to answer immediately.
4. Post your employment information on web-based employment sites like www., also visit www.dreamjobsolution.com for best strategies on how to get a job in Nigeria-
5. Although some of these may take time to respond, you are sewing the seeds for future employment possibilities which will work out with determination
6. Prepare yourself mentally to accept a position with lower pay or that gets your foot in the door.
7. Respond to every possible job opening in the classifieds and posted on bulletin boards. Check out seasonal job offers posted in public areas such as libraries, church and street corners. Temporary employment is better than no employment at all.

Increase Your Career Confidence:

In the world of employee and employer relations, loyalty is becoming a thing of the past. Key players in organizations are leaving, or the organization is leaving them (the dreaded F word – fired). In truth, if you are looking for someone to make a mistake, they will. Whether the employer or the employee is the cause, the relationship is broken and both parties are left to pick up the pieces.

The employer will find someone to fill the position, the employee will find another job, and the cycle continues. The emotional void is hardest til fill. The employer has others to worry about, the employees co-workers are likely left wondering what went wrong, or they are concerned that they may be next or that they should also start looking. They may also question the solvency of the organization. For the employee, the relationship with the next employer is automatically strained because of the baggage brought to the table. These statements are both true, regardless of who made the decision to break the relationship.

A business relationship is similar in many ways to a dating relationship. There may be comments about the ex, concerns about future compatibility, and the urge to compare the new to the old and the old to the new. The key to overcoming these obstacles is confidence. Confidence is defined as the state of feeling certain about the truth of something. The confidence factor is important for all parties (previous employer, previous employee, current employer, current employee).

The previous employer needs to feel certain that they made the right decision for the right reasons. They cannot go back and change what happened, so second guessing themselves is a waste of time and energy. Similarly, the previous employee needs to feel certain that the decision was made with the best intention of the organization and they need to feel certain their skills and abilities will land them in a better position. The current employer needs to feel certain that their new employee is a good fit for their organization and they have to recognize that no two businesses are the same. They cannot blame the new employee for things that went wrong with their previous post. If they have any doubts, they should be left behind once the hiring decision has been made. There is the current employee who also needs to be confident. They cannot feel that they are a replacement for the previous person. They are not a stand in or a second runner up. They are simply, the best person for the position – no holes barred. The current employee needs to feel certain that they have the right skills and abilities to achieve the organizations expectations. They cannot question the decisions that were made in the past.

AdvertsHOT Tips To Increase Website Traffic:(nigeria) by expert101(op): 1:08pm On Dec 10, 2012
Ways to Generate Traffic for Websites

Tip #1

Getting those keywords in place is what is really crucial for a website to pull in as much traffic as it can. To that purpose you need to optimize your site through search engine optimization. It means you search about what is being researched on the Internet. Based on that search, have content on your website. That really helps in adding traffic to the website. This is perhaps the most basic thing to do to increase the traffic, and will lead to website promotion.

Tip #2

One really effective tip to increase traffic on your website, is to put RSS feeds on your website. RSS feeds help people interact with the website. What it does is it provides summaries of web content in a simple format, available through an RSS feed reader, mainly or may be with the help of some browsers. It will tell the visitors about what is new on the website without them having to actually visit the website.

Tip #3

What are social networking sites for? To make contacts, share things, advertize, and publicize! So make use of them to share your website through either Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon or the likes to increase web traffic on your site. Social networking sites give you a great opportunity to reach out to a large number of people. You would obviously need to target the popular topics and also follow and get in touch with those who are dealing with the same topics.

Tip #4

Getting your website listed in all the major web directories is another way to increase traffic flow to your website. Tips related to this one include that you submit your website to all the major web directories. Traffic is generated to a particular website straight from the directories. This enhances the traffic and popularity of the website. This is one of the best ways when it comes to generating web traffic.

Tip #5

Think about how long would the visitors settle on your website, rather than how many. That indirectly means working on areas which will make people do that. It could be interesting videos, articles, interactive games and so on.

Tip #6

As mentioned earlier, creating links with other sites and people with related websites or complimentary websites, can prove to be really effective. Okay, the results might not be Schumacher style fast, but slowly and steadily it can work when the traffic on the websites linked on yours, increases. Hopefully, they would also return the favor by linking your site. Consider this one amongst different, yet sometimes effective, website promotion ideas.

Tip #7

An online contest is another way to increase traffic flow. Tips in this regard involve essay contest, short essays, quizzes and stuff. The winners get a simple gift card, and these can be announced and declared on the social networking sites, to obtain maximum web traffic. Once it is on a social networking site, then there is no stopping the traffic to your website.

A few other tips include, getting connected with all those websites, links, blogs, discussion boards and chat rooms which are related to your topic and niche. Also check out the top visited websites. You can also write an article on an Internet article directory and give a link of your website after the article.

See? It is not very difficult to increase the traffic flow to your website, is it? Tips which have been mentioned earlier can be followed with discretion and patience! You can come up with your own ideas by thinking of what you as a ‘netizen’ want in a website! Here is where I log out and leave you to implement these tips!

Jobs/VacanciesWhat To Do Before You Start Searching For Job by expert101(op): 6:00pm On Nov 22, 2011
Are you currently unemployed or you are opting out from your present job? If you are, there is a good chance that you may be looking for a new job. Even if you are not unemployed, you may still be interested in finding a new job, like one that gives you more pleasure or one that pays better. Before then, I will like to tell you that you must set personal goals that are realistic. This will help you a lot before you commit yourself to anything.
Apparently, when it comes to finding a new job, you will end up embarking on a journey that is often referred to as job hunting. Although your first thought may to be start finding job listings right away, you are advised against doing so. There are actually a number of things that you will first want to do. Before you start job hunting, make your plans public. This will help you to get different perspectives from different minds and then provide you with a deeper thinking on how to come out with fast answers to your questions. It is advised that you create a plan for yourself. For instance, do you know what type of job you would like to have if opportunity knocks when you are unprepared? If you are unemployed and need a job to pay your bills or support your family, the type of job you want to have may not play as big of a role as it would if you were searching for a job better than the one that you currently have. Even if you are considered desperate, when it comes to finding a job, it is still advised that you take the time to consider what type of job you would like to have. When making your determination, it is important that you be realistic. For instance, if you only have a high school diploma, a job as a surgeon or engineering won’t be as easy as you will think, at least not without first furthering your education.

It is also advised that you develop a plan for yourself, when it actually comes time to find a job. For instance, when searching for a job, you will want to be on the lookout for job listings. Job listings are often described as small write-ups, like a paragraph or two, that outline a position that applications are currently being accepted for. When it comes to finding job listings, you will see that you have a number of different options. For instance, job listings can be found online or in the employment section of most newspapers. Others learn about jobs through career counseling centers, word of mouth, and so forth. Developing a plan for yourself, one that outlines exactly how you can go about finding available job positions, is the best way to ensure that your job hunting time is wisely spent.

If you choose to use the internet in your search, you may be able to come across job listings that are for local opportunities, as well as long distance ones. Before you start searching for jobs, it is advised that you decide whether or not you would be willing to relocate to work in a particular state. When it comes to relocating, there are some instances, where you may only be required to relocate a few states away and others where you may be required to relocate all the way across the country. Since relocation can actually play an important role in finding a job, it is important that you examine your ability to relocate.
Finding a new job is a process that sometimes takes time, persistence and patience but it is one that shouldn’t cause you too much worry or stressed, believing that your mates have gone far in terms of achievement. You will get one if that truly will suit well if you remain focused. By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, your job hunting journey will likely go off without a hitch. Success!
CareerShould You Hire A Professional Resume Writer? by expert101(op): 5:56pm On Nov 22, 2011
A professional resume is one that will give you more chances of getting the job of your dreams. Have the thought of getting a professional help for your resume ever crossed your mind? If so, then you might consider getting a help if you can’t deliver something professional.

When it comes to submitting a professional resume, there are many job seekers who wonder if they should hire the services of a professional resume writer. As you likely already know a professional resume writer is often a freelancer writer, but one who specializes in writing professional resumes. Many professional resume writers have years of experience with creating professional resumes. Apparently, the decision as to whether or not you want to hire the services of a professional resume writer is yours to make, but there are a number of benefits to doing so.
As it was previously mentioned, many professional resume writers have training and experience. Not all, but many freelance writers have a degree or at least some schooling that is either related to journalism or English. You may also find some professional resume writers who have some freelance writing experience, but who have also worked as hiring managers or company representatives. Perhaps, these types of professionals are the best ones to do business with, as they can not only write professional resumes, but they also often know what hiring employers look for in a resume.

Another one of the many benefits to hiring a professional resume writer is the work that you will have to do. Of course, you will need to be in communication with your hired resume writer, as they need to gather information on your work history, experience and education, but that is about it. After the needed information has been obtained, you pretty much just need to review your resume and submit payment for it. If you are inexperienced with writing or resumes in general, it could literally take you days or even weeks to get your resume exactly the way that you want it. In fact, there are many who never get their resumes exactly, how they want them, so many just end up settling with what they have.

However, the only downside to hiring the services of a professional resume writer is the cost of one. it is important to remember that there are an unlimited number of professional resume writers to choose from, especially if you use the internet to examine all of your options. This means that you should be able to find a number of professional resume writers in your area, many of which who have affordable rates. Of course, it is important that you don’t go too cheap, as you want to make sure that you get professional results. Spending a few naira notes on professional resume writer really isnt that bad of a deal, especially when a professional resume writer may be able to get you a higher paying job. CareerHow To Successfully Brand Yourself In Nigeria by expert101(op):
Have you thought about what makes almost everyone choose peak milk over any other milk in the Nigeria market or why children prefer Coca-cola over Pepsi at a birthday party? The answer is simple – Branding. These products might not necessarily be the best, but with the way they are branded and advertised, they have succeeded in winning over the many hearts of its customers. More so, they have stayed long enough in the market and have been able to understand its targeted customers so well. This makes them to keep bringing up new products or rebranding their products in such a way that it appeals most delectably to the masses as well as remain competitive with other brands.
But then, branding is not only just for products anymore. It also involves humans, which we know as SELF BRANDING. If you may ask, what is branding? Branding is a promise of value & quality. It is all about building reputation for great service, honesty and trust.

In the career aspect, a lot of people keep asking “why are others more successful than they are?” okay lets take an example of Bill Gates, we all know his story, he took the leap of faith and proceeded to act on his ideas and knowledge. Today he is an entrepreneur and his company is successful, he has made a name for himself. So much that whenever, you hear of Microsoft what comes to your mind is Bill Gates. Branding played a critical role in achieving such an enviable status. So many people must have called him a crazy man at the initial stage when he opted to quit school and pursue his ambition; but the point is that he has built a successful career, created more jobs in his country, revolutionalized the IT industry, helped millions of people around the world through his foundation and has made lots of money too. I have no doubt in my mind that he is a fulfilled man.

So back to the topic again, “How can one successfully brand his/her career successfully? Branding is all about building a reputation for yourself, showing what sets you apart from the rest of the crowd. You can successfully brand yourself by choosing to live intentionally. That way you can consciously take charge and responsibility of your actions and do things for a reason. Don’t just wake up in the morning to do what every other person does. That is a mediocre way of life, rather take your decisions because it is the right thing to do and you will be proud any time to defend your actions if the need arises. Think long term and standard too.
Take for example, you are job seeker, “have the thought of branding yourself ever crossed your mind?” Most jobseekers are not very proactive in establishing their career brand. Let’s say you were invited over for an interview, and you turn up an hour late, looking shabbily dressed. You have obviously given the interviewer the impression that you are the wrong person for the job, even if you are an “A” student.
So also the people that have a job, but are not contributing towards the growth of their company. Or maybe you are contributing but your efforts aren’t noticeable simply because you are not VISIBLE in the organization. The result of this situation is that someone else will take the credit at the end of the day. You need to do something fast otherwise you will not be useful to the organization in the nearest future.
By the way, why will you enjoy earning a salary without showing anything or contributing positively? That is an age long industrial thinking. Those days during our parents time when you have so many companies recruiting in mass. You can get away without performing much and still get a paycheck.  Now there are crises and downturn, so many companies are having financial problems and are retrenching people frequently. Some intentionally want to minimize expenses and maximize profit. The job that is supposed to be done by five people can now be carried out by one person with the help of computer. You can’t run away from the sledge hammer with the motion that you are a good team player, because most times you will be given a role to carry out without supervision. The moment you screw up, you are kicked away immediately, and some one else will gladly take over your position. Remember the number of people searching for jobs surpasses the number with job today in our country. The only way to get ahead is to acquire more skills, knowledge about what you do and then brand yourself in such a way that you will be visible in your organization.
Branding will give you the unfair advantage you desire. Look at other successful people what they do and learn from them. That is the only way you can get better at what you do. Experience, commitment and your attitude speaks more. So with all this I have said, I have no doubt you will put more effort by branding yourself in the following area;
Your career (acquire more knowledge)
• General appearance
• Your dress sense (dress for success)
• Your attitude to work
• Your communication pattern
• Your presentation skills
• Your personal hygiene
• Your integrity (never compromise standards)
• Your networking style etc.

Wishing you Success

Getting a job faster in Nigeria

I have always been impressed with those who could get a good job just immediately after graduating from university or within weeks of searching. While you might say that the whole thing depends on luck and connection; you must be quick to know that some folks have done their home work long before others. That is why most have jobs waiting for them at the point of graduation, while others still hunt for months and even years without success.
So lets quickly get to the point as I will share with you some little secrets that can help you get a job in Nigeria faster than you think.
1. USE YOUR NETWORK- Networking has been known as the most effective and easiest way to get a job. Though many overlook this aspect, it is very important. I was opportune to interview a lady last year that can for interview and after a minute of going through her impressive CV; I looked up to her asked why she has gotten a job since two years of graduation. She replied that “No one wants to give her a chance and that getting an interview is difficult” I asked her if she doesn’t have friends or relatives that can link her up or at least get a help” she replied by telling me that “she doesn’t have friends”. Its absurd for someone to go through secondary school and university without making friends. What that means is that she never imparted or contributed to anyone’s life. It is wasted opportunity if you are like that. It is good to build relationships as they can be a good pillar of support at difficult times. Now think back of those good friends you made at secondary school, university, polytechnic, hair salon, church, club meetings neighborhood, bus station, gym, super-market, clinic or even a relative. Go and speak to each of these people; you will get help that will make your job search easy and faster. It is the most reliable way of securing a job.

2. Apply online- The key to applying online is to fill out the form well. Especially the slots that have asterisks on them. Avoid pasting your CV on forums and other pubic online sources for everyone to read. People can easily scam with such move. First know what you want and go for it. Target at least 30 companies per month. Go online and google their name. Find out what they do, their location, clientele, products, competitors, mission and company history etc. with a hand full of information you can check their career section to see if they are hiring. The good things is that if you fill your form with key words that are needed; you stand a chance to be short listed or be called any time they are indeed of a new staff replace anyone. Prepare a detailed summary of yourself and at the bottom boldly differentiate how you are unique from every other person. Make sure use plenty of action verbs on your CV. That way you can stand a chance to be selected if you meet the requirements as most place do their recruitment online instead of the old routine of collecting resumes at the office.

3. USE REFERRAL SYSTEM: To get a job; you must first start with the people you know and the people you meet with everyday. Even if you don’t get a job with the place you go interview. Ask people you know or the interviewer to refer you to their friends or associates where they feel you can fit in easily.

4. Read NEWSPAERS: check newspaper to know when most companies are recruiting; punch and guardian have a day for advertising all the vacancies available. All you need do is to ask avendor around and them pay him some little money to around you seat near there , then read and extract information that suit you on your diary and follow up on them. I have tried iy=t and it works.
