Hello gurus.

I just realized a "minor" mistake in my application, whilst I was going through the documents I submitted. In my SOP and LOE, I wrote 2016, instead of 2017, for the date of my travel. This is due to the fact, I used the letter that I wrote for the visa application of my vacation last year as a template. I changed the dates and months but apparently, the year skipped my sight. The other documents
(application form, hotel bookings, flight reservation) all carry 2017, just the SOP and LOE. Should I be worried? If yes, how can I correct this in time, before it causes any problems?
Hello bro you got nothing to worry about basically alot of peeps make such error and the VO is also aware of this.

So got nothing to worry about once all your documents warrant a visa they will ask you about that.

Oga Jawa please how can online applicants apply for GCMS?

Jawa:
Dear anniora, the canadian VO is not bound by law to reveal the actual reason for refusal in the refusal letter like the UK ECOs are. They can tick whatever they like. I know someone who had been everywhere in Europe and had been to US and his canadian visa refusal had travel history as reason. He wasn't traveling too much or too long neither was he visiting hostile cities. Applying for GCMS notes is the only way to know why an application was refused. This is like writing an exam, failing and then re writing the same exam without knowing what or why you failed. A failure might just be imminent.
In your case, having visited and returned is an upper hand but every application is different. all applications are treated as though they're first timers as the 'dropbox' option is not available. Your chances cannot be told. You and the VO are in the best position to tell because only both of you know your story completely.
Best of luck

Please I submitted my application online and had my biometric taken since on the 19th of March, 2017. I haven't heard from them as regards the status of my application. Please should I send an email, if yes kindly assist with the email address please. Secondly, I am based in port harcourt, will I have to return back to the VAC to submit the passport if asked to produce it or can it be sent via courier. Kindly respond thanks
Don't expect to hear from them now it take about 60dsys after biometrics to make their decision.

They will request for you passport through your email when needed.

Jawa:
Hi, please dont be in a hurry to reapply. Apply for your GCMS notes. This may clarify things further. Then address its issues with documents. If this is properly done, then you have overcome the presumption and should qualify for a visa. I get confused when people say things like 'repackage and refire'. a VOs decision is not personal. When an applicant reapplies, One of the things the new VO may do is to make reference to the refused application . They work to implement immigration laws which are even online and you can read them. VOs are more confident when they see you know what you're doing. The best, always.
Since I submitted online how can I apply for GCMS Note

Hi expertman, i have seen your email request but i am a busy fellow and work stress is too much, lagos is not for the weak. I like to do this at my leisure and i do it because I understand the process and want to share and learn more. Please accept my apologies.

I am not sure what you're asking. Purpose of travel would be why you're visiting Canada and then Ontario in particular maybe even doen to when in ontario you're going. In the online portal however, what you provide as response to this question will be documented evidenve of your planned visit. Return air ticket reservation, hotel reservation, itinerary of planned activities and so on. Please pay for nothing until you have a canadian foil in your passport. I hope this helps. Best of luck
Thank you bro I really appreciate your effort and time.

The problem is I was recently refused based on purpose of visit even after outlining all places to visit and all.

This makes me weak as I don't know how I can explain this to them again as I really wish to re applly
CrimeEFCC Successfuly Secure Conviction Of Igbo Man In KANO by expertman(op): 7:03pm On Jun 02, 2017
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today June 1, 2017 secured the conviction of one Marcellinus Akochi Ezeoke before Justice Lawal Wada of the Kano State High Court on a one count charge of obtaining by false pretence.

The convict was arraigned on November 25, 2015 and pleaded not guilty to the charge. In the course of the trial, prosecution counsel Douglas I. Gift called two witnesses and presented several exhibits to prove the case against the convict.
The convict fraudulently obtained the sum of N1,010,000 (One Million, Ten Thousand Naira Only) from the complainant by falsely claiming that he was a car dealer based in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Base on that, the complainant sent him the said sum for the purchase of a Peugeot 406 but the convict failed to deliver the vehicle and became incommunicado.

In his judgment today, Justice Wada held that the prosecution had established the case against the convict beyond reasonable doubt and convicted him on count 2 of the charge.
Before the sentence, the convict pleaded for mercy. Consequently, Justice Wada sentenced him to two years imprisonment with option of N50,000 fine. The convict was also ordered to restitute the sum of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira ) to the court.

N5m Bribe:  Court Admits More Evidence Against Ofili-Ajumogobia
Justice O.H. Oshodi of the State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday, June 1, 2017, admitted in evidence a document tendered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against a serving Federal High Court judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia.

Ofili-Ajumogobia is standing trial alongside Godwin Obla, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, on a 30-count charge bordering on an alleged perversion of the course of justice, unlawful enrichment and forgery.

The defendants allegedly committed the offence on May 21, 2015, when they conspired to pervert the course of justice with the sum of N5m.
...
In her ruling on the admissibility of evidence today, Justice Oshodi over-ruled the objection raised by O. Akoni, SAN, and Robert Clarke, SAN, defence counsels to the first defendant, and Chief Ferdinard O. Obi, SAN, defence counsel to the second defendant, respectively.
Justice Oshodi ruled that “the witness cannot and should not be rejected from giving evidence in relation to the case.” Counsel to the first defendant, Akoni, had sought the leave of the court to enable his client, Ofili-Ajumogobia, who is said to be suffering from high blood pressure and stress-related issues, to travel to the US for urgent medical attention.
...
Ruling on the application, the judge said: “I believe that the first defendant as a Federal High Court Judge has a lot to lose if she considers the idea of jumping bail. “The Chief Registrar is hereby ordered to release the international passport of the first defendant to enable her travel abroad between June 7 and June13, 2017. “The defendant must return the passport to the Chief Registrar on or before July 1, 2017.” Justice Oshodi also granted the second defendant, Obla, leave to travel to Houston, Texas, US for medical treatment.

Obla was ordered to return his passport to the Chief Registrar on July 4, 2017.

The case was adjourned to July 6, 2017 for continuation trial.

Court Convicts Man For $7,016.00 Internet Fraud

Justice A.M. Nicol-clay of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, convicted an Internet fraudster, Moka Chukwuemeka Pascal, for a $7,016 fraud.

The accused was arraigned on an amended one-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretense to the tune of $7,016.00.

Pascal had approached an Australian national, Russel Stanley Loach, demanding the sum of $7,016.00 to enable him secure the release of his (Loach) girlfriend from some kidnappers’ captivity.

The victim allegedly paid the money into the account of the suspect’s accomplice, who is now at large.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, M. S. Usman, told the court that the accused had entered a plea bargain agreement with the Commission.

The prosecution counsel also urged the court to adopt as its judgment the terms of the plea bargain agreement with the accused.

The prosecution counsel tendered some documents, including the petition, statement of defendant, EFCC’s letter to Access Bank Plc as well as the response from the bank, which were all admitted as exhibits by the court.

The prosecution counsel further told the court that the accused had paid the sum of $7,016.00 in restitution to the victim.

In response, counsel to the accused, Olaide Adedapo, urged the court to temper justice with mercy.
Consequently, Justice Nicol-clay convicted the accused of the charge.

Justice Nicol-clay adjourned the case tillJune 6, 2017 for sentencing and ordered the accused to be remanded in the EFCC custody.

EFCC Arrests Two For N1.5m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested two suspected fraudsters, John Onos Zino and Festus Otoigiahae, for N1.5m (One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira) fraud.

Their arrest on Thursday, May 25, 2015 in Lagos followed a petition written by one Victor Adoji, an employee of Zenith Bank Plc, to the Commission.

Zino, a 63-year-old property developer, had allegedly approached the complainant, Adoji, claiming to be a lawyer with the Commission.
Zino, who hails from Delta State, also allegedly told Adoji that he could help him “kill” a petition written against him by the second suspect, Otoigiahae, about his suspicious lifestyle, if he could pay the sum of N1.5m

Investigation revealed that Otoigiahae, who had worked as a driver for the complainant, was introduced to Zino by one Chika, a member of his (Otoigiahae) church.

Thereafter, the complainant allegedly agreed to pay the sum of N1.5m to Zino to enable him “kill” the petition before the Commission.

However, the complainant, who suspected a foul play, approached Commission about his encounter with Zino, where he was advised to play along.

Consequently, the complainant allegedly arranged a meeting with the first suspect, Zino, to give him the sum of N1m as part payment.

Operatives of the EFCC, however, swooped on the first suspect, Zino in a sting operation.

The suspects will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.

Dear Abujaniv,

You really doing a great job here I pray that the almighty enlarge your coast.

A close junior brother of mine who got his admission FI20 package from Missouri was denied last week.

Reasons are he wanted to study business administration as he had a National diploma in business administration but was given accounting by Missouri.

So when the Vo asked him his course of study here said business administration the Vo asked him like twice he said same.

Then the vO refused him saying he has Accounting on his FI20 .

He wrote the school and the school issued him a well signed letter addressed to the U.S embassy that both accounting, business administration, finance all fall in one group in their Craig business school.

He choose Missouri because it fits his parent budget and it was introduced to him by one of his lecturer who is an alumnus of Missouri.

Now what's his chances of the visa with the new letter addressed to the embassy and would he say he is now going for accounting?

Hope to hear back from you.

His new interview date is tomorrow

Corruption is Condemnable by God - Danmasanin Kano

The Kano operational zone of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today, May 23, 2017 carried out a mass Walk Against Corruption.

Zonal Head of Operation, Dr Adamu Hamisu Danmusa said the walk was aimed at sensitizing the public on the evils of corruption and to carry them along in the bid to drive corruption out of Nigeria.

The walk started from the Commission's Kano Zonal Office and terminated at the Race Course, Nasarawa in the Kano Metropolis featured several stakeholders from ICPC, NDLEA, KAROTA and Civil Defence.

At the termination of the rally, Elder Statesman
and former Minister in the first Republic, Alhaji Sule Maitama, Danmasanin #Kano gave a remarkable speech in which he described the walk of the Commission as God's Work. “Corruption is condemned by God, those that are fighting corruption are doing God's Work”, he said.

The Danmasani also warned that if we don't
fight corruption, we would never achieve greatness in the eyes of the world. "We are potentially a great country, a country that will take its proper place in the comity of nations, but we must work hard in order to realize that potential greatness".

Armsgate: EFCC Tenders Evidence, Says Dokpesi Received N2.1bn from ONSA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, May 25, 2017 tendered in evidence details of correspondences between DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited, Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA and Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, to the effect that Raymond Dokpesi received money to the tune of N2.1billion from ONSA.

The documents were tendered by the anti-graft agency through Azonabor, who testified as PW5 in the trial of Dokpesi and DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited, who are facing a six-count charge relating to the sum of N2.1billion allegedly received from the ONSA between October 2014 and March, 2015 for the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential media campaign.

Azonabor, an operative of EFCC, while being led in evidence by counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, informed the court of details of several letters originating from the EFCC in the course of investigating the alleged diversion of billions of naira meant for the purchase of arms by the ONSA under Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).
...
“In the course of our investigation, it was realized that a huge sum of money was paid into the account of DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited by ONSA. “A letter was written from EFCC to ONSA requesting for details of the said payment. Consequently, ONSA replied that series of payments were made to DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited to the tune of N2.1billion.
...
The three letters were tendered and admitted as Exhibit D1, D2 and D3.
...
Jacobs drew attention of the court to Exhibit D1, noting that within a period of three months (that is, between January and March 2015), the sum of N2billion was paid to DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited and a letter of invite was placed to DAAR Investment and Holdings Limited who replied via its solicitor, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, clearly denying any business transactions with the ONSA.
...
Justice Tsoho adjourned to July 6 - 7, 2017 for the continuation of trial.

Hello bro,

Please are you currently in Bahamas?

momoyama:
Actually, the Bahamas is not in the Caribbean. Rather it is in the Atlantic, like Bermuda and the Turks and Caicos. Many outsiders do not realise that, but to us it is a very clear distinction. And it is VERY different from Jamaica. But I would expect most people from far away places (like Nigeria) would assume it is the same or maybe not even have heard of the Bahamas.

For the record, the Bahamas is where Columbus landed when he discovered America. Most people do not realize that he never went to the continental United States and that "America" refers to the whole continent.
