On PTDF seeking admission:
This is very dicey as PTDF claims to help with Admission, however it is better to secure your admission yourself so as not to be forced to defer the scholarship to another year. Several people had to choose lower ranking schools last year for their scholarships because they waited for PTDF to come with the admission, however the admission for many schools had closed by the time PTDF released their scholars. So I would suggest one to have atleast one school that one will apply for admissions to.
Ideally what happens is that once PTDF has offered one a scholarship, the school will then invite the candidate to apply, what happens when the admissions are closed? the school cannot reserve a slot for PTDF candidates exclusively as these programs are subscribed for by candidates from all over the world.
IFP for example closes their admissions very early, Nothing PTDF can do to guarantee you a place. |

For the 2017/2018 editions where exams were used, class of degree didn't matter much, only performance in the exam - however with the new method class of degree as well as number of A1s in WAEC along with publications and awards all matter SuomyNona: Her profile is plausible to be awarded in the 2018 edition. She must have made a huge impression at the interview session and compliment her performance with a sound SOP. |
Education › Re: 2020 PTDF Overseas Scholarship In France, Germany, China And Malaysia by ExpertNLer: 3:32pm On Dec 07, 2019 |
This is spot on. The rest of one's profile are set in stone/in the past. The only degrees of freedom remaining are 1. Professional Memberships 2. Publications 3. Interview 4. Statement of Purpose. So one would do well to maximise his chances by maxing out those. SuomyNona: In previous years before 2018, performing well in the organized aptitude can help your case without having outstanding academic qualifications and in 2018 your SOP/Interview performance have more significant in the grading percentage (75%).
But in the last edition, academic achievements was given more significant preference in the percentage grading. Degree Class - 30% (30- 1st, 24 - 2'1, 18 - 2'2), O Level grade in 5 relevant subjects - 30% (A1 - 6, B2 - 5......C6 - 1), Notable Academic Awards 10% (4 max, 2.5 marks each), Publication 5% and SOP/Interview performance 25%.
Irrespective of an applicant academic profile, my advice is to apply, compose a convincing SOP and to prepare adequately for the interview in order to maximize whatever point they will attach to each sections for the next edition. |

Sciences Po has some law courses I think XtraSmooth404: If UK was possible this time, I'd have said you should choose Oil & Gas Law in Robert Gordon university, or Energy Law & Policy in Dundee university, or International Commercial Law in university of Nottingham, etc.
Go through the listed countries/schools and see if there's any law related option listed. |

There's no grading for NYSC. Pr0cter: That's a lie. Do you know that there's is a grading for nysc certificate and supporting documents.
It's mostly in rare cases a corper can be selected and it mostly those from the northern state where there is very less competition. Get ur fact right. In case you don't know, most cases of selected 2.2 / 2.1 are from the north |

you can upload the part that has your final CGPA/grade too Sirwallace: I already achieved 100kb for a document.
I have 10 document to upload and convert to a single page pdf doc. Thats over 1000kb way overboard the 300kb limit.
Or can I just upload just 4 documents? |
Education › Re: 2020 PTDF Overseas Scholarship In France, Germany, China And Malaysia by ExpertNLer: 2:42pm On Dec 05, 2019 |
Currently not applying, just know those who are. I was also concerned with the 300kb requirement as it becomes difficult to have the transcripts clear at that resolution. Have you tried using smallpdf online converter? Sirwallace: I tried compress the whole file to 300kb. But the visual is very blurring.
How did you do yours? |

The point is to develop capacity, have improved qualifications and some exposure to the global scene. As for jobs, that will largely depend on the immigration laws of the countries one is studying, ofcourse going abroad will provide access to other opportunities abroad and widen the scope of job search, but one cannot simply forget to apply for Nigerian opportunities as well, especially at top companies that recruit globally e.g Total, Exxon, Nigeria LNG and the likes hinere: Please I have one other question.... 1) If someone gets accepted for this program, travels, studies and finishes, can the person stay back in that country work?
This is because it will sad to go over there, study and them come back here to start hustling all over again.
I went for a job interview sometime back and the guy sitting next to me studied in UK through all this programs but he was sponsored by relatives. He then finished and came back and started hustling for jobs here in Nigeria. In my mind, why didn't you just stay back in UK and work but he said they told them to return to their home country after studying.
So if this program entails scholars to return back to their home country after studying, then what's the point of travelling then? This is because 90% of Nigerians applying for this scholarship just want to leave Nigeria for good. The program is just more or less a gateway to move out for them or am I lying? |

It is expected to be uploaded as a single PDF less than 300kb in size Sirwallace: How many folders is needed for the upload as I have the unofficial transcript with me for every semesters in school totalling 10 papers.
Is there space on the platform to upload all of that? |

Vocational definitely have their own recruitment schedules. As for graduates, degrees are what they look for Sheggzyunited: Why do Nigerians only see vocational trainee as useless when hiring?
