At least 24 people have died and 318 have been injured after a packed passenger train derailed in western Turkey.

The train was heading from Edirne, near the border with Greece, to Istanbul on Sunday evening with 362 passengers and six crew on board when it came off the tracks.

Finnish diver Mikko Paasi is one of many divers from all over the world who've joined in the rescue mission.


On standby, Thai nurses wait outside the Chaingrai Prachanukroh Hospital, where the schoolboys will be brought after being rescued.

The youngsters will be led out of the tunnels one by one and taken directly to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh hospital, 57km (35miles) from the cave.

The youngsters will be led out of the cave one by oneand taken directly to hospital.

The most critical will be airlifted by helicopters while the less fragile will be transported by ambulance.

All of the boys have been told about the operation and they are ready to come out, the governor said.

'They are very strong and determined to come out and be reunited with their families.

'The rescue mission will continue until all of the stranded boys and their coach are safe, he said.

The first boy may be out of the cave by 9pm local time.

The evacuation team is made up of 18 divers.

This includes 13 specialists who have come to Thailand for the operation and 5 highly experienced Thai divers.

'This is an all-star team of divers,' Governor Narongsak said.



Experienced divers from all over the world are pictured making their way into the cave system which has already claimed the life of one rescuer.

The entire traffic stop was caught by an officer's bodycam, which led prosecutors to dismiss the case.

A court has ordered the Miami-Dade Police Department to return the glittery cash and pay the couple's $3,000 legal bill.
