In 2012, Edward Archbold of West Palm Beach, Florida died after winning a cockroach eating contest. The official cause of death was accidental choking due to “arthropod body parts.”

Ohio lawyer Clement Vallandigham was defending a client on a charge of murder. While showing the court how the victim might have accidentally shot themselves, Clement really did accidentally shoot himself. He died, but he won the case.

In 2011, Fagilyu suffered a heart attack, was wrongly pronounced dead, and woke up at her own funeral in Kazan, Russia. When she opened the coffin and saw what was happening, she suffered another heart attack and died.

A Toronto lawyer, Garry fell to his death when he threw himself against a window on the 24th floor of a downtown skyscraper. Ironically, he was trying to demonstrate to visitors that the glass was “unbreakable.”

Takuya Nagaya, 23, from Japan, started to slither on the floor and claim he had become a snake. Takuya died after his father spent the next two days head-butting and beating him "to drive the snake that had possessed him." The injury he sustained from the beating led to his death.

In 2013, Elisa Lam, from Vancouver, British Columbia, was missing for several weeks before being found dead in a large water storage tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, after guests complained about the taste and smell of the water.

In 2018, Elaine Herzberg, a 49-year old woman in Tempe, Arizona, died after being hit by a self-driving car operated by Uber, as she crossed the road, in what was reported to be the first death of a pedestrian struck by a self-driving car on public roads. In response to the fatal accident, Uber suspended self-driving car tests in all U.S.cities.

in 2007, lovebirds Brent Tyler and Chelsea Tumbleston, both 21, tumbled 50ft from a roof-top in Columbia, South Carolina while caught having fun. Their naked bodies were found on the road by a taxi driver.

Hunter Stephen Whinfrey paid with his life after tracking a rabbit down its burrow on a New Year's Eve hunting trip. Stephen, 50, tried to spot his prey he got his head stuck in the hole and suffocated.

The man who died after a cow fell on him while sleeping. Joao Maria De Souza was sleeping in his bedroom when suddenly a cow fell through his roof and on to him. The cow was believed to have climbed up the roof which abutted a steep hillside and came crashing down after the roof was unable to support its weight. The animal fell nearly 8 feet down and on to the unsuspecting victim. Though his wife who was sleeping next to him managed to come out of this with minor injuries, the man unfortunately died.

The young man who jumped into a lake infested with piranhas. The incident happened in the town of Rosario del Yata, Bolivia in 2011 and was met with horrifying reactions from people. The 18 year old kid was drunk when he decided to jump from his canoe into the lake infested with piranhas. The attack from the deadly fishes eventually led to him bleeding to death. On investigation, it was discovered that the reason might have been suicide for he was a known fisherman in the region. Contrary to popular belief, it’s actually rare to hear about piranhas killing people but unfortunately that wasn’t the case for this young man.

Death by wedding photograph. The bride who drowned during her photoshoot. It’s extremely sad to hear about someone dying right after their wedding because in many ways marriage is the beginning of a new life for most. A 30 year old beautiful woman, however, was met with misfortune when she decided to get more wedding photographs after her marriage. The incident happened at the Ouareau River near Montreal. She was standing in the water while her pictures were being taken. The concept of the photo shoot was based on the popular “Trash the Dress” style. Her wedding dress started soaking in more water and started weighing her down. She asked the photographer to help her get out but the heaviness of the fabric ultimately caused her to sink and drown.

French undertaker Marc Bourjade was killed when a pile of coffins at his workshop fell on top of him. Fittingly, he was buried in one of the caskets that killed him.

An experienced skydiver Ivan McGuire, 35, decided to film his two mile jump above North Carolina. He remembered his camera but forgot to pull his parachute and filmed to his own death.

In 2010 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 20 crew and passengers died in a plane crash when a crocodile being smuggled by a traveller in a sports bag, freed itself. Panicked passengers all ran towards the flight deck and the tiny plane unbalanced and crashed. One passenger and the crocodile survived.

Nigerian businessman and polygamist Uroko Onoja died after being forced by five of his six wives to have sex with each of them. Onoja was caught having sex with his youngest wife by the remaining five, who were jealous of him paying her more attention. They demanded that he also have sex with each of them, threatening him with knives and sticks.
