Many years ago, I used to live opposite Central Police Station(CPS), Uwani, Enugu. Back in the day, I winessed a lot criminal paraded, some alive, some dead. The modus operandi of the Police was to arrange a dead body, place a cache of guns and ammunition around the body, invite the press and the general public to come and view the "dangerous criminal" they killed, and then spin one fantastic story about a gun battle with the alleged dead criminal.

But some of the stories never matched what we saw on ground. In fact, in some of these public displays, the Police would use the same guns they had used in other display's and we would know that the Police were lying about the whole thing.

Yesterday, the authorities paraded the body of someone called "Ikonso" whom they claim is the commander of ESN in Imo. They said he was killed in a gun battle. However, a good look at the picture tells another story.

He was captured alive and tortured to death

The picture shows Ikonso on the floor, stripped to his briefs, his body covered in bruises. Next to the body is a cache of arms and ammunition, hand guns, machette and military uniforms.

1. If Ikonso was killed in a gun battle, as the authorities allege, he would not have bruises and torture marks all over his body. Nobody tortures a corpse.

2. How is it that Ikonso was easily captured and killed if he was still in possession of the firepower displayed with his body?

3. How is it that Ikonso was a ESN commander, but nothing about ESN, IPOB or even Biafra, was recovered from him? The hats, uniforms and guns paraded with his body are more to do with the Army that captured him. Isnt that strange?

Today, 2 soldiers and 4 Police men have been confirmed killed in Owerri-PHC road checkpoint in revenge and more could be taken out because of mangrove forests terrain provides cover where ambush can be effectively carried out by a well trained Guerilla armed group.

Why ? You don't want Ipob/ESN to kill more soldiers n police from the Zoo.

Chimaroke's political structure was known as Ebeano. The moment Sullivan was sworn in at Okpara Square, the teaming crowd started screaming "Ebeano, Ebeano". To everyone's surprise, Sullivan told the people there and then that Ebeano had come to an end. That was the end of the Ebeano political structure and godfatherism in Enugu state till date. Chimaroke tried to hold ground, but the governor hit the ground running and within one year, he had ensured that Chimaroke was quarantined to his senate position in Abuja. And after 4 years, Chimaroke couldn't as much as win a reelection ticket to the senate.

When Chime handed over to Gburus in 2015, he didn't even as much as send nominees for commissioner. He simply moved to APC so that nobody would disturb his life for him. He has since moved on.

I agree with you, Obaseki started fighting quite late. I hope they can withstand the APC rigging machine.
