Without trying to sound tribal,the igbos and the various tribes in the ND ,even while in Lagos,get to identify and even develop their home towns but I noticed that most yorubas completely turn their backs on their states of origin,leave in lagos and when dead are buried in the nearest cemetary to the hospital. That's a case of 100% migration.
And this neglect is why it seems Lagos towers well above other western states

Apart from Lagos and a few Ogun towns that border Lagos,the rest are still rustic and rural in setting. Ibadan which started out well,somehow entered on a reverse mode.
Objectively,on a regional level and even spread,I give it to south-south. A region that has Ph,Asaba,Warri,Yenagoa,Uyo,Benin city,Calabar,Ikot Ekpene,ughelli etc. Most state capitals in the south west don't come close to these towns.

Am not a bit surprised at the action of Babatunde Fashola. It is very typical of him. He is a man whose belief system is that if you want anything from govt,you must be ready to pay for it,despite any huge cost you are already paying and the poor quality you've been getting.
He is not a man known for consumer friendly policies.
I told some people when Fashola was made minister that Nigerians should be ready to pay thru their noses for everything under his ministries.
Today,my prediction (which wasn't hard to come by if you know Fashola's antecedents)has come true.
Now we are dealing with a 45% increase in electricity tarriff,even when the quality of power supply has since nose-dived. And in his typical characteristic,he will appeal to the masses to accept the 'premium' for an improved quality service.
When done,we all can be rest assured that the toll gates will be fully re-introduced on our roads and he will urge all to accept it too for an improved road network.
Nigerians should join us to 'enjoy' the Fashola style of administration.

Let me tell you a true story of a distant relative, the wife (then fiancee) got pregnant before they announced their wedding plans to their family and church. The church they attend is against the pregnant before wedding thing, the couple are active church workers. What did they do? They aborted their baby, waited some months when all the pregnancy signs must have disappeared before they announced to both Family,friends and church.

The result : It's over ten years now after marriage and they have no child! Good thing is the couple is happy and family don't stress them out on the child issue.

Conclusion: The society puts too much undue stress through meaningless celebrations and traditions on intending couples. I am a product of pregnant before wedding in the mid-80's, my parents headed to the court to legally get married. I was quite aware and had two younger siblings already when they did the church blessings thingy. AND THE WORLD DID NOT END!

Something similar happened to me in JSS 3 back then in school. One of my classmates who happens to be a staunch enemy of mine was annoyingly crushing on my younger sister in JSS 2 and won't let her rest.
