I had cause to go to a local govt in okigwe,I cried and asked if govt has ever been here. I wept. For the sake of this people,I was tempted to step forth for governorship,just to bring some development to this people. For the very 1st time,I went to a village and all my 3mobile phones lost network. I later enquired from other people in my zone(owerri zone) and they confirmed that its that bad for majority of the places within okigwe zone.
If I am ever the governor,I will literary move my administration to okigwe town. While growing up,that town was on its way to becoming a major city like owerri. Infact after the creation of abia in 1992,imo was positioning to be a twin city state,like abia that has umuahia and aba and anambra that has awka,onitsha and even nnewi,thanks to okigwe,but all of a sudden,okigwe entered into regression with no sign of government presence.
In my area,most of the projects were done under the NDDC,thanks to the last pdp administration as its a strong pdp base(those in politics can guess). Had it been that we relied on the govt of Rochas Okorocha for growth,we probably would have been drawn back to stone ages.
It is well with you. Someday,a good man will rise to remember that okigwe zone and 'the people shall rejoice'.

Nobody should complain. We warned them against voting this fraudster called Rochas but they wouldn't listen. They called us all sorts of names. Now,they must 'enjoy' his govt.
Everyday,am besieged with various cries of people suffering in that state,people who vehemently resisted us when we warned them.

Am not a fan of Ben Murray Bruce,but I think its unfair to say that the man was silent on the Ese abduction. I remember that he(bruce) came online to state that he wasn't around and had no access to the internet but immediately he read about it,he put a personal call to Emir Sanusi Lamido to get the girl out. He also threatened the IG,Arase that he would report him to Human Right Commission for complacency. That was when Arase jumped to his feet to secure the kid's release which they were trying to sweep under the carpet. Sanusi now had to comply when such calls from a personal friend like bruce came in.
Personally,I think he did enough for the girl's release and should be commended for it

It's not so. This is not the old road, the old road as I heard is better than this one but transporters don't take that route because they believe it's a longer route.

Actually,the old road was recently tarred by Sullivan Chime and that road though much longer is very clean(trust sullivan for tidy jobs),so most people ply it to burst out at Nigerian Breweries factory,ama or continue forward.

Not one single northern critisized GEJ for spending on them amidst insecurity. A few people start an ipob movement and you (nwa afo igbo) is justifying that the president of the whole nation shouldn't fulfil his campaign promise cos of it.

Anyone care to explain why?

Permit me to explain without any bias to tribe. If you are an economist or business scholar,you will understand that modern researchers have discovered that unlike in the past where it was generally accepted that we had 4p's(product,place,price and promotion),today there is an inevitable 5th P known as 'politics'. What this means is that you need government support,endorsement and cover to make a certain level of success in business.
Those men you see there are successful no doubt,but their major breakthroughs can be attributed to one govt or the other(some are even beyond 1 govt). Eg,there was no Otedola before obasanjo,no Jimoh ibrahim(though going broke now). Every new govt leads to the emergence of a new set to join the existing. Most of the northern billionaires are a result of long years of northern oilgarchy and rule.
Most of the igbos you see are purely self made and independent of any govt. Its only in recent times that we now see the likes of ifeanyi ubah, innoson,coscharis, orange drugs etc dine with the corridors of power. Prior to now,its been purely on the 1st 4p's. Now imagine what will happen if a govt sympathetic to their cause comes in.
Finally,a research of per capita income has shown that Nigeria's wealth and its concentration is like a triangle. While the tip has very few igbos(the forbes' category),the stage after the tip has a concentration of the igbos. In simple words,they may have a few dollarized billionaires,but have most dollarized millionaires. So they have a higher spread of wealth,unlike in some regions where you will have a few making the forbes' rich list and yet has the highest number of destitutes and beggers in the whole federation.

Immediately I saw the heading of 'the worst federal road ever travelled' I rushed in to counter your argument with the fact that it couldn't be worse than enugu-onitsha express road, but alas,I came in to see that you are talking about the same road.
When I plan to travel to enugu from lagos,just to avoid that road I usually make a detour in onitsha and head to owerri where I'll just look for something to do for a day or two and then from owerri I'll enter enugu thru the enugu-ph express way(via ituku ozalla). All,just to avoid this 45mins toture of a road

I think he's part of a joint patrol with the mobile police team(as evidenced by the mobile truck behind). There are various occassions that they have such joint teams,eg escorting a VIP. So,I believe this FRSC officer just borrowed the gun of the mobile officers attached to the joint team to snap this picture.

I read with dismay the bill which El-rufai has sent to the Kaduna state house of assembly to control the 'licensing of pastors' and regulation of the duration they can speak on the pulpit etc. How that bill has passed second reading still beats me.
But I had expected the christian communities and the clerics to arise early and voice out against it and probably fast and pray for God's intervention while they do what they can humanly to stop the bill(eg,peaceful protests,lobbys,sensitization,etc) but instead they characteristically keep quiet. When its passed into law and its enforcement starts,they'll start crying persecution.

Nobody will blame you for not understanding. That 'portion' as you called it used to keep travellers going to the east overnight on the road,exosing them to frequent attacks and robbery. Today,many transport companies have resumed night journeys because of the repair of that portion. Traders can now continue their business without hinderance as a result. Goods can now move thru the night and arrive at its designated location by morning. All because of the tarring of this 'portion'.
