FULL TEXT OF LETTER FROM ALHAJI SHEHU SHAGARI TO BUHARI

My brother, you have contested the Presidential elections 3 times in this country and in all these times,you have never asked me or my people at Shagari village to support your bid. It is very obvious why you can't do that. You don't have the courage after what you did to me.

You truncated democracy with a dastardly coup and took away power from me. You humiliated me and made me to suffer, and you took away my opportunity to RULE Nigeria. You said you do not want democracy in Nigeria.. The same democracy you truncated, you are fighting hard to get with desperation and diabolical power.

You have entered into unholy alliance with some known elements of disunity in the south but let me warn you. You will suffer hard in the hands of Tinubu and his political merchants who will use and dump you as they did to Nuhu. In 2011, you cried publicly when you lost election, and you made provocative and inciting statements that plunged this country into untoward unrest. You provoked our hot-blooded youths with war cries which erupted into post election violence, that brought Boko Haram into existence, over 500 innocent Nigerians died instantly, most of them youth corpers deployed from one of the unifying agencies of this country. Personally, I do not have a problem with your ambition.

It is your arrogance that bothers me. If you cannot summon the courage to ask me and my family to vote for you because you know we would not, why do you think Nigerians would look kindly on your past record of destroying a progressing democratic institutions painfully put in place by some respected fathers of this nations like Awolowo and Azikiwe. No my brother. It is time to wake up from your delusion and do the needful if you still have some conscience.

I am not writing this to you with vengeance intention. I am a practicing Muslim and we leave matters of vengeance to Allah. I write to you as a Nigerian, your brother and a statesman who is deeply concerned. Quit the presidential race now and save this country from the dangling sword of Damocles being menacingly wield by the crooks who surround you. This elections is not about you or President Goodluck Jonathan. It is about the unity of Nigeria which can only be assured by being fair. By this I mean, being fair to the people of Niger Delta.

We can only do this by either re-electing Goodluck or substitute him with any of his kinsmen from the South-south as that can only count fair for a people who are entitled to 8 years in the office of the President. For the elders council in the north, we have come to the conclusion to work towards realizing that fairness. 4 years more is not eternity. It is not too much of a concession for us to make to move Nigeria forward as one indivisible and united country under one God.

May Allah open your mind to see reason.

1. Obasanjo’s government spent $16bn for power, and only achieved to change the name of NEPA to PHCN, yet some people and Obasanjo says Jonathan’s Government is corrupt.

2. Obasanjo’s government, Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar were involved in a $180m Halliburton bribery scam that made world news, Yet Obasanjo says Jonathan’s Government is corrupt.

3. Obasanjo’s government, Obasanjo and Atiku spent about N1tn with Siemens for the production of National ID Card, with a N34bn bribery scam. I am yet to get mine, Yet Obasanjo says Jonathan is corrupt.

4. Bola Ahmed Tinubu used Babatunde Fashola to build 1 kilometer of road for N1.2bn, while Akpabio builds same for N120m. Yet Tinubu and Fashola says Jonathan is corrupt.

5. Bola Tinubu and Fashola spent $460 million (N55 billion at 2009 exchange rate of N118/$1) of tax payer’s money in the name of Lekki-Epe Concession Company (LCC) to build a toll gate, and yet taxed Lagosians even after claiming to buy back the concession, for using the road with no records, Yet Tinubu, Fashola and Obasanjo says Jonathan is corrupt.

6. Buhari delegated all powers to Afri-Project Consortium (APC), a consulting firm owned by his Wife’s brother, which allowed his In-law’s firm to Initiate all projects for the PTF, Approve all projects for the PTF and Execute all projects for the PTF. APC was able to make away with N25, 758,532,444 (Twenty-five billion, seven hundred and fifty-eight million, five hundred and thirty-two thousand, four hundred and forty-four Naira). Buhari says he did not know. Yet Buhari, Tinubu claims Jonathan is corrupt.

7. Rotimi Amaechi spent N50bn to build a 2 kilometer monorail that is yet to be completed. And Amaechi, Tinubu, Buhari says Jonathan is corrupt.

8. 56,000 ghost workers were discovered and terminated, so former President called President Jonathan to leave the 56,000 ghost workers to remain in status quo, When President Jonathan ignored, Obasanjo claimed that Jonathan is corrupt. Nigeria was rated the 2nd most corrupt Nation in the world as at 1999 – 2007 when Obasanjo was president, then rated 3rd from 2007 till 2011. In 2014, Nigeria is rated 37th in the world, with a four months review that will place Nigeria at 46th. Yet Obasanjo says Jonathan is corrupt...even the PDP refugees that are now APC are saying Jonathan is corrupt...NIGERIANS judge for yourselves!!!!!! You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

Mr Eyop,kindly forget about your custom office cos he'll still handover your job to an agent after removing his own cut,what he can just do is grease his way across checkpoints after the agent has given him the finished papers but woe betide him if he meets a superior officer who's not ready to collect bribes.Idiroko is like the home of fake duty papers,even custom officers are seen all around the bush paths obtaining bribes from smugglers,the only thing you can use to verify is if the car actually passed through the customs' vehicle seat.

Gbenga i understand your point and sincerely have not experience any issue with custom papers with any vehicle purchased in Cotonou. Infact,i was stopped on my way to Abuja(2 different vehicle) by Customs and they used my documents to show other car owners how a genuine customs paper should be. Some Customs documents sometimes are genuine but if the duty was under-paid,one will experience a problem.

Boss,how many times will I tell people that berger is filled with accidented vehicles smuggled out of cotonou with fake duty papers,that's why they're always cheap but customers will still go at the end of day and get stuck with customs on their way out of lagos.No pun intended boss but I was just surprised when you stated your experience in cotonou and I'm sorry.

90% (if not more) of cars at Berger is from Cotonou and few from Tincan Lagos. You will also find accidented vehicles,stolen vehicles(may not be much) in Cotonou and customs paper related issues depends on who's handling the paperwork for you. I do mine at Idiroko border because i have a Customs officer there who was in Seme border before transferred. Like i said,my ordeal @ Cotonou had nothing to do with fake papers.

Mr. Gbenga are you sure am the one that used to create an impression that your prices are expensive? May be when i call you,you'll remember me. For your information,i didn't buy that vehicle in Cotonou but in Berger Lagos. My ordeal in Cotonou has nothing to do with fake customs papers but something else.

that is the point my brother, the op's life was seriously put under danger by Inspired. he was quite lucky not to have slept in the police station with all the risk involved. i just called my friend and asked him to check the papers of the car he is pre ordering from him. NOT READY TO BAIL HIM FROM THE STATION.

I slept at Ofosu before Ore for 2 days because of fake custom papers and i know what i went through because the vehicle was seized and i paid #50,000 the 3rd day to get the vehicle released. So i understand what the OP went through.

let's look at it from the business angle of things ,this pre order business won't last long again. The best way to stay in the auto business is bring the cars in and get sales men to get market for them. To me that is the future of the car sales business. I have read at least up to 5 different cases of pre order business dealers gone bad ,I won't be surprised if cotonu dealers take over ,because at least the client can go their and see what he is buying before paying.

Is it because there are no threads created on Nairaland on Cotonou deals gone bad? I am a victim of Cotonou deal so i know why i insist that pre-order still happens to be the best(for me and may be others) and "sometimes" when buying new because some of the dealership here only sell base models which is not what some clients want. It all depends on what you are comfortable with anyway.

My brother it makes sense to pre-order but the dealership you contract for such services matters and nothing more. You get the best when you pre-order and i'll be very comfortable to do a pre-order that is worth over #10million.

APC has been consistent in saying that PDP has ruled Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption, impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills of the society held sway.
But a closer look at the APC i'm seeing
1. Rotimi Amaechi - 8 yrs speaker; 7 years Governor under PDP
2. Atiku Abubakar - 8 years Vice President under PDP
3. George Akume - 8 years Governor under PDP
4. Bukola Saraki - 8 years Governor; 2 years Senator under PDP
5. Timipre Sylva - 4 Years Governor under PDP
6. Audu Ogbeh - 2 years PDP Chairman
7. Aminu Masari - 4 years speaker house of Reps under PDP
8. Chris Ngige - 3 yrs governor under PDP
9. Rabiu Kwankwaso - 7 years governor; 3 years defense minister under PDP
10. El Rufai - 4 years FCT minister; 2 years BPE chairman under PDP
11....to cap it all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man who spent 8 years of the disastrous 16 years as the maximum ruler of Nigeria.
It is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of PDP, where the people who created and perpetuated the 16 disastrous years are now dumped.
So where is the change coming from? Are they now saints because they joined APC?
