Okotie and his wife did not, repeat did not divorce. It is a separation. Mariage counselors knows the diference. His wife walk out and can still walk back in. The thing about this is that Okotie has no control over the issue and he cant stop his wife against her will.

Who do u think will loose if they are not serious about the interview? Not the applicants but the Banks themselves. Whether they were made up of one million other banks, the fact is that they are one of the existing banks right now. i dont think u have more knowledge about what is the state of their affairs than Soludo wh granted them their operatinf license. Not every bank will be like UBA,Zenith or First Bank. If they are mega banks then they shld be smaller ones. Not every bank as a matter of fact shld even aspire to be big.

Even Jesus Himself acknowlegded that u have to do the "act of given smrthing to Ceaser" in the first place. U have to participate in paying tax. If u have the right to pay tax, what stops u from demanding how the tax u paid is used?? The way to demand how ur tax money is used in through the instrumentality of politics, u can call it anything but the bottom line is politics.
Jesus parents shortly before he was born was involved in a census organised and directed by Ceaser's government, ask urself, why didnt they opt out of the exercise. Afterall it was organised "under" Ceaser.
To serve a God who is "The possessor of the whole world" and be under the delusion that you cannot participate in making decisions that affects it because it is under some carnal influence is to run away from the truth. That is what your whole argument points to.
Bush won the US election against Kerry in 2004 because of his Christian conservative background. I acknowlegde that satan has had so much influnce in the way the whole world is being governed. But i reject in its entirety that because of that Christians should not participate in politics. If that is so we will never get to know of Chritian political heroes like Abraham Lincoln, John Quincy Adams and Benjamin Franklin whose Christian backgrounds helped shaped the greatness of the American nation.
U sound very much academic, but the reasons for your doctrines concerning this topic is cluesless and based on the fictions of your own mind. Thats regretable.

And what about Rev. Chris Okotie? What happens to his church while he is serving as president? Don't you think the calling of a pastor is higher than that of a king?

For me i don't think their is anything wrong with Christians participating in politics. The bible tell me that "the earth is the Lord's and all it's fullness". If the Lord is the "owner" of the whole earth, i want somebody to tell me one reason why the Lord's people should not be in charge of their Father's property. To say otherwise to me is the an abdication of duty. Another point is the fact that the same bible says that "Righteuosness exalts a nation". This is a principle of general application. Why do i say so? Take a look at some Gulf states, u will see that places like Saudi Arabia,UAE and a few others are enjoying some kind of affluence because their leaders though autocratic are employing some "righteuos" in the running of their country even though they are not Christian nations. Take a look at the USA, their model of democracy was coined out of the bible. Infact i read in Benjamin Franklin's autobiography that when they were coining their constitution, he sometimes takes out time to pray for "Godly" inspiration so that they will come out with a document that will stand the test of time. That was more than two hundred fifty years ago. Their constititution has only been modified five times only because of changing time and advanced scintific knowledge explosion.
The current constitution in Nigeria(1999 version) that was crafted by the military was so defective that more than 108 parts of that constitution needed urgent constitutional surgery. It was crafted by self serving military adventurists that has no posterity conscience or any sence of proportion. Where is righteousness in their acts?
If that is so, why cant christians who are the righteousness of God in christ be faulted when they go and participate in politics even if they falter? For Xtians to believe that politics is so dirty that they should not get involved is a "black lie" from the pit of hell. The devil will do anything just to prevent xtians to participate in politics in Nigeria because they will change the status quo.

As for the second part of the question. What i know is that Okotie is a bonafide Nigerian and can run for any office in Nigeria if his educational credentials qualifies him to so do. His church i believe is supporting him in his bid and as such will bear the consequence of his absence when he wins the election. So i think by now they will be working out a strategy that will keep the church together when he occupies Aso Rock.
If Okotie becomes the president, his calling as a pastor according to the bible can not be joepardized because they are exalples in the scripture where a single person was both a king and a priest. David acted it out literally, so did Solomon his son.
Ecclesiastes 1:1 says (Words of the "PREACHER", the son of David, "KING IN JERUSALEM".
The question is "If God allows an old testament saint to handle both offices in those era, what of now when EVERY xtian is now A KING,A PRIEST and A PROPHET in Christ Jesus?"
Aint we supposed to immitate such so far as we are sincere in our pursuit?
Either 1st or 2nd Peter said that "we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,a holy nation, a peculiar people. To SHOW FORTH the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light". Who are we to SHOW these virtues if not the adversary?

In Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba lands, they are traditions that SERIOUSLY violates Gods laws and HIS WORD. THe fact that those LAWS violates HIs laws does not mean that they dont exist or that they are not practiced. If u take a critical look at the constitution of Nigeria, u find out that the moslems that enacted the Sharia laws is backed by the constitution. This is as a result of the distortions in the constitution.
U and i know that they are some isuess in the sharia system that infringes on human rights especially for women. Because those issues have become laws and are entrenched into their system, if u break them because u think God does not support them, u will find out sooner than later that u are on ur own. u,ll pay for. That is what i mean when i said that God respects mans traditions when that tradition have become the norm even though they violtaes His laws. God is not a breaker of human laws. Instead He operates ABOVE those laws because GOD HIMSELF is the TRUE LAW by whom all other laws are weighed, whether u believe it or not. That is what Jesus came to do and has shown us a more higher laws , SPIRITUAL laws that is above other laws.
Did u think that those that wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery was stupid to let that woman leave when Jesus gave them a more superior way of looking at it. They had to bow to the teaching of Jesus because it is a matter that all of them in their heart. If not, that woman deserves to die because it is written that any person caught in adultery shld die, period.
