Andre Uweh: I do understand your views, the bottom line is that those groups are not Hausas nor Fulanis. If the north becomes a sovereign nation, Arewa, Hausa or Fulani as a name will not be suitable. Probably, northern Nigeria will be their best bet. Has anyone wondered why the then Eastern Nigeria did not choose Enyimba or Alaigbo as earlier debated prior to the declaration of Biafra. The Hausa or Fulani should respect other groups in the north who are of different stock from them. We Igbos are more accommodating than the Hausa-Fulani. These Hausa-Fulani consider most of these northern minorities as slaves, in which during the time of the Sokoto Caliphate, these people were slaves to them. They only respect the Kanuri, because they know that the Kanuri can call their brothers from Chad and Cameroon to help them. |

Ileke-IdI: It depends on what time of the day we arrive in Nigeria. We usually like to leave Lagos to Ekiti state on the same day. Which one is safer, Enugu or Lagos? Those policemen in Lagos are beyond SCARY!!!! My last trip had a psychological effect on me, I cried sotey! Neither is safer. Abuja would be much safe, because you would only after to go through Kogi state I believe. I never have problem with the policemen though. They always salute my car. |

Andre Uweh: The Sokoto caliphate never covered the entire northern Nigeria. Bornu, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Plateau and Kogi states never came under Hausa or Fulani rule. The idea of Fulaniland or Hausaland is an insult to natives of those state mentioned as well as non Hausa/Fulani in Niger state, Kaduna state, Kwara state and Nasarawa states. Lets be honest without ourselves, the only people who can say they successfully repelled the Fulani during Uthman dan Fodio's Fulani Jihad are the people of the Kanem-Bornu empire. Sani Abacha's people dealt with the Hausa-Fulani, but the Middle Belt would have been conquered if it wasn't for the British intervening. Futa Hausa. . . That is what the land should be known as. lol |

jason12345: wand why is that?? It is closer to home. Even though my abode is Abia State, I'll rather go through Enugu than Lagos. I can have my driver pick me up from Enugu and be home on the same day if I arrive early. If I arrive at Lagos or Abuja, I would have to stay overnight at some overpriced hotel, then catch a flight in the morning. |

Enugu Airport will become the second busiest airport besides Lagos. The reason why I say this is, because Igbos would rather fly in through Enugu than Lagos. |

Why would the president support something that could limit his power? That sounds counter-productive. Anyone who expected the President to support this is very naive and foolish. Anyone in his position, would not be in support of something that limits his power.

hercules07: Emeagwali is a brilliant man no doubt, he is very intelligent no question, the issue I have is the guy ascribing honours to himself. He did nothing for the internet, he has no peer reviewed articles and people are here celebrating him kai. I do not blame him sha, the society we live in celebrates frauds. What do you mean? Time Magazine has said that he contributed to the development in the internet. This man has won hundreds of awards. It is only Nigerians who are calling him a fraud. The rest of the world considers him a genius. So I am going to go with the world, instead of some jealous Nigerians who do not know any better. |
