In contribution to Oga Emma's explanation, poultry have various diseases that can affect birds or become serious at different stages of their life especially as they age, so it's safer to rear birds that reach maturity faster, which means avoiding some illnesses which can cause mortality and losses.
For instance, someone who keeps broilers or any other breed for 1month is more likely to harvest more birds than keeping them for 3months, so we can say that risk of losses increases with time, sort of.

I have their contract agreements with me .....
Agreement is for a year minimum with clauses...
They can absorb more than 10,000 birds per cycle from a single farmer .....
And more if you have the capacity at maturity ....
Some farmers are actually producing large volume for them...
Just tryin to figure how they make profit...

That price they're buying is not good at all, the only way one can still profit selling at that price is if:
*you hatch your chicks yourself.
*you formulate your feed and farm the majority of your raw materials like maize, soya beans etc.
*you use organic or herbal medication regime.
I believe these factors alone will greatly reduce the cost of production by almost half, which will make selling at that price profitable other than that, I don't see any other way around it.

Hmm, sir I beg to disagree with your figures. At the moment the least that anyone sells is #800/kilo, my location is Kano state. I would advise you source for other buyers. The price even goes up to #900/kilo during festive season (I know of December).

Even around 2008-2010 it wasn't sold that low, it was around 600-650/kilo.

Pls try and understand your associates better otherwise I'll be forced to think that they're about to exploit you.

Drugs stand at 5% of feeds which is N1800...
One dose of Gumb + Lasota gives like N1500..
Transport plus Kerosine gives like N2000
Total Estimated Cost =N=51,300.00

Revenue = 1050*52 =N=54,600 (Mortality of 5%)
Profit = N3,300.00 ....6.4% per batch

Feeds always take over 70% of the total cost of production ...
How can someone reduce feed cost to make broiler production profitable without compromising quality .....

My total expenditure for that batch was approximately 66k...which was a bit high in my own opinion, though I didn't have to buy drugs for my current batch of birds because I have a lot still remaining from the other batch

I sold the birds on dressed weight basis(per kilo) at 850/kilo and I had total weight of 109kg. It was profitable so I won't advice you to compromise on feed otherwise you'll not get the best out of your birds which will definitely affect profitability.

After 1 week, I lost 3 birds , other than that, they are all doing fine

It's most likely Newcastle, but reputable farmers like Turks have recommended the poldine treatment probably because it's effective.... Or you can seek his assistance
