Yes, you are not behind killings, yes the killings didn't start in your administration, all agreed! But what have you done differently to stop such occurrences. The fact that 3 local governments were under attack for 3 whole days and soldiers were not sent to stop the carnage, nor mobile policemen drafted immediately to stop this orgy of violence started shows us that you are not in control of the situation. And thereafter no one has been sacked, no one has been arrested? What then is the essence of government? All we get are excuses and explanations! The buck stops at your table, Mr President. |

Yes I agree that this is the general practice but the difference with the projects our lawmakers insert is that they never impact the constituents eventually. The quality of the projects says it all. Buying motorcycles and keke up and down, which will be distributed to a few people within their party circles and they make a show of it on TV then pocket the rest. In the US you actually see projects that add value to the individual communities where the lawmakers represent. LadyExcellency: |
This is really ridiculous. The man simply asked you to show him one completed constituency project since 1999 and you went off topic. Let's learn to be objective. Did you just arrive the country to know that these so called constituency projects are mere avenues to put money in their pockets? Going by the numbers of lawmakers in both chambers, if truly these constituency projects were applied to better their constituencies since we started practicing democracy, don't you think Nigeria would have been finer than Dubai? ReformedAPC: |
Bros, read the article to understand and remove your prejudice. It's a Nigerian thing to attack the messenger and dump the message!!! The man simply broke down our problem in a clear and concise manner. At the same time advised you and me on what to do. What's so hard about this. Empower yourself and forget about all these divide and rule tactics the elites use to confuse me and you. I wish this piece can be pinned on Nairaland front page for a month! okachie1: |
Would this ever get to front page? The writer is flawless in hi's write up. Would we ever as Nigerians learn from history? |
The tribal warlords will soon arrive ![]() |
Finally Bae has been revealed, if u know u know ![]() |
Waoh!! This is both informative and interesting. Front page material. |
Between Falz video and acts like this, which one of them denigrates Muslims and their religion? I would expect that MURIC should issue fatwa to all that are responsible for this senseless killings, but what do I know!!!! Smh!!! |
Thank you!! Wish I could give you a thousand likes. Guestlander: |
It's good that people are becoming more aware of the kind of structural looting going on in this country. These monies are released to the senators come rain come shine. Also note that this has been going on since we started practicing democracy. Any president that attempts to stop this is usually threatened with impeachment or other means of coercion which these legislators use to have their way. This is why they fight tooth and nail to get in there and can afford to sleep all year round. The billion dollar question is how do we stop this madness? How? |
I like the fact that people like Fela Durotoye and Sowore are plunging into the murky waters of Nigerian politics. But anything worth doing is worth doing well. Winning the presidency will it be enough to make the desired change in Nigeria made up of 36 states? I expect that they should have senators, house of reps, governors, state house of reps candidates as part of their teams. We need people like them in all tiers of government and at all levels of governance. And like the writer correctly said, they need to shed their activist garb very quickly |
Hello, please i have been trying to reach you. Can i have your email or number, i need your help with some business. My email, chizen2002@yahoo.com urvillagepeoplee: |
Hello, this is a great idea,i don't think anything similar exists. I won't mind being a part of it. Thanks vevcommedia: |
Why are you excluding Lagos people? Any reasons |
Ok, going by your statements, did Kachukwu state that any monies were unaccounted for? What I saw was contracts were approved without involving the board which he is the chairman, according to laid down rules. tuniski: |
Just like I said, it has hit the frontpage. Don't be suprised when you see it on major newspaper headlines. In as much as we all are performing our civic rights by demanding accountability from our leaders and criticising them, shouldn't it be done devoid of lies, propaganda and half truths? dustydee: |
Of course there's corruption going on in this administration. Nigerians who find themselves in positions of power only see it as an opportunity to enrich themselves. Asides the title of the thread, take a look at Deji Adeyanju's tweet stating that $26B is missing. The next thing you know, you will see it in blogs and newspaper headlines. It's just a shame, really. TheFreeOne: |
Thank you very much for this thoughtful post. The problem of electoral funding is a major barrier for a lot of people who would have wanted to be part of the process. Though I must say, elections are not cheap in any part of the world, but there are rules that can be made towards streamlining the costs and also what a single individual can contribute to an aspirant in order to checkmate godfatherism. Still a long way to go!!! |
It's quite appalling how seemingly sane people change and twist facts and the gullible ones just toe the same narrative. Agreed GMB administration is not performing as we all expected, but why so much hate to the point of repeating a fallacy? I read the letter from Ibe Kachikwu to PMB and according to the author, contracts of $26 billion were awarded without the approval of the NNPC board, of which he is the chairman, which to me is a question of due process. He never stated any monies were missing. Unless there's another letter Deji Adeyanu is referring to. Na waoh!!! |

Thank you very much for this insight. So many people forget that as a President of Nigeria, you are sworn to an oath to protect the sovereignty of the country, of which you stand to be impeached if you don't. And if you are not impeached, trust me, that's an invitation for a coup ElsonMorali: |
@10mobile, I like the fact that your points are well articulated. But me and you know we are not practising true democracy here in Nigeria. Let's face the truth. The postulations you advocate for will only work in an ideal democracy/society. I already gave you the classes of people who are in Nigeria and it's only the first two classes that dictate to a large extent what happens and what doesn't happen. Forget the Kurds, forget the Catalonians, yes, here in Nigeria if those two classes don't have a buy-in to the referendum idea, it's DOA. The present crop of senators, governors,HOA members who and who elected them? How many people went out to vote? How many people have a voters card? To achieve what we want, we the people need to start taking part in the process, in the system. We need to start demanding for accountability from LG chairmen, our senators, reps and also our Governors. We need to start participating in how we are governed and work towards economic viability first. Lay the groundwork with a singleness of purpose, not through intimidation or hurtful words and insults. I remember the time when in the old Imo state, the people were begging for FG to build an airport there. When it became apparent it wasn't going to happen, the people mobilised funds and built an airport for themselves. Why can't we use that same spirit to get the rest of the east industrialised. Get the eastern governors to attract the required investments. Mobilise people to take part in the electoral process and vote in individuals at all levels who can make things happen. Nobody among the two ruling classes will allow a referendum due to the fact that the outcome might be unfavourable to the unity of the nation. That is the hard truth. Because a referendum is a precursor to the balkanisation of the country. Or you think after having the ibo referendum, the middle belt and the Niger delta will not like to have their own? Or the yorubas will not also want to have theirs? We didn't choose to be together in Nigeria but as it it, it will be a very very difficult task choosing to go our separate ways. I have had the opportunity to live in all parts of this country and I can authoritatively tell you, the same hunger and lack of access to basic things, no jobs, resonated everywhere. The majority of people are pauperized by a few, who get rich and control the wealth of the country for themselves only. So you can see that every part of the country feels marginalised. If only we (the people's class) can come together as one and take back this country from the visionless and corrupt leadership they(the ruling class) keep foisting on us at every electoral cycle, we will unlock the vast potentials we have in this country. Cheers |
I am not affirming to OUK's story, but it's plausible. There are a lot of people who offer such services,it wouldn't take you so much to get a new identity and leave through Gabon,Togo or even Ghana. These things happen on a steady basis. If you have the cash to pay for it you will surely get it. Partnerbiz3: |
Sleeping with a lecturer for grades is not advisable in my own opinion. What if the guy still fails her after sleeping with her? Unless she actually likes the lecturer, then she can take the risk. As an alternative she can read well and pass the exam if she is the serious type or offer him money |
This is just unfortunate, the way our leaders turn glaring truths on its head, Obj was asked about the $16billion budgeted for electricity during his tenure and here he claims the report of the house absolved him, which is completely untrue. I maintain that Obj had the best opportunity to steer this country to prosperity and on to a new course, instead because of his parochial interests his selfishness, he led us into the chaos we have today! So sad |
