We received one of my kids’ visa/passport without the immigration letter enclosed.
I’ve called UKVI and they said I’ll receive a response within 15 working days. Ha! we’re billed to travel before then.
Would there be any issues at the UK border if we arrive there without his own letter? The rest of the family have theirs.
Has anyone entered the UK without presenting this letter to the immigration officials?

I’d appreciate a response to this.

Yes I called back but got the pre-recorded response to go to website for abc and xyz.

Called UKVI, the person who picked said they won’t be able to tell who or why they’re trying to reach me. I guess I’ll just wait.

Just wanted to be sure if anyone had received calls from within Nigeria. And also if the call came without being notified by mail initially.

I guess we’ll just wait and watch. Thanks!

There is nothing unusual about this , they can call you from anywhere and many have received such call.

Good evening, Justwise, Mimi and anyone who has ever received calls regarding their applications :

I missed a call from the British High Commission Abuja, even though we applied in Lagos. No prior emails notifying us of the call. I’m guessing they called because of my dependant’s application as I’ve already received my own visa.

It’s been 2 days after and they haven’t called back.
I’m just wondering it this has ever happened to anyone and are calls usually from here (Lagos/Abuja)?. I thought the calls were from the Decision making offices in UK or Pretoria? Do they call from Nigeria as well?

Pls help clarify if you have answers.

02/Sept/20 Biometric/Interview
19/Sept/20 Deferred Complex Email
28/Sept/20 I called UKVI to enquire about the status of my application and they confirmed that decision hasn't been made yet
07/Oct/20 I called again again and this time they confirmed that decision has been made
08/Oct/20 I got a mail from TLS on that my travel document is ready and has been sent by courier to my given address.
09/Oct/20 I got my passport with my visa on it.

VISA WAS GRANTED ON 02/OCT/2020

I was previously refused US Student Visa (twice) and also Canada Study/Visit Visa (Twice).

I pray everyone hoping to get their visa will receive their good news soon by the special Grace of GOD!

Check your form to ascertain that there's no error on it. If done and you're sure that there's no error, then no problem. You would need to include the same documents types (birth certificate, TB test) that you're including for your 9 year old.

Good evening Mimi, Justwise and co-sojourners

While filling my dependants' form, on the documentation section, it was listed (expectedly) that I'd need to submit passport, bank statement, birth certificate , TB result etc) for my 9 year old. However for the other dependant (5 years old), only the passport and bank statement were stated as required. No birthcertificate, no consent, etc.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Am I doing something wrong? I intend to submit all these documents anyway for the 5 year old but it seems quite strange that it was listed for one dependant and not listed for the other.

Pls help clarify what I may have done wrong while filling the forms.

Cancel and reapply because your kids can't travel with you if you didn't list them on your application as your dependants.

Even though you can use a cover letter to explain this later, it has a very high probability of not working because UKVI places the onus of application information correctness on the applicant and this might be categorized as non-disclosure of material fact (deception / misrepresentation) in the main applicant's application.

he hand of God brought all our visas today, after interview questions like only me they go UK and sleepless nights of tracking and waiting for decision

14th August: Main Applicant application
15th August: Dependants application
19th August: Dependants biometric
26th August: Main applicant biometric
27th August: Main applicant Interview
10th September: Application transferred to VAC
10th September: applicant at doorstep of TLS without receiving collection email , but collection mail latter came
10 September: All visas received.

Good afternoon Mimi, (and anyone else that may have been in this situation).

My TB certificate indicates the number of accompanying dependants (we all tested the same day) but I’m applying alone for now and my application states no one is accompanying me. Is this an issue?

NCAA has recently stated that the airports won't be re-opening on June 21st again. That means the VACs won't be opened anytime soon. Maybe at the earliest, mid July because the VAC employees have to fly in (international flights) which won't happen until domestic flights have commenced. The domestic flights commencement is what our govt has moved forward again till further notice. Na wa!

My dear,don't be in hurry to make any financial commitment to any school for now.Try wait till ending of July,by then all higher education institutions in UK and UK government will be in a better position to decide how everything will work. pls don't rush .thanks

IOM offices are opened now, so hopefully the other Visa-related offices will also start working soon.
