It is time to seek the Lord the days of your ignorance and foolishnees God has overlooked but now he commands all men everywhere to repent from their sins and to come to Him through faith in the Lord jesus Christ. God loves you so much that He gave His son to die for your sins, thus making provision for your soul in enternity. Now is the time to amend your ways. Tomorrow may be too late. It is a hopless enternity withou Jesus Christ. Repent today so that you could be saved in enternity. You Must Born Again. (John 3:3) The clock is ticking fast and time is running out. Do not push aside what you can do today and now. Heaven and Hell are waiting for your response now. Why not agree with Heaven by receiving Jesus Christ now as your personal Lord and Master while you disappoint Hell by rejecting to live in sin Heb 9:27-28: "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart for sin, for salvation." |

Good day listeners. The time is 11am. Welcome to the world news."That was the voice of radio anncouncer of the popular radio station in town. Lizzy was still in bed. She pulled on the sheets to cover her ears so she can coutiue with her unending sleep. Just at that moment, children from a school in the neighbourhood started singing their rhymes. Their voices rang as each tried to outdo the other. "Tick says the clock, tick tick. What you have to do , do quick... Tick says the clock, tick tick. What you have to do quick. "Then she knew that the time is up. She couldn't take it any longer. It was quite obvious that she couldn't keep staying in the bed. This is the time for you to seek the Lord God and to reconcile with your maker. The Word of God says: "Behold, now is the accepted time; Behold, now is the day of salvation. "(2Corinthians 6:2). Time wait for no man. What you have to do, do quick. The Bible says that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-. |

Nairaland / General / President Goodluck Jonathan Asked To Sack Alison-madueke, Okonjo-iweala by fadamekus(m): 12:15am On Nov 04, 2012 |
President Goodluck Jonathan Asked To Sack Alison-Madueke, Okonjo-Iweala Some civil society organisations on Wednesday in Abuja called on President Goodluck Jonathan to sack the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and her counterpart in Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, based on the Report of the Nuhu Ribadu-led Petroleum Revenue Task Force, which alleged corruption in the oil and gas industry. The groups also urged the President to sack the boards and management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Pipelines and Products Marketing Company of Nigeria, Department of Petroleum Resources and the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency to give way for the total clean-up of the country’s oil and gas industry. The Convener of United Action for Democracy, Mr. Jaye Gaskia, and Executive Director of African Network for Environmental and Economic Justice, Mr. David Ugolor, at a press briefing, also threatened to mobilise Nigerians to stage a mass protest in the city of Abuja should the President fails to heed to their demands. Having added up the $29bn theft in the country’s oil and gas sector, price fixing, contract scams, an additional $6bn lost annually and 250,000 barrels of crude lost daily for the past 10 years, according to the Ribadu report, they noted that what Nigeria lost was equal to the total budget for four years in the past 10 years. They said, “We had gone on to make some key demands including: sacking of the boards and management of the institutions of government implicated in the mind boggling monumental fraud in the management of the fuel subsidy regime for 2011 a fraud which as at the time of the various probes, amounted to over N1.7trn, and just about 45 per cent of the 2011 federal budget. We had been clear about the fact that the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and its minister, as well as the NNPC, DPR, PPMC, PPPRA, bore direct and greatest responsibility in the monumental fraud.” “We had also stated clearly that given that manifestation of the complete lack of coordination in the economy and among relevant agencies and institutions with respect to the management of the subsidy fund, combined with the fact that monies were signed and paid out from the federation account without the knowledge or authorisation of the minister of finance, who is also the coordinating minister of the economy, that her office bore indirect responsibility for the fraud and barefaced looting of the economy. “We thus demand the sacking of all officials so implicated, and the trial of those with cases to answer. Additionally we had demanded that all subsidy thieves and those who aided and abetted them should be speedily brought to trial and looted funds recovered.” http://www.nigeriadailynews.com/politics/50150-president-goodluck-jonathan-asked-to-sack-alison-madueke-okonjo-iweala.html |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / REFEREES THREATEN TO BOYCOTT CHELSEA OVER CLATTENBURG CLAIM by fadamekus(m): 11:58pm On Nov 03, 2012 |
A number of Premier League referees are contemplating boycotting Chelsea games in the wake of the allegations made against Mark Clattenburg, according to former official Clive Wilkes. Police and the Football Association have launched formal investigations into the European champions' allegations Clattenburg used "inappropriate language" towards Mikel, something it is understood the official strenuously denies. Leading figures such as Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson have had their say, backing 37-year- old Clattenburg. And ex-Premier League referee Wilkes says the feelings of some of his former colleagues are so strong that they have started to discuss refusing to take charge of Chelsea's games. He told The Sun: "I keep in touch with a lot of the lads and there is such a strength of feeling about what is happening to Mark. "I know a few referees who are even talking about boycotting Chelsea games because of all this. "Remember, it's not the first time Chelsea have targeted a referee - there's been Anders Frisk and Graham Poll. And some refs are now saying enough is enough. It's no exaggeration to say the refs in this country have never felt lower. "They are so disillusioned. They feel vulnerable, feel that they are being left isolated - that they are getting no backing, no support. They want to speak out themselves but are too frightened, they fear they will be sacked if they go public with their grievances. "There have even been murmurings about strike action but that's very much the last resort. They'd much prefer to get around the table with the FA, PFA, the clubs and players to sort this out as quickly as possible." http://sportingpreview.com/football2012-2/2012581.php |
Crime / Mother Smothers Her Baby "Possessed By The Devil" To Death With Qur’an by fadamekus(m): 11:46pm On Nov 03, 2012 |
A 28-year-old mother who smothered her baby to death with a copy of the Koran told police she was trying to save him from being possessed by the devil, a court has heard. The five-month-old boy, who weighed just nine kilograms, was found with 39 wounds on his body at his home in Halmstad, Sweden, in July this year. Most of his injuries were caused by being crushed and battered by the Muslim holy book, prosecutors said. ‘The woman intentionally killed her child. She smothered it to death and the Koran was the murder weapon,’ prosecutor Anders Johansson told the court. The 28-year-old mother, who admits the charges, claimed she had suffered weeks of hallucinations and visions where devil’s horns were growing from her son’s head. ‘I saw horns growing out of the baby’s forehead and long vines on his body. I saw an old man’s head on his body. I wanted to save my baby, not kill him,’ she told the court. Defence lawyer Goran Ruthberg added: ‘My client was in a psychotic state. She had no intention to kill and considering how she was feeling, she had no way of predicting what might happen.’ The woman’s husband, who cried as he listened to the prosecution’s description of the horrific attack, has forgiven her, according to Expressen.se. ‘She was a good mother and a good wife. It is a horrible thing, but it was an accident,’ he said. The couple, who are Muslims, reportedly met on the internet and married after a week. The father said his wife was overjoyed at the birth of their child but her mental health soon deteriorated. A medical examination found that the mother killed her child under the influence of a serious mental disorder. She cannot be sentenced to prison if she is convicted of murder, according to the newspaper. The case continues. http://www.nigeriadailynews.com/news/50565-mother-smothers-her-baby-%26quot%3Bpossessed-by-the-devil%26quot%3B-to-death-with-qur’an.html |

Educational Services / Stella Damasus To Teach Young Girls How To Resist Men by fadamekus(m): 3:12pm On Nov 03, 2012 |
Stella Damasus to teach young girls how to resist men Stella Damasus-Aboderin, ADIVA Stella Damasus is a household name in the African entertainment industry but beyond that, she is an accomplished teacher, singer, philanthropist, woman rights activist, mother and an intense lover of God and is on a new path to mentor and help young girls unlock their potential and stay off men with a program called ADIVA. Having worked with several organizations around the world in the fight against domestic violence, child enslavement, prostitution and campaign for female empowerment, Stella Damasus has seen the need to re-orientate and mentor young women. Having gone through personal struggles herself and still attained the height of international stardom, her mission is to make sure the average young woman can attain her full potential. With the new REALTALK program of ADIVA, she intends to teach young ladies the need to run from every temptation of running after men and money, the dangers of pre-marital sex and how to value their bodies as the temple of God. These are issues that some parents are too afraid to discuss with their daughters. The initial phase is a pilot program she hopefully plans to role out in different cities across the Africa, UK, and America. http://www.nigeriadailynews.com/entertainment/45774-stella-damasus-to-teach-young-girls-how-to-resist-men.html |
Nairaland / General / Fuel Scarcity, Civil Servants Abondon Duty by fadamekus(m): 2:52pm On Nov 03, 2012 |
Fuel scarcity, Civil Servants Abandon Duties Many civil servants in Jos abandoned their duty posts on Wednesday in search of petrol as acute scarcity of the product persists in the town and environs. Correspondents of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who monitored the situation, reported that there were long queues at the few stations selling the product. Mr Samuel Thomas, a federal civil servant on queue at an NNPC mega station, said that he left home as early as 4.00 am, but was yet to be served at around 12.00 pm. “I have not gone to work and I am not sure I will go today because I don’t know when to get the product and the fuel that is left in my car is not enough to take me to the office,’’ he said. Thomas called on the Federal Government to ensure availability of the product to consumers, adding that its scarcity was causing hardships to individuals and retarding the economy. Mrs Salamtu Gowon, another civil servant waiting to be served, decried the situation which had lasted three weeks, describing it as very pathetic. “With this kind of situation, it is very difficult for the country to experience any meaningful development, be it economic, social or political,’’ she said. Gowon called on government to monitor those responsible for distributing the product to ensure it got to final consumers. Mr John Danboyi, a stranded commuter who said he had spent hours waiting for a taxi to convey him to work, said the situation had adversely affected business activities in Jos and environs. “Prices of products in the market have drastically increased as motorists have also increased their charges,’’ he said. Mr Maikasuwa Dogo, a bus driver, told NAN that the increase in transport fares was due to higher prices of petrol. “Again we spent longer times at stations to get the product, thereby shortening our operating hours,’’ he added. NAN reports that many commuters were stranded because there were very few commuter vehicles plying the hitherto very busy roads. It was observed that apart from the NNPC mega station that was selling the product at government approved price, other stations were selling at between N130 and N140 per litre. http://www.nigeriadailynews.com/general/50116-jos-civil-servants-abandon-duties-in-search-of-fuel.html |
