[quote author=Rhitar19 post=104820858]@ Rhitar19: I am not sure about how allocation of placement work at the University of Kent. However, in most cases, placements are allocated based on individual circumstance. I suggest take your time to get a good grasp of UK issues before driving. Congratulations to you, @fatima04. This is indeed good news!!! fatima04: |
As suggested by @claremont, you may consider applying for postdoc research positions and I think you may consider applying for positions in the FE sector as well. I understand that there is so much competition and uncertainties in the HE job market. In all, it is best to apply as much as you can. [quote author=jamela post=85133677]Hi everyone, I am currently on my Doctorate Extension Scheme visa after completion of my PhD. The following is a summary of my situation. Summary: Point 1: I'm currently enroute a comfortable 6 years in UK continuous residence and hope to make the 10 year ILR. Point 2: I have spent 5 of this 6 continuous years studying without breaks. the 6th current year is on a Doctoral extension scheme (1 year visa) expiring next year. Point 3: I now need to earn 4 years more to qualify for the 10 year ILR. |
In April 2019, TLS was migrating from their old system to the new system, which is currently in use. I guess this was responsible for the change during this period. It is good to hear that walkin appointment is back now. Floraoye0417: |
This thread provides vital information needed for migration to the UK. I salute our seniors (@Dustydee, @Justwuise, @fatima, @dupyshoo, @lexusgs430, @UKmigrant and others) for keeping the thread alive. The information that we got from here eased the whole process (visa application process, house search and bank account opening, among other) for us. Just to add my experience with visa submission process (Submitted application: April, 2019), TLS has revised the concept of "walk-in submission". Walk-in applicants can only submit at anytime on the selected date for the walk-in appointment. |
