Bronzedigger:Age is not a factor if you are able and willing. I know a guy that was recruited at ages 60 when I started. We did our trainings together. Provided you can pass the assessments and interview, the jobs is yours. Only in Nigeria them go use age take limit your potentials 5 Likes |

Kayla2021:I would not worry about that at all. As long as you have not submitted any fake document, then you are good. For me, UK visa is about the easiest to get and inconsequential details like that should not affect you except if you have other things going on. |

Bronzedigger:What dupyshoo was saying is that she got her job before she finished her masters and she was giving you the tip on how to go about it. She didn't have to start the job until after the completion of her masters. That's the way it works most of the time. Before the introduction of PSW, most students complain they only have 4 months after their studies to look for sponsorship and it's inadequate, that is wrong. The UK gives you about 16 months to look for job. Your graduate job search starts in September when you resume and hopefully by January of February after your first semester exams, you would have gotten a job offer to start in September of that year. That leaves you to then concentrate on your studies (2nd semester and project). Most big companies advertise their graduate positions for the following year September start between September and December the year before. If you leave it late, the chances are that most of the positions will be filled already and the remaining ones may be companies that are reluctant to sponsor. I also got my Engineering role before I finished my masters and I know several others in my school too who got jobs aafter our first semester. Just make sure you utilise your schools' career services and open your eyes. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

1. I did not start the job until after my MSc. So the way it works is this: grad jobs will be advertised from September to Janauary but you won't have to start the job until the next September. 2. It was full time. Like I said above you will have the job offer but you will start after your MSc. 4. Age does not really matter. Even over 50s get jobs. Coming in January means that it might take you longer to get a job as most grad jobs would have closed by then. There will be some few ones still open though. Regarding competency questions, you will need to take time to think about your past experiences where you have demonstrated different soft skills and then document them. That will help you whenever you are doing applications and telephone interviews. Bronzedigger: 4 Likes |

dustydee:Can you help and mention the ones that don't require coding and could be done with 3 months training? I have tried programming and got to know that I don't have flair for it. Also studied data science under Microsoft (Beginner level) but got no practical experience yet. |

Bronzedigger: I will suggest you explore a Masters in your field of engineering with a form of specialization, rather than switching your career totally. It is easier to build on your current knowledge than starting another career entirely, Engineering jobs are also in high demand in UK, though not as much as Nursing and other medical jobs. 1 Like |

Hello, We are a family of 3 planning to relocate to the UK via the study route. My husband will pursue a masters degree while I work to support the family. I have a bsc and Msc in Accounting but I don't have relevant work experience cos I'm self-employed ( real estate agent , shoe vendor etc). Please I need 1.suggestions on short courses I can do in Nigeria to boost my chances of getting a job( in the accounting field) in UK 2. I want to know what other jobs I can be eligible for in the UK outside the accounting field Thanks |

Only family members that trust you can help as it means if you don't pay, the guarantor would have to pay. It's a very risky thing to do. It might be easier for you to request to pay more months of rent. Brimmie: 1 Like |

Brimmie: As the previous poster said, only close friends or family who trust you implicitly will stand guarantor for you. Offer to pay additional months' rent upfront. 3 Likes |

Brimmie: If you are on a tier 2 visa, you can use your manager at work, but for tier 4, you can use anyone you know in the UK who is willing to vouch for you even if he does not live in your county. Just know that whoever you fill in will be contacted via call or mail during reference check before you get the house 1 Like |

tushqueen: Are you sure a manager would be happy to be a guarantor?.... Don't mistake 'guarantor' for ' referencing'....... Huge difference, very large.......... Look at it this way, the guarantor is simply a joint tenant, with huge financial responsibilities...... The guarantor would be credit checked (so must have snow white credit history)...... If tenant defaults on rents or damages to property, the guarantor becomes liable for all....... If guarantor no pay, he/she gets all court charges, ballifs, court recovery, CCJ, vehicle seizure, charge on his/her property etc etc etc ........ The guarantor must have big heart...... Very big heart....... 6 Likes |

Framework12:Personally I believe you should choose based on your interest and the course content but sometimes there are other considerations that people make including fees. Go through it and see which one appeals to you most. You do not need a masters degree to become a business analyst. An MSc in information systems can open several doors if applied. 1 Like |
