Demba Ba signs for Chelsea Friday January 04 2013 I’m devastated by rumours of Lampard’s departure, says John Terry Demba Ba insisted it was an easy decision to sign for the Champions League winners after his move to Chelsea was confirmed by the club today. Also in Soccer The Senegal striker has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after his move from Newcastle for an undisclosed fee. The London club had triggered a £7m release clause in his Magpies contract. Coming home ‘feels weird’, says happy Hammer Joe Cole Assou-Ekotto back for Spurs after four-month layoff Ba, 27, who will be eligible for selection for tomorrow's FA Cup third-round match at Southampton, will wear the number 29 shirt. Arbeloa hopes Christmas downtime gives Real Madrid chance to fix league wobbles He told Chelsea's official website: "It feels good to be here, I'm very happy and very proud. Newcastle sign French international Mathieu Debuchy "When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that's something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one. Arsene Wenger tells Arsenal fans they should not expect a Lionel Messi to arrive in transfer window "It was important for me, and for Newcastle, to get my future sorted and now we can move on. Now they have the whole month to buy someone and for me as well, the sooner the better. Now I am here I just need to get settled in." Soccer Home Ba is joint-third in the Premier League scorers table this season with 13 goals so far. The transfer puts the seal on a stunning rise from the lower reaches of French football to the European champions. Born in the suburbs of Paris, Ba played for Port Autonome du Havre, Montrouge and third division side Rouen before moving to Mouscron, in the Belgian top flight. He then moved to Hoffenheim, helping them win promotion to the Bundesliga, and was signed by West Ham two years ago. Newcastle swooped after the Hammers were relegated that season and Ba played a pivotal role as the Magpies finished fifth in the top flight last season. Chelsea will not lose his services for the African Nations Cup later this month as Senegal have not qualified. |

Instead of improving our Univeristies of Agriculture to enable them carry out plant research that would enable them create stronger strains of fruits that can survive in Nigeria, we are stopping the importation of refined sugar..@ Okija Juju why are you and your likes always in a hurry to make quick negative assertions anytime the Federal Govt comes up with a good program..The ban on importation of sugar is simply to encourage local production ...For your information a 750k metric tons capacity sugar company has just been completed by Flour Mills of Nigeria ...The sugar company is titled Golden Sugar Comapny , they have over 40,000 hectares of land in Niger state and other parts of North already filled wth Sugar cane...Several other Sugar cane integrated farms re also encouraged with loans to facilitate these projects..Dangote sugar owns lots of hectares of sugar cane farms ...Multiple jobs will be provided by these schemes , Foriegn exchange reduced Please and please Nairalanders if you don't have any meaningful contribution to make , quietly view and walk pass than showing off yourself ..You must not respond to every topic...A lot of us come here to learn... |

Ohakim replies Rochas: ‘I left N13.5bn for completion of Oguta Wonder Lake project’ Former governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedim Ohakim has said out of the N18billion bond obtained from the capital market and tied to the construction of the Oguta Wonderlake Resort, N13.5billion was left behind by his administration for the completion of the project. In the wake of the highly publicised plans by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to probe Ohakim, more disturbing revelations are finding their way to public domain. Apparently unmoved, the former governor of the state made the disclosure yesterday during the public presentation of the book, “Democracy by military tanks” written by Dr. Ethelbert Okere. He tasked Governor Rochas Okorocha on transparency and integrity. Ohakim stated that out of the N18billion bond obtained from the capital market and tied to the construction of the Oguta Wonderlake Resort, N13.5billion was left behind by his administration for the completion of the project. Said he: “Last week when I paid a visit to the site of the Oguta Wonderlake Resort, I was shocked to find the place overgrown by weeds and the N13.5billion no where to be found.” He informed the audience that a similar project was started by Governor Godswill Akpabio’s predecessor, yet Akpabio completed it and the same facility had given work to over 3000 natives of the state. “Landmark projects and initiatives must not be allowed to suffer on the altar of primitive politics.” The book presentation was well attended by political bigwigs, royal fathers and women groups in the state. omicron: It's misleading to draw a direct relationship between sugar content of beverages and their propensities to cause harm. Sugar is not the problem....if sugar was to be the cause of diabetes or anything then such diseases as diabetes would have been more of a disease of the young than the old. Beer causes harm through several alcohol-mediated pathways such as producing free radicals that ultimately results in inflammation(swelling) and necrosis(death) of liver cells, and causes ateries to thicken which increases the risk of hypertension and strokes. So it doesn't follow that the higher the sugar content, the more harmful it becomes. You are just out condemn Alcohol ..My dear both are good to the system if taken moderately..Soft drinks re packed with fructose, sucrose when in excess directly affects the kidney..while Alcohol when taken in excess over taxes the liver The word here is moderation..Alcohol is packed full of calories so its energy giving qualities re good |
he deserves every bit of what is happening to him....When you sow greed, deceit, dishonesty you will always reap bad.he and his cohorts plunged Nigeria into a deep mess all in the name of subsidy..Wish all these dishonest rich business men will go under |
Everything is wrong if a woman proposes to a Man..its normal if a lady gives the green light for the guy to wrap it up..what is worth doing is worth doig right and well ..Leave Americans and Europeans out of it ..We are Africans and we ve our culture and way of doing things ..How many of our borrowed practices ve done us so much good , rather it ends up corrupting our originality.. Its is the sole duty of the Man to propose and not vice versa.. What re you even proposing ...You can as well go ahead and pay the dowry of Man because its 21st century . The world is confused today cox of the insatiable quest of the woman to matchup wth the man Play your role as the lady and leave the rest for the Man I will take any lady that proposes to me as an unserious person who doesn't know what her role as a woman is .. @Mrs Chima for the first time , am not inmpresses with ur opinion Ladies don't be desperate ...He will propose please |

We are yet to see them .Lets be objective and clear , Governor Rochas Okorocha has just performed below average .No significant blue print of a strong economic trust in his Government, We are all watching him and hoping he does something .As they will always say 100DAYS cant judge a leader in Africa.
