European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Chelsea Signs Demba Ba by fagin1982(op): 4:52pm On Jan 04, 2013
Demba Ba signs for Chelsea

Friday January 04 2013

I’m devastated by rumours of Lampard’s departure, says John Terry

Demba Ba insisted it was an easy decision to sign for the Champions League winners after his move to Chelsea was confirmed by the club today.

Also in Soccer

The Senegal striker has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after his move from Newcastle for an undisclosed fee. The London club had triggered a £7m release clause in his Magpies contract.

Ba, 27, who will be eligible for selection for tomorrow's FA Cup third-round match at Southampton, will wear the number 29 shirt.

Arbeloa hopes Christmas downtime gives Real Madrid chance to fix league wobbles

He told Chelsea's official website: "It feels good to be here, I'm very happy and very proud.

Newcastle sign French international Mathieu Debuchy

"When the club who won the Champions League wants you, the decision is very easy. This club is massive and that's something that helped the decision a lot. It was not a hard one.

Arsene Wenger tells Arsenal fans they should not expect a Lionel Messi to arrive in transfer window

"It was important for me, and for Newcastle, to get my future sorted and now we can move on. Now they have the whole month to buy someone and for me as well, the sooner the better. Now I am here I just need to get settled in."

Soccer Home

Ba is joint-third in the Premier League scorers table this season with 13 goals so far.

The transfer puts the seal on a stunning rise from the lower reaches of French football to the European champions.

Born in the suburbs of Paris, Ba played for Port Autonome du Havre, Montrouge and third division side Rouen before moving to Mouscron, in the Belgian top flight.

He then moved to Hoffenheim, helping them win promotion to the Bundesliga, and was signed by West Ham two years ago.

Newcastle swooped after the Hammers were relegated that season and Ba played a pivotal role as the Magpies finished fifth in the top flight last season.

Chelsea will not lose his services for the African Nations Cup later this month as Senegal have not qualified.

By d way, are u aware of d USA cop backd by d US EXIM bank that is investing billions of dollars in d entire Sugar value chain in parts of d north?
@ Taharqa ..Bless you Bro ..Yes I am aware of the US EXIM funds ..These are steps in the right direction to actually place the Nigeria Economy to whr its meant to be..

Aside South Africa Nigeria is the biggest consumer of sugar in Africa.yet we help other countries grow by Importing from them...Dangote Sugar Refinery is the largest in Africa and 2nd in the world yet not to show for it all because we neglected our Agricultural Sector..

This great move I hope it extends fully to rice ,fertilizer and the rest...Millions of Jobs will created ..a lot of the youths will get off the streets..Crime rate will decrease and so many positives attached ..

Okija_juju: Abeg drex go far jor!! If you no get respect for elder, respect Juju.. angry

Who are the top sugar producers in Nigeria?!

All I said was, BAN THE IMPORTATION TOTALLY!! not this half assed measure.. As long as foreign sugar which is chaeper (wether package or raw) still crosses our boarders, then local production will continue to suffer.

Ban it outright, fund university researchs to invent genetically altered sugarcanes that are impervious to diseases, sweeter and grow fast, e.t.c.. Lets struggle for a while, but things will settle eventually. But this half and half will not work..

My dear u are just bereaved of latest happenings in the Industry..I advice you just google or source for information...Google Konja Integrated Farms in Niger State ..Stanbic , Zenith re funding several sugar farms of high breed..Several Sugar cane farms of such...This sugar cane project started with Yaradua Govt...its taking full shape now ...Funds have been made available to Institute of Tropical Agriculture ABU for research on higher improved varieties of Sugar cane .GM species have already been palnted and harvested ..Golden Sugar just did the first test run of the Sugar Plant , Dangote is already waxing stronger , Bachita BUA and several Sugar plants re gona benefit from it ...They spend heavily on foreign exchange ...Its a landmark project for Nigeria as a whole ...Over 1million NiGerians wld benefit from it ..Here you re criticizing....why not set up a farm and apply for loan ...
Well keep talk is free ...so go ahead

Okija_juju: So instead of encouraging Nigerians to go into Sugarcane farming.. Instead of improving our Univeristies of Agriculture to enable them carry out plant research that would enable them create stronger strains of fruits that can survive in Nigeria, we are stopping the importation of refined sugar..

Whats the difference biko?! Its like you stopped the importation of Orange Juice, yet we import Oranges.. lol. How stupid!
@ Okija Juju why are you and your likes always in a hurry to make quick negative assertions anytime the Federal Govt comes up with a good program..The ban on importation of sugar is simply to encourage local production ...For your information a 750k metric tons capacity sugar company has just been completed by Flour Mills of Nigeria ...The sugar company is titled Golden Sugar Comapny , they have over 40,000 hectares of land in Niger state and other parts of North already filled wth Sugar cane...Several other Sugar cane integrated farms re also encouraged with loans to facilitate these projects..Dangote sugar owns lots of hectares of sugar cane farms ...Multiple jobs will be provided by these schemes , Foriegn exchange reduced

Please and please Nairalanders if you don't have any meaningful contribution to make , quietly view and walk pass than showing off yourself ..You must not respond to every topic...A lot of us come here to learn...

Ohakim replies Rochas: ‘I left N13.5bn for completion of Oguta Wonder Lake project’

Former governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedim Ohakim has said out of the N18billion bond obtained from the capital market and tied to the construction of the Oguta Wonderlake Resort, N13.5billion was left behind by his administration for the completion of the project.

In the wake of the highly publicised plans by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to probe Ohakim, more disturbing revelations are finding their way to public domain. Apparently unmoved, the former governor of the state made the disclosure yesterday during the public presentation of the book, “Democracy by military tanks” written by Dr. Ethelbert Okere.

He tasked Governor Rochas Okorocha on transparency and integrity. Ohakim stated that out of the N18billion bond obtained from the capital market and tied to the construction of the Oguta Wonderlake Resort, N13.5billion was left behind by his administration for the completion of the project. Said he: “Last week when I paid a visit to the site of the Oguta Wonderlake Resort, I was shocked to find the place overgrown by weeds and the N13.5billion no where to be found.”

He informed the audience that a similar project was started by Governor Godswill Akpabio’s predecessor, yet Akpabio completed it and the same facility had given work to over 3000 natives of the state. “Landmark projects and initiatives must not be allowed to suffer on the altar of primitive politics.” The book presentation was well attended by political bigwigs, royal fathers and women groups in the state. FoodRe: BEER OR SOFTDRINKS: Which Is More Harmful To One's Health? by fagin1982(m): 9:48am On Nov 21, 2012
omicron: It's misleading to draw a direct relationship between sugar content of beverages and their propensities to cause harm. Sugar is not the problem....if sugar was to be the cause of diabetes or anything then such diseases as diabetes would have been more of a disease of the young than the old. Beer causes harm through several alcohol-mediated pathways such as producing free radicals that ultimately results in inflammation(swelling) and necrosis(death) of liver cells, and causes ateries to thicken which increases the risk of hypertension and strokes. So it doesn't follow that the higher the sugar content, the more harmful it becomes.
You are just out condemn Alcohol ..My dear both are good to the system if taken moderately..Soft drinks re packed with fructose, sucrose when in excess directly affects the kidney..while Alcohol when taken in excess over taxes the liver

The word here is moderation..Alcohol is packed full of calories so its energy giving qualities re good

RomanceRe: Would You Marry A Lady That Propose Marriage to you ? by fagin1982(m): 4:18pm On Oct 29, 2012
Everything is wrong if a woman proposes to a Man..its normal if a lady gives the green light for the guy to wrap it up..what is worth doing is worth doig right and well ..Leave Americans and Europeans out of it ..We are Africans and we ve our culture and way of doing things ..How many of our borrowed practices ve done us so much good , rather it ends up corrupting our originality..

Its is the sole duty of the Man to propose and not vice versa..

What re you even proposing ...You can as well go ahead and pay the dowry of Man because its 21st century .
The world is confused today cox of the insatiable quest of the woman to matchup wth the man
Play your role as the lady and leave the rest for the Man

I will take any lady that proposes to me as an unserious person who doesn't know what her role as a woman is ..

@Mrs Chima for the first time , am not inmpresses with ur opinion

Ladies don't be desperate ...He will propose please

PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram Attacks Arik Aircraft In Maiduguri by fagin1982(m): 5:54pm On Oct 23, 2012
Femzy24: The wave of terror attacks in Nigeria on Tuesday took a new turn as a suicide bomber attempted to blow up an Arik Air plane flying from Maiduguri to Abuja.

A suspected member of the Boko Haram sect who had boarded in Maiduguri, Borno State got up midair and told all the passengers to say their last prayers. As he brought out the explosive device, he disclosed that his main targets were the white people in the aircraft.

The explosive device however failed to detonate before the plane landed in Abuja. Police bomb experts moved in and the terrorist was arrested when the plane touched down in Abuja.

The attempt on the airline has shown the dynamism of the dreaded Islamist sect. Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force had earlier hinted that the sect has plans to launch attacks on Sallah day.

Christianity EtcRe: Who Was The Disciple Whom Jesus Loved? by fagin1982(m): 4:20am On Oct 07, 2012
991: Mary Magdalene was one of Jesus' close companions. Jesus also cared especially for her by, for instance in one occasion, driving out 7 demons from her Luke 8:2.
Anyway, according to widely accepted early Christians' doctrines, Jesus kissed Mary Magdalene. He apparently had strong feelings toward her.
"Interest in Mary Magdalene grew following the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Gnostic Gospels in 1945. The Gospel of Philip explicitly said Jesus kissed Mary Magdalene in the mouth, making the disciples jealous of her. Other gospels in the Nag Hammadi texts also spoke of the intimate relationship between her and Jesus, even referring to her as his "beloved." her importance was shown by her presence in major events of Jesus' life. She anointed his feet with a costly perfume, an act the disciples tried to stop but which Jesus allowed. Luke chapter 8, tells us that Mary was one of Jesus' followers and traveled with him.
Have you heard about the:
the gospel of philip
the gospel of mary magdaline
the gospel of thomas
the acts of peter, etc
None of these gospels was included in the Bible because the content didn't conform to Christian doctrine, and they're referred to as apocryphal. One of the documents discovered at Nag Hammadi in southern egypt is the Gospel of Philip, in which Mary Magdalene is a key figure. It has been the cause of one of the most controversial claims ever made about her.
@991 ---I pity you ...That's all..May God have mercy on you
