Suspected All Progressives Congress, APC, leaders in Esan West Local Government Area, LGA, were on Saturday caught throwing money at some group of voters, mostly women.

Voters at polling units 9, 10, 11, in Ward 4, Esan West electorate were seen fighting over the cash.

Reports had it that the money was brought in by party leaders as a way of swaying the voters to vote for the party.

However, their aim of buying votes at the units was unsuccessful.

Nigerian government is planning to borrow another $3billion from China to fund infrastructural projects.

The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, revealed this at a time when there are controversies trailing the Federal Government’s planned securement of $500million loan from China.

Amaechi, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, said the country might lose a chance of taking another $3billion loan

He said the Nigerian government planned to use the loan in executing the rail from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri.

The transport minister said:

THE REASON WHY I SAID THAT IS BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY APPLIED FOR $5.3BILLION TO EXECUTE THE RAIL FROM IBADAN TO KANO.

He added that the lawmakers approved the loans that have generated many controversies.

A massive explosion in the Lebanese capital of Beirut has killed at least 10 people, left hundreds of casualties.

The blast ripped through much of the city including the home of the former prime minister, Saad Hariri.

Though the Future Movement Party confirmed that ex-PM is safe.

However, the country’s health minister said the blasts had caused a ‘very high number of injuries’ and huge damage.
