abuhaneefah29: Happy to hear your mums VISA was approved. So did you actually use - £1 for how much she planned to spend towards the trip ?
Secondly where they asked why sponsor is helping to pay for your visit, what did you fill in ? Sorry I’ve been offline for a while now. Just seeing your messages. I didn’t use £1 for my mum. I used “1,500,000” as money she planned towards her trip, even though I was the one fully sponsoring her. Because I had already sent her “500,000” and described it on her bank statement as “part-payment for her flight ticket”. For your second question, I used £4000 there as what I’ll be sponsoring her with. |

giselle237: my own opinion is put 1 naira/1 gbp. Let your invitation letter expressly state that you are sponsoring the trip fully. My mum finally picked up her passport today and she was given the 6months visit visa. Thank you so much for your help. |

But she will go on Tuesday to pick it up hopefully since there is public holiday in Nigeria tomorrow. I didnt get any rejection email so hopefully her visa was successful. Thanks for your response |

Bmuhd4smile: Congratulations 👏🎉.
What are the documents you submitted for the Canada visit visa application. Sorry for replying late, I didn't see your message on time. I was still a student in the uk by the time i applied so i used the following: 1. Student ID card 2. Letter from school confirming I am a student 3. 4 months bank statement (I had about £6000 in it as the closing balance) 4. Hotel Reservation 5. Flight ticket booking (i paid an agent 10k to help me with this booking) 6. My travel itinerary (Typed a word document to show places i wanted visiting within the days i will spend in canada) 7. International passport 8. My Travel history (only travelled to germany at that time). The application took 7months before it came out last month. |

Soraco57: Thanks for the input, please am still single, does marital status has to do with US visa? thanks This is a tricky question but all i can say is that they just want ties to show that you will come back, So whether single or married, make sure you have enough ties to prove that you will go and come back. My single friends applied from the uk for US visa, one was given while the other was rejected. So package your application well and have ties to show sha. |

Soraco57: please having gotten UK visa , using and coming back, visiting oTHER european country, including ireland, though US don kick me 2 times in 2017 now that am not in Nigeria, wanna try the US again or canada, any hope from US or canada? does travel history really count when it comes to cANADA OR US. thanks Depends on on your application to me. I had a previous US rejection before moving to the UK two years ago. I applied for US in September last year from the UK and went for biometrics in March 2023 and got the US visa. I also applied for canadian visa in october last year from the uk and my canadian visa came out this month. So i got both the US and CAnada visa from the uk. The only travel history i had when applying for both countries was that i travelled to germany june last year. |

Kmaikel: A silent reader. I found this thread very useful when I needed info and also decide to give back to this thread.
6 months visit visa approved - first timer Bio: May 12 Ikeja (standard) Paid call: May 22 - Decision made and no rejection email received. Collection mail: May 24.
The visa is for my mother inlaw, less than 50 years, a petty trader with no registered business with CAC.
Application documents *Her passport *6 weeks bank statement of about 30 pages (petty trading and church anniversary ankara contribution...lol) with no letter of explanation of transactions and balance of not less than N2M *2ce traveled to Dubai *US visit visa refusal declared *N100K declared as travel expense *Consent letter from husband (pictures, marriage certificate and 'omo onile' land receipt all attached) *Consent letter from son (undergraduate in Nigeria with school ID attached) *Reference letter from Church.
Sponsor documents (Me on student dependant visa) *Invitation letter from my wife indicating less than 4 weeks visit *Letter of Support pledging £1.5k from me to cover flight and feeding *6 months utility bills as she will be staying with us throughout her visit. *2 months Bank statement (savings) not less than £2K as balance *1 month bank statement (expense) *Proof of employment *Marriage certificate *Wife's birth certificate *Our BRP cards including our daughter's (one year + old) plus wife's school ID card *Family pictures which has my mother inlaw in it (Registry, engagement and naming ceremony of our daughter in Nigeria).
Advice: Keep the application simple and straightforward and don't fabricate any lies and more importantly, pray, as what works for A might not work for B.
I hope the above info helps someone.
Cheers. Please how much did you indicate in your MIL's application that she will spend on her visit to the uk? |

Hi guys, please I’ll be applying for visit visa for my mum to come visit me in the uk. I included in the invitation letter that I will be the one sponsoring her trip. I will submit my bank statement (£7900) and still submit her bank statement that has about 2.5m.
In the question where it was asked “How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK”. I put 1.7m for my mum there, please should I change it and put 0
Thank you |

@Emmafe, I finally got my Canadian visa stamped already. But please I’ll like to ask you something else. If I want to apply for my son (as at the time I applied last year, I haven’t given birth), so I didn’t declare him in my application. If I want to apply for Canadian tourist visa for him too, will I have to open a new and fresh application for him on ircc website or I’ll use my own page to create a new application for him. Thank you always. |

Emmafe: Amen! Congratulations!!!
Please when did your bvl drop? Thank you. I don’t think it works like that for applications from the uk. I did my biometrics ending of October 2023 and since then I didn’t get any email from them. The next email I just got now is to submit my passport. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Faithluv5(f): 7:55am On May 07, 2023 |
Emmafe: If you received just one mail, it’s bvl not ppr. You’ll receive another mail for ppr. But before then you’ve to sort this login issue o. I know people face difficulties with gckey but it’s not this serious. I don’t know if it’s possible to link gckey to new portal or create another gckey account and link your previous one. You can make your research on that. Honestly you are God sent. I did exactly this. So what I did was to create another GCkey account and use my same email address for this account so it removed my email from the original account where I was having issues. So I found where to link an account in this new account. I entered all the same details from the previous account and it linked it for me. Just saw that I’ve been asked to submit my passport for stamping. God bless you so much

Emmafe: Application is approved since you’ve your visa document but you can’t get ppr on the tracker, you’ll need to sign in into your portal to download it. After your bvl, have you received any mail from ircc to check your portal for update? I don’t have any visa document yet. I only checked on the “application status checker and saw that”. I received a mail from ircc to check my portal for update but I still cannot login. It keeps telling me error. My friend tried with her own login and it worked and she tried my own login and it kept showing error too. I’ve used different gadgets, I’ve used different browsers, I’ve cleared my cache and it’s still the same thing. It was visitors visa I applied for. But I don’t know what update was done to my application since I can’t even access my application page. Should I just risk it and take my passport to vfs office for stamping? But I don’t know if this is what was updated for me to do since I can’t access my main application. |

Hi guys, just an update on my application. I have still not been able to log into the old orc portal because it’s keeps giving me that same old error each time I try to log in so I decided to register in the application status tracker using my UCL number. And I saw this below.
Please does that mean I have been given the visa and maybe they asked me to bring the passport for stamping? As I can’t still access my account, I don’t know the update ircc did to my application. Please do I just go to Canada vfs London office and give them my passport. I’m confused.

mohammedabiodun: At times the site behaves like that especially when you get to that section where you are expected to click continue. However, there are certain pages in the process where you are not expected to click before it moves to the next. The bottomline, before clicking continue or any other link on the screen after filling your details, wait for like 10-15 seconds to see if it moves to the next page on its own. Yeah but it wont go to the main page except i click continue after entering my login details. See below..

Hi guys, Please i don't know what to do. I used the old IRCC account to apply for my visit visa last year. I received an email from them yesterday about my application saying there's been an update to my application and I have been trying to log in but its keeps telling me "your session has expired and unfortunately, an error has occurred". I have tried different browsers both night and day since yesterday and I have not been able to log in. Please any advice on what i should do I'm really worried.... |

Hi guys, I’m new on this thread and I have few questions I’ll like to ask. I got my US b1/b2 visa to go for a conference in May. But I’ll be leaving from the uk. I’ll be 7months pregnant by May, please what do I need to do before travelling aside looking for Airbnb and a hospital. I’ll like to just give birth before heading back to the UK. Will I need to declare at the POE that I’m pregnant? Aside this, what other documents will I need to show to let them know I’ll be going back to the uk since I’m still a student. I’m a bit confused so I can start planing well. Thank you…. |

Thank you very much TheGuyFromHR: It's a typically Nigerian process, that's what it is. The embassy says there's a walk-in process for a 100 pounds, perhaps if someone's tried that they can give us feedback. Best bet - as you enter the UK in August, sign up and pay for a renewal on the Innovate/NIS website. Then given the current 10 - month backlogs, your turn will probably arrive by the time your passport is expiring in June. |
