When that suppose 'statistics' was published in the last decade, 1 dollar was exchanged at about 145 Naira.

Let me dissect it:

The average Nigerian eats twice a day.

Garri and rice are part of our staple foods.

You eat a plate of eba and soup in the the morning. If you'd purchased that meal, it probably would have cost you about #150 - #250 then.

In the evening you have rice for supper or maybe, just maybe, the same eba with the same price as the one above. Your total expenditure for daily meals would be about #400.

Add other expenses such as that for transportation e.t.c

You might not realize you really spend about #600 daily . Which is about 4 dollars. That was in the last decade. Our daily expenditure has increased of recent.
