I think you are having a misconception about the thread , I gave a practical example . defending him in this context is answering questions against his creation through his words.

no no boss , before the creation of man good and evil was in the world , we were given the free will to use , manipulate and modify the resources in the world .

practical example
your hypothesis is saying God created knife , If he doesn't want you to use it to kill and defend yourself he shouldn't have created it .

while my theory is saying God created knife and gave me the power to use it (freewill) to cook food or kill and defend myself .

God morning faithfuls (Muslims and Christians).

it has always been a great battle for believers to win souls and defend God when a tough question is thrown at.

most of us do defend God against two kind of people, the ATHEISTS AND the BACKSLIDERS , I decipher most of these set of people in the world dont believe in God because of the EVILS that happened to them ; tsunamis , earthquake ,Aids , starvation ,wars , death etc)

I defended God a week ago on nairaland with the knowledge of the word of God and the direction of the holy spirit , for the first time others have been offline .

the question was :

you sound like an atheist , "evil" is the weapon atheists use against God , I know you 'd love him at some point in your life .

God allows evil to exist because of freewill ( the ability to act at one's own discretion). he tolerate evil on a temporary basis so one day those who chooses to love him freely will dwell with him in heaven .evil prevails because that is what humans embrace with sins . earth is not our home heaven is , earth is a journey but people make it a home and chooses to acquire all it riches neglecting their purpose here on earth which is to live and serve God. most people's prayer ,is it not to acquire the riches of the earth ? that is not the grand price .

God will always welcome you in his tabernacle .
