THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. "THE Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reiterated its resolve to ensure a sound banking system in the country by ensuring that the banks increasingly strengthen their risk management processes". ITS A GOOD THING CBN IS PROACTIVE THIS TIME AROUND. PANIC WITHDRAWAL WILL CAUSE RUN ON THE AFFECTED BANKS. SO ACCOUNT HOLDERS IN THE FIVE AFFECTED BANKS SHOULD CONTINUE TO OPERATE THEIR ACCOUNT NORMALLY AS THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. |
@ ArseQPR - PLEASE BE INFOMED The reports which Sanusi received from the examination of the first 10 banks whose books were perused, made him to make certain recommendations to Yar'Adua. The banks examined were Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), Intercontinental Bank Plc, Oceanic International Bank Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB), Afribank Plc, Diamond Bank Plc, First Bank Plc, Finbank Plc and Sterling Bank Plc. Out of these, five of the banks passed the fitness test. They are UBA, First Bank, GTB, Diamond Bank and Sterling Bank. They were however required to make some amends, based on the examiners' report. SO I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU MEANT BY "DI seriously pray that First Bank should be indictec sef so that Lamido yansh would burn well well " |

What matter is not the school one attended but what one has upstair. It is the substance you are made of that counts. For instance, if you are from a State institution and you have been able to develope yourself very well, you will compete favourably with anyone from a Federal institution. It is an individual thing. The problem here is that we place too much emphasis on paper qualification. |
I learnt its purely Nigerian GMAT. |
I think the problem is the large no of people trying to access the site almost at the same time. Keep trying you will get through. You dont have to give up you know. ![]() |
I also got the invitation to write their test this weekend. All the best man. |

For me,2006 was eventful.I completed my degree programme in feb. 2006, though I had completed my NYSC in aug. 2004 using my HND qualification which I completed in dec. 2002. I also qualified as a chartered Accountant in may 2006 ICAN exam. I also got a job in a leading Nigerian Insurance Company as Audit & Control Officer. I give God the glory for everything. For those looking up to God for one thing or the other, please, dont doubt and believe that you will have it good in 2007. I wish all Nairalanders a prosprrous 2007. |
I Thank God I did'nt embark on the journey anyway. It does'nt make any real sense inviting the whole Nigerians for the same test at the same time and at the same venue. For people that went and nothing happened, take heart because it is just one of those things.Life itself is all about taking risk. ![]() |
In fact, they are fraudstars. They will organise one kangaroo test & ask you to pay either 1050 or 850 as the case may be. I think they should be reported to EFFC because this exploitation must stop. |
Am happy for you.To the glory of almighty God I also got a job in a leading Insurance company as Audit Officer.I thank God for this breakthrough.I want all nairalanders not yet employed not to lose hope cos' your miracles are on the ways. Stay focused. ![]() |
I say a loud congratulation to all the newly admitted Chartered Accountants in the house. We give all glory to God for given us this day.It was a dream come true for me when ICAN president by the virtue of the power conferred on her admitted us into the Institute. You need to hear the loud ovation that enveloped the Shell Hall.Once again I say a big congratulation. Meet me at the top. |
I also got the information from a reliable source that the last test conducted in Lagos had been cancelled. And that another test would be conducted.Let us keep our fingers crossed as we watch events unfolds. ![]() |

Accounting is more flexible. This is basically because u dont have to attend a conventional higher institution of learning to be a Qualified Accountant. All you need do is to take a professional exam like ICAN( ACA) or ACCA.Also, you dont have to be a commercial inclined student to take up a career in Accountancy profession. But you can never become an Economist unless & until you bag a degree in Economics. You will also have to be mathematically sound because you will be made to take many calculation courses like Calculus,Econometrics,Statistics etc.You will also have to appreciate so many Economic Theories some of which may look abstract anyway.I hold a BSc degree in Economics,HND in Accoutancy & Finance & ACA also.I found myself having bias for Accounting.Take care. |
The much awaited severally postponed Ecobank test will come up on the 17th of Aug.The venue is Kings College Annex,2-4,Alakija street.V.I.The time is 8am prompt. It is a general test and will definitely be the final for the Lagos zone.I wish all Nairalander all the best. |
