95seun: What is ACCA ? Honestly, just work on your SOP, if you’re not willing to put in the work for your SOP then save yourself the troubles, disappointment .. and apply for a course that shows an easy logical progression.
Yes I think that what I’ll do. Apply for a new course, thank you! |

Hello everyone, I just got my note, can anyone advice on what to do next? My application was refused in June. Bsc: Psychology Proposed study: ACCA School: Toronto school of management
Note: Assessment note prepared by NROBI officer and entered into GCMS by OSC. I have reviewed the application. Taking the applicant's plan of studies into account, the applicant does not appear to be sufficiently well established that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense. The applicant's plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented. The applicant's prior travel history is insufficient to count as a positive factor in my assessment. Weighing the factors in this application. I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. For the reasons above, I have refused this application." |

Pkay28: Let me share something i learnt from here concerning study gaps, hope it helps. ''Simply outline Month/Year of all work experience -Trainings, personal development, attending job career fairs, Account for every single month unemployed, since after graduating. For example: If you graduated Sept 2013 Then Nov 2013-Nov 2014 - Nysc(state job description in brief) Jan2014- March 2014-Computer ict training (make sure there's a backup certificate ooo) April 2014 September 2014-ICTt instructor at so so place October 2014-Janu-Workshop etc.. .. .. ... ...
Also, regarding your proposed course, analyze to the VO areas in your proposed course that are not included in the similar program available in Nigeria. You can do this by visiting the school's website.
Lastly, dear you cannot be your sponsor, nit with your work history. look for a direct family member(preferably with same surname will really save you stress) with account up to 10 mill or more, (may or may not be up to, d gurus will correct me if i m wrong) then back up with yours, browse extensively limiting your search to '' Nairaland '' even with google, it will take you to threads that has your questions answered. God bless.. . Thank you |

mcobex: It will be hard to convince the vo, but not impossible. Your sop needs to be very very strong so as to prove to the vo you are not just using study to run away from Nigeria. Let's wait for your gcms to arrive then you can know what's next. But I think you stand a better chance going for masters on a course related to your Bsc Thank you! I’ll keep you posted |

kcosam: You need to research for samples of SOP/LOE online and develop something on your own, afterwards you can ask someone to peruse it for you and make corrections/recommendations, no one will develop an SOP for you, you wear shoes and of course knows where it pinches. Ok thank you |

kcosam: If you said you have been working for a year now that means you started work in 2018 right? And you said you graduated since 2013, did you make effort to explain in your sop what you have been doing from the time you graduated to the time you were employed? That is about 4+yrs gap. There should be some activities between this gap, either academic or work. I was working from 2014 as a personal assistant, to work as recently stated as a consultant II. I think I’ll have to knw more trick on hw to write a powerful sop, I’ll keep the house updated whe I have my note to know which area to tackle . I’d appreciate if you can as well help to construct a convincing sop. Thank you for your time |

Qudkom: Travel history accompanies other refusal reasons. It is almost a generic reason especially if you've been flagged for financial reasons. Also I noticed what you studied in your previous degree doesn't correlate with your intended program and that might be related to the reason you got flagged for "Purpose of Visit". The first area of concern to the vo would be; 1. Why didn't he follow through with a profession related to that of your undergraduate degree? 2. You can always write your ACA exams in Nigeria hence, not a reasonable expense to travel over Canada. 3. SOP not showing any indication of proposed purpose of visit to Canada 4. Choice of sponsor is also a huge reason. I didn’t use any sponsor, I use my personal soa, is there anyway I can still correlate my previous degree with the intend program? Do I need to at least get a travel history? Can you kindly assist me with SOP? |

guzenaira: Like I said earlier on,
Travel History will disappear when you apply again. It’s not something to bother on.
You can travel if it’s important to you or you have things to do in those countries you mentioned but don’t travel just to disvirgin your passport for Canada TRV.
Whatever the outcome of your notes, I believe you need to be constructive in your SOP. Psychology to ACCA is not bad if you can thoroughly convince the VO.
I am from that line of academics that’s what brought my attention to your question.
Am always free most especially on sundays that’s why I won’t be able to help with your SOP for now.
When your note comes out, we never can tell I may be able to help with the SOP.
But I know there are lots of good pple over here who can help you out even if am not available. Thank you for your help. I’ll definitely stay in touch. I’ll send you a direct email here if you for mind. |

mcobex: First, I will advise you order for your gcms note ASAP. Secondly, when did you graduate (Bsc) and how long have you been working in this accounting firm? What's your position in the firm? Graduated 2013, been working for a year now! Consultant II |

OptimusPrime21: You do not need to travel to any place to tackle travel history.. my application was approved with my virgin passport.. haven't entered a plane with the idea of leaving Nigeria... this will be my 1st so pls.. save your money.. wait on your gcms note then work with it accordingly How much do you have In your soa? How can you help with the sop plz |

guzenaira: Firstly order for your note, to know the real reason you were denied but from my point of view, your SOP will do the magic for you.
Since you study psychology and currently work in the accounting firm, writing a powerful SOP shouldn’t be your problem if you really think you deserve to be in Canada. You can do it.
You need to step up the funds you have in your SOA.
Travel history will disappear I’ve already sent a request for my note to know the reason for my refusal and also know a better way to systematically apply for a new application. I’m thinking of travelling to Dubai or South Africa, any suggestion? I’d appreciate if you can assist with a new sop. Thank you |
