The cost of 20ft container is about 300k

Cost of hiring a crane for a day could cost up 50k
Insulation of the container and earthing of electrical wires
Painting with Marine coating paint (Very expensive)

This container house is expensive compared to building a conventional house.

It won't if proper attention is focused on the corrosion aspect...

1. If there's any sign of rust, it should be immediately chipped off with a chipping hammer
2. Marine coating paint only should be use (First Prime the surface before using the marine coating paint)

Marine coating paint is used for painting ship's hull because ships works in a very harsh environment, where almost half of its body is submerged in salt water for years.

If such paint is used for painting this container house, it will last for 8-10years with no issues of corrosion.

Since the paint is VERY EXPENSIVE, I doubt those Nigerian designers would employ it's usage for the container house

Earthing of all electrical wiring will minimise electric shock..... Even ships are made of steel and all wirings are earthed..

What you should be afraid of is corrosion... Cos the cargo container should be painted with marine coating paint or a sacrificial anode should be attached to fight corrosion

For the heat factor... the container house will be heavily insulated to absorb heat.. also you can install extractor in every rooms, and it is best to install Solar power system to enjoy this container house

RIM (Blackberry) provides software services to Apple (iOs 10 for example) Ford, Sony,Samsung, Mercedes Benz, US-German-Russian Military and lot of Security and business companies in the world (I think the software biz is more lucrative than building hardwares hence their decision to outsource hardware function to an Indonesian partner)

So the Indonesian firm will still build blackberry phones for RIM but will share some certain percentage with RIM

I totally disagree with u. Is dis how we intend to rid our society of corruption? So without gathering facts and evidence, u call for the arrest of a supposed whistle blower without any investigation carried out to support or deny his claims? This case has the potential to shine light into the NASS which most leaders have said is submerged in corruption. There are classification societies like ABS, Bureau Veritas, Nippon, Lloyd's register that makes sure the ship builder follows the standard while building a ship and their supervisor is always present till the end of construction of the ship and during the sea trial too.

Building a ship in China does not make it inferior... cos in China there are lot of shipyards owned by Norwegian, Dutch, German companies... like Damen Shipyards in China

Even South Africa builds ships too (I know you are surprised)

People may ask why Nigerians choose to build their ships in China..

Well some Oil Moguls choose to construct their ships in China due to nature of contract (might be short term)

Why would I build my ship in Norway that might cost me up to $600m when I can build that same ship and quality in China for $400m and recoup my investment and still make more profits within the short term of my contract. That's why in Nigeria coastal water almost 60% of ships are build in China or Singapore and are all durable.

But the machinery are not from China though... a China-build vessel might be carrying a Wartsila Main engine and a caterpillar generator and other different brands for ancillary
