On Monday, November 27 at about 8PM fire razed the Yoruba line in Cross River State’s most popular market, Watt Market located in Calabar.
During inspection at the affected areas in the market, it was discovered that more than 50 shops was razed.
Findings by Brainnews NG has it that on the fateful day in which this ugly event occurred the Cross River State fire service was said to have ran out of water and chemicals.

The Etinan born professor died from a protracted illness.
According to sources at the Akwa Ibom state government house, Prof Ikpe traveled abroad for medical care on a couple of occasions before her demise and she was already booked down for replacement because of her health issues.
The cause of her death was not known as at the time of this report.
